Ugh. Are anti-tank teams still shooting at tanks with rifles?
I've never seen this happen...

Hello, Paper Tiger--
I've upgraded to 1.21 and have the Marines Module, and I just downloaded "Second Storm" and saved it to my Scenarios file within my Game Files directory. When I try to access the scenario through CMSF, however, it doesn't show up in the game. Additionally, when I checked the "Second Storm" file that had been saved, I noticed that it's an RAR file while all of the other scenarios are BTT files. Is there something I need to do to convert the RAR file to a BTT file? Thanks!
A rar file is a compressed archive, much like a zip file. You need to extract the btt file from within the rar file using winrar. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=winrar

this makes me think the artillery is being misrepresented as "coming under fire" which is what the hunt command is waiting for?
How is that a misrepresentation?

I believe the Humvee's *were* worthless junk in the game, but I've had better luck with them since the last few patches. One thing is that they have to be unbuttoned in order to use their thermal optics. Secondly, try finding hull-down overwatch positions. That is, positions where only the thermals are peaking over the crest of a hill, and from which a good portion of the battlefield is visible.

There are F-18's in the game (if you have the Marines Module), and the F-14 was retired in 2006, while the game takes place in 2007 iirc.

I'm no expert on the matter, but I don't think it's a stretch for any sizable unconventional force to be equipped with man portable anti aircraft missiles. Therefore, I think it might be more realistic if the LZ was at least a few kilometers away from the known enemy position.

Also, BFC's refusal to bump up Red's capabilities with some tougher units and some gear the Syrians could have bought years in the future (facing an American attack) leaves the gaming experience too much like a turkey shoot.
Huh? Then what do you call the T-90, and the BMP-3? As far as I know, those, along with the Kornet, are the very best weapons that would realistically be available to Syria. What do you have in mind that would eclipse those?

Ah, now I see what you're saying. When I first opened this post, those screenshots weren't there.

Are you saying the LAV-25 contains AT-4's, but no launcher? If so, each AT-4 comes with a disposable one-time use launcher, much like a LAW. You don't need a separate launcher, like you do for RPG-7 and Javelin.
Also, which M2HB's? Neither LAV-25s, nor its dismounts, employ an M2.

It's up to the mission designer. Collateral Damage can indeed be factored in. Apparently it wasn't for the first battle.

This monkey's gone to heaven.

Are you sure that when you're using target, it's the grenades doing the friendly killing, rather than LAWs or AT4s?
edit: whoops, i see you just posted the save file. Will check it out myself.
edit2: zip appears to be corrupted. Anyone else have luck opening it?

On a side note, does anyone know of a scenario that mixes forces. Such as Army and Marines vs. Syrians?
There are a few towards the end of the stock Marines campaign. Not aware of any individual scenarios that do this, however.
Looking forward to some joint UK-US action at some point during the BF campaign! I'm sure the two forces will link up at some point during the invasion.

Monkeys, you are called upon once again...
-
Or is the CMSF:BF demo only released.
That. Have a careful read of the news item.

Monkeys are simply wonderful creatures, aren't they?

And with the Brits module the maximum time for scenarios is going to be extended to 4 hours. That should make for some pretty long, marathon-like battles that test your ability to conserve ammo. I'll bet it increases the calls for side-arms, melee combat, and/or the ability to use captured enemy weapons.
And then the BFC team will remember why they set it to 2 hours in the first place .

Even better when the same DU penetrator takes out a pair of T-62's. This is why I only play WeGo .

le sigh....

Loads fine for me.
*ahem* (1.21)

What do you mean by goofy? I think it's quite decent now, and has been for several patches. Men will line up at ridge lines so as to only expose their upper bodies.
