German link says I'm slowly downloading 571mb is that right? The demo page says it should be 598.

Sergei your name is being added to 'the list' just ahead of Finalcut for his hilarious thread.

and forgot to place the manual inside the box...
Or get someone with a chest infection to spit in it..

Oh the demo will be tomorrow now...no chance now it's way to late.
Yeah 5 o'clock in the afternoon now on the East coast of the US so BFC have called it a day, shame as they were just about to push the big green button to.

Go to the folder where CMA is installed, in the 'data' folder create another called 'z'.
So you have something like C:\filepath\CMA\data\z
put the mod brz files in there and start the game.
-
Is it just me or is the flashing red button alot more prominent than in CMSF and CMA, hopefully it wont be too noticable or distracting while playing.

The demo could come out one second before friday...
When does the friday start in your crazy country ??
It's already started..

From what I've seen the essential mods will be for the effects that haven't appeared to change since CMSF's release, therefore flames, explosions and the CMBO infantry voices.
I'd love to see a US voice mod that contained phrases such as "hey buddy ya wanna see a photo of my sweatheart back home" in a innocent green voice destined to meet an MG-42, and "hey Mack ya gotta light" from a hardened veteran.

......my interface with the world is neutral bordering on a dictatorship fetish....
I think I'm in the wrong self help forum.

Acronis True Image would do it because I know it's saved me in the past, but I think now the new licence takes a snapshot of your hardware. I don't think copying and pasting folders will do what you want.

Game will be out end of next week. Maybe just before. Latest early week after. Or sometime after that.
Or when the frenzied mob armed with pitchforks and flaming torches storm the BFC compound and take what's rightly theirs.
..or Thursday.

I think that method would work as long as there were no major hardware changes, don't know if a new drive would work with an image from a different type/size/brand of disk.

My fathers Scottish so it's an inherited trait to take the piss at any opportunity.

As we're not going to see a CMAK 2, I'd like to see someone having a go at doing some Italian campaign scenarios if the editor can be fudged enough to make them believable.

And the playing of the bagpipes should act like a TRP bonus for the german player to flatten the area where the sound is coming from.

We went from Toy Soldiers to Solider war games and it stuck, so that when BF produced a computer game that fitted the bill it was all our Christmases. For thirty years or more we have all been programmed to like this game it's why we love it and why BF loves to make it.
The problem is that so many young people now are being brought up on youtube and Portal, iPods and halo so will they in future get it when we show them CNBN or will it be the game of our generation with no one to follow in years to come.
Peter.
I've thought about this as well, most of the players here seem to have a background in model building and board and table top gaming. Hopefully 10 years of internet expansion should allow for greater exposure of the Combat Mission series and will bring in new blood.

So all going well demo mid week, full game about a week later?

I still say they look more realistic then the "Dirt Barnacles" they had earlier in the Beta.
I preferred the 'dirt barnacles' look rather than the ones with the ring of sandbags around the top. The sandbags make them look too neat and well prepared when most of photos from the battle I've seen depict a hurridley dug dirt hole.

I guess a few of us were encouraged by Moon's comments last week that 'you'll know the download size yourselves, next week'. Alas it seems like someones popped the balloon in front of the small childs face as they went to grab it.

I have never tried to break a Damp Kit Kat.I will dunk one in milk and see how hard it is to break.I will report on the progress of my experiment after it is completed.
Make sure the milk is warm as this will weaken the outer chocolate layer therefore eroding the structural integrity of the biscuit core, allowing one to experience the full meaning of the metaphor.

obviously the campaigns that ship with CMBN will be playable in either RT or WeGo from the off, but also you'll be able to choose between each battle in the campaign whether you want to play it as RT or WeGo.
I found that the later releases of the official CMSF campaigns/battles in the British and NATO modules were more designed and catered to RT players, the ability to instanly change a units behaviour was critical in alot of missions due to strict casualty limits. Maybe this advantage of playing RT and having alot more control was more beneficial in the modern setting but it left me having to save and reload alot more than I'd like as a WEGO player.
Hopefully the difference in play styles dosen't have such a noticeable influence in the WW2 setting.

I was in the pub tonight and a bloke sold me a geniune copy of CMBN on DVD.
I'm now watching Rick Astley perform through gritted teeth.

Anyone remember the CMSF shipping goof where a guy got the game in the mail like two weeks early? I'll never forget the thread title: "IT. IS. IN. MY. HANDS."
No but I remember someone getting CMSF earlier than everyone else, when someone suggested they were not entirely of a truthful nature, the guy posted a screenshot of a large group of Strykers arranged to spell the the letters .F.U.!
CMSF Mods that work with demo
in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Posted
So far I'm using:
Veins Sky mod
Veins effects mod (only the explosions and smoke part)
Scipio's flames
Mords US voices edited to remove the references to 'Hadjis'
My own tracer mod I just made today.
All work fine, just make a 'z' folder under your 'data' folder and drop the mods in there.
