Frontline is always a class act in terms of in factual depth reporting. I'll have to check this one out. Missed it last night. Thanks for the heads-up.

Are you using a "mod" of sorts?
One point that I'd like to make is that these graphics don't come at the expense of the gameplay at all. Personally, I think this game is far more sophisticated than the CMx1 engine ever was. For those folks who gave CMSF a miss because they didn't like the Syria/Modern Era setting (or whatever) you've got a lot to look forward to when the WW2 title arrives sometime next year.
I'll second that. Beautiful pics.

I believe there is another more in-depth thread about this from a bit back in time. I had asked about it myself and it was explained that this only happens on very big maps and scenarios and only to the guy setting up the game on his first turn. After that, every other turn in the game is smooth as usual.
What I do when setting up a game and getting this lag on my side is I set up my view from the top down which smooths things out in order for me to go where I need to go and set up units. It is slow and a bit laggy when setting up move commands and such but it does work to minimize lag. Once that first turn is over, everything turn thereafter is smooth as silk.

unforgivable.

Beautifully done Ade670. I'm going to have to bookmark that one.

Wow never knew about that bubble, thanks guys.
Yeah, I learned that from Chainsaw a while back. You can really do some excellent suppression fires on areas or buildings using that tool while advancing another squad or platoon. It keeps the enemy's heads down smartly.

Well okay then. Thanks for the answer. That explains why I get no indication of my opponants ceasefire request, I've been waiting for some sort of onscreen indication.
-
Got a question regarding ceasefire status between two PBEM players. When one person hits the "ceasefire" button and sends the turn to the other PBEM player, will the receiving PBEM player receive an indication that the opponant wants a ceasefire?

LOL. Well let's just jump right on it then. Just so you know. There is a mission editor which came with the game and you can put together campaigns with it as well.
-
I try it again and after first mission loading second mission and in 29% game crash with out of memory message. Save game is ok.
Reboot your computer. Be sure that CMSF and the scenario you want to run are the first things you do with the computer. That seems to fix things regarding "out of memory" error with my machine if and when I get them which is seldom.

Ditto on the Syrian artillery radio chatter.
-
The game does have an excellent mission editor to make missions to your preference. Why not try it?

The 1PN79 thermal sight (Kornet-E) should provide pretty decent night thermal capabilities.
Ah...I was wondering about that.
-
Do the Syrians have something equivalent to the Javelin CLU units?
-
Interesting read gents. Thanks. So...If I may take from this thread the idea that in CMSF, if you are the Syrians, you should only really have your squads open up on the NATO forces from about 150 meters tops?

We hate that movie because we don't actually talk like that.
Actually, from the part of Wisconsin I'm from, the movie was pretty acurate. Another movie I can think of that really kind of "showcases the midwest", particularly Wisconsin and Minnesota is "Grumpy Old Men."
I first saw that movie when living out east and it made me homesick.

No relationship to the size of the scenario, perchance?
Don't really know. But this thread has caused me to be more observant with the sound and see if this may actually be the case.
-
Interesting thread. Sometimes I get sound in center speaker playing CMSF and sometimes I don't. Never understood why that was.
-
Frankly, I rather enjoy the new editor. Particularly the way in which to adjust height parameters on the map. Heck of a lot easier than the old way.
-
Thanks. Got a lot of options now. So far "SendThisFile" is working superbly. Thanks again to all.
-
Thanks. I will give it a try.

I've noticed that it is very difficult and/or actually impossible for me to play large missions via PBEM due to the large sizes of those said files. It actually is not a problem with the game but rather the size limits imposed by my ISP on email attachments.
Does anyone know how to get around this? My ISP has a 10MB limit on email attachments. How to you guys play large PBEM games and get those files to your opponents?

Been very much enjoying the game. Love the way radio chatter takes place when BLUEFOR is requesting either artillery or air support. Any chance we can get radio chatter for Syrians when they are requesting artillery support?

Was able to watch it today myself. Does anyone think we can actually win this? I thought the comments made by the Afghani Intelligence Official to be rather interesting.
