  1. Hello everyone. I don't really know where to put this but since XFire is being mentionned in this thread, I'll put it here. I am trying to get Combat Mission Shock Force supported in XFire games list. I am a part of the Xfire GameMasters team so I wrote the code to add it but since I am the only one on the team who bought CMSF, I need some of you to test it and tell me if it works for you. The code is available here on Xfire forums. Please post feedback there so I can link to your posts. The more feedback I have, the quicker the game could be supported. I think it could be a first milestone to get other Combat Mission games supported.
  2. Nice one afreu. I'll give it a go as soon as I can. @ MeatEtr : I use Hoversnap and it works great. Very simple to use and free. I am on XP though and I don't know if it works on Vista.
  3. Same here. Muzzle fire and explosions look great! I would happily use this mod.
  4. A nice synchronised kill from the scenario "In Harm's Way". The Javelin hit the tank the second after he shoot at my team... Poor lads. If only they had fired quicker...
  5. When you say "they are through the wall", you mean they are going through the breach they created? Because the whole point of my testing was to blast the wall without going through. In a normal case (with the squad moving through the wall), a simple blast command with the waypoint behind the wall will do the trick. No facing command needed at all (if I remember correctly). Oh and while we are talking about the "Blast" command, a nice feature would be to be able to choose what kind of mouvement the blast turns into when the wall goes boom (like becoming a "Hunt" move for example ). Not sure if it's something doable for BF though.
  6. Mmmh I don't think the facing command is specificly needed for some and not others (sorry, I don't have the time right now to test with the Marines or Non-engi).. Well in fact in some situations I don't think the facing order is needed at all but since I have more success with it, I prefer to add it. If anyone want to try this small scenario out, you can download it here. (Remember, it's just for doing various tests for the blast command, it's not a kick ass scenario like Webwing's one or Papertiger's ) And sorry for the french screenies but I think they're still understandable.
  7. I tried to do the same for blasting inside walls but this time, it didn't go well. The orders : Observing the action : But the wrong wall was destroyed (I wanted to blast the one in front of my men) : But I think I got the thing for blasting outside wall of buildings and standard wall without going through.
  8. So... How goes the blast building experiment? Pretty well in fact. I manage to blast the outside wall without getting in as you can see on those pics. Same usual orders : Observing the wall which goes boom : Final position :
  9. (5 screens max so...) Got a third team on the left. Here are the orders : Moving, then facing and again, nice little hole. Final position : Going to do some testing with blasting buildings.
  10. Screenies as promised. 2 Teams going straight to the wall, notice the facing order before the "blast". The first team got a blast order the square right in front of the wall, the second team got a blast order the square before the one right in front of the wall. Nice holes in the wall. Final position :
  11. I'll try to make some screenies when i go home. It'll be easir to explain. They move to the Blast waypoint. The Blast waypoint wasn't behind the wall so they didn't go through. They move to it and then, depends on where was the waypoint, they hide behind the wall (still without going through the blast) or stay where they finished their move. I have only tested on walls but in the mini-scenario there are also buildings so i'll try on these too.
  12. Finally a friend of mine made a quick scenario to test different approaches and the end result is : it all depends on the facing order. At least, it was what we observe. Without a facing order attached to the waypoint before the blast command, nothing happens. Moving infantry + facing order (to the wall ) + blast at the square near the wall or the square before it and your blast will be a success. It worked for me.
  13. I totally agree with you. I started this campaign a few days ago and, even if I am only at the second mission (with many squads low on ammos ), I have to say I really enjoy my playtime on this one. Since I prefer infantry battles, I am very pleased. Great job to the maker.
  14. Hello everybody. I have some problems with the "Blast" command without going to the other side of the wall. I've issued the exact same orders as Huntarr or Chainsaw show in their pics but for some reason, my guys are just standing there without blasting anything. When I issue the same order and click just behind the wall, they do blast it but they move in the breach which is something I don't want. Does something have been changed with the latest patch regarding this order?
  15. Ok. Thanks for the update. I guess i'll give it a shot and see how it goes. Last time I tried there was some strange visual bugs with the preview of squad positionning but I didn't push on. If this campaign is ever updated with the UK module be sure you'll have a fan here.
  16. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I was wondering if this campaign still works with 1.11. I was having a blast playing it in 1.08 but didn't get to the final and I would be happy to re-do it again since I prefer infantry fights.
  17. I would like to be able to directionally deploy smoke instead of having to issue a face command first. Since I mainly play in WeGo mode, it can be frustating sometimes.
