I tried these settings and I found they increased my fps and overall removed all the laggy mouse and jaggy camera I had before. I found that I don't need all the settings to be exactly like yours to gain the improvement. I have 8800GT and following settings work great: difference to OP with bold Anisotropic - 16x Antialising Mode - 4x Multi-Display - single display performance mode Texture Filtering Quality - performance Threaded Optimization - Off CMSF was set to VS Off 3d Best Textures Best AA On Higher Priority On Forceware 169.32 I suggest that if you have 8800 series Gfx card you'd maybe want to try my settings because it looks great and plays great. Huge improvement in performance compared to before. Thanks missinginreality!

ATI - Vista - OpenGL Drivers error
Niskalaukaus replied to Yair Iny's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
I don't believe AMD dual core optimizer causes this if I have a Intel CPU, my friend has the same problem and he's running single core pentium4 with ATI&Vista. -
Vista issue resolved.

Putting My Complaints In Perspective

Never played for longer than 1minute before Crashing to desktop so I have to disagree with some of your thoughts. Vista&Ati dont mix with CMSF -
This exactly same error happens to me, after only 1-2 minutes in game it freezes and windows cursor appears on the screen and CMSF stops responding. I tried this with 7.4 and 7.7 Catalyst, both having the same problem. I might also add that when I select units with mouse the game halts for 1-2seconds or often stops responding&throws to desktop with the error My specs are; Motherboard: 4CoreDual-VSTA chipset VIA PT880 Ultra Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 @ 2.9ghz Memory: 2048MB RAM Video Card: Radeon X800XT PE 256MB Sound Card: 7.1 CH Windows® Vista™ Premium Level HD Audio (ALC888 Audio Codec) Operating System: Windows Vista™ Ultimate 32bit Seems to be a Vista and ATI gfx related problem.

CMSF, Vista, or Driver issues
Niskalaukaus replied to Hadberz's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
stikkypixie: I didn't mean to sound like I was comparing the graphics. The game has _performance issues_. I dont care what the game looks like if it's playable. 5-15fps, freezing and throwing to desktop are things that make it unenjoyable for me, not the graphics, no. I apologize if my previous post was unclear. -
CMSF, Vista, or Driver issues

It seems I paid for a alpha version. The graphics look decent at most(or should I say 3 years old) with balanced settings and then my fps is around 10-20(!!!!) I play World in Conflict with awesome looks around 70fps steady. Everytime I choose a unit the game freezes for around 1 second or just stops responding. In its current state it's simply UNPLAYABLE. -
