  1. Piecekeeper, do you have SP2 installed? Please, say no or our last hope is gone!
  2. 185.85 was a very bugged release; there is a new one now. I want to play CMSF... pleeease!!!
  3. SP2 is available for download. I have a localized Vista and I must wait for the Italian version. Hope it helps...
  4. I fear we should wait 1) the official release of SP2 2) a new version of NVidia drivers post-SP2 I'm very sad about this crash, I love CM too much
  5. SP2 is still not available to the public, are you an MSDM subscriber? Or you have the beta? After the official release probably Nvidia and ATI will release new drivers.
  6. This seems possible, since the Vista problem seems to be related to the management of very fast multi core systems giving a lot of instructions to the graphic cards. Indeed a lot of applications with fast graphical processing are involved, not only CMSF. Obviously maybe your problem is different; but I suggest you to install SP2 or the quickfix, just to be sure.
  7. As I said, the problem is in Vista 64, not in the video card. Maybe after SP2 we need new drivers, or maybe the problem will be already solved. We will see soon. BUT we have different brands of drivers, so I have an error message and you don't have it.
  8. This could have much to do with my issue: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=86876 This is a Windows Vista problem, that SHOULD be corrected with SP2, that is very near to its release. The fact that I have a message and you a CTD is driver dependant, I have a Geforce. There is a quick fix too, but I wait the SP2.
  9. I realized now that there is another similar, older thread: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=85342
  10. I was playing again, then I paused the game for a small break, and when I returned (about 5 minutes later, maybe 15 from the start of the game) the error was there! So it happens when the game is paused, too.
  11. I'm trying different driver settings, but I had another crash in mission 3 of the semper fi campaign after about 10 mins. I was looking around.
  12. - Are you guys all getting the SAME OpenGL error? Error 14, as G B Scurlock - Are you guys all running 9800GT cards (which themselves are based on the 88xx core family). 9800 GT - Are you guys all running the 182.50 drivers? I had the problem with an old version (179.XX) and now I have 182.50, same issue - What OS's are you running? Vista home 64 bit - With regards to the crash itself, when approximately does it occur? Immediately when a game loads up a battle? As soon as you load the game itself? Does it occur in both realtime and turn based mode? The game happens after some playing, never before 10 minutes, today after 1 hour. I can't say for sure if it's related to something I'm doing in the game, but apparently it happens selecting a new unit. I tried to configure the driver in single GPU mode, but the problem was identical. I use the standard driver settings. Tomorrow I will try to set a custom configuration for CMSF with all settings on "Application controlled" Best regards and thank you for the help.
  13. I opened the ticket with the support, if there are news I will post here.
  14. Personally I don't blame Battlefront, I'm an authentic fan But I really hope the problem will be solved very soon. I will open a ticket today.
  15. I have the same problem as you, with a brand new PC and a 9800 GT. Drivers are OK and updated, all other games work fine. I'm very unhappy since CMSF is my preferred game.
  16. As I declared a long time ago, that would be a wonderful feature. Please Battlefront!
  17. I proposed that a long time ago: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=76477 I think it would be WONDERFUL.
  18. Dear Battlefront, I register the result of each battle on a GoogleDocs sheet. So I can replay an old scenario and make a comparison, it's very interesting! And I can share the doc with a friend (like Berto!) so he can try to beat me It would be really wonderful to have this feature (automatically) done inside the game: locally (nice) or better sending the results (optionally) to your server! And this would allow you to calibrate scenarios and campaigns, evaluating the average score achieved by the users. And users will see results achieved by other players... it's nice! A similar system is working for the game Carriers at War. I have a lot of ideas on this matter, if you are interested don't hesitate to contact me!
  19. I think CMSF isn't a game for everyone, and I think -it wasn't intended to be- for everyone. You can't review an RTS or an FPS if you're a pure-wargamer; you can't review CMSF if you aren't a wargamer In my review CMSF was 8.9 with 1.08 patch; today it's real close to be a full 9. Let me see the next patch and the 1.11 campaign!
  20. Yes sometimes it's a big problem. When the action spot is a little far from the wall it's a pain... a lot of wasted ammo.
  21. If the enemy is blue I see no problem; maybe with red enemy. But there are many solutions: in this mode enemy icons could be white or grey, so you can easily distinguish between friend and enemy. Or you can let blue and red icons and change the status icon mode colors. Again, I think status icons could be fine, but sniper and hidden units icons are IMHO much more important.
  22. Personally I think that simple is good Having some dedicated icon for snipers, or a special icon for hidden units, should be not too hard. For ammo, morale...: keep it simple. Orange is bad, yellow not fine, green ok: using some key I can switch between normal, ammo mode, morale mode... and so on.
