  1. Not sure what's going on here I have alot of trouble killing TURMS with Javelins that 'appear' to use a top down attack at ranges of around 200m.

    Does this mean the game is using a top down attack animation while the missile is actually striking in flat trajectory or is there different levels of top down effectiveness? For example is a top down attack at 200m less effective than that of 1000m?

    BTW I've seen the direct attack animation used against close targets but just can't work out why BFC testing is contrary to what alot of others are reporting, can I suggest BFC test in an urban environment as alot of people report this problem on the Al Hawl map.

    Which model of T-72? It is possible that there is something wrong with the matchup against that specific tank. We did find something like that early in testing (T-54B IIRC) where there was a data error for the top deck armor rating.

    I've seen the BMP-2 do something similar I watched it empty it's HE ammo on a Stryker for no kill, when it then was forced to go to HEAT

    ammo it got a kill very quickly.

I can't remember seeing this before but while playing the Al Amarah mission I noticed and the end of each turn all previously spotted enemy troops become visible despite that no unit can currently see them. These enemies were spotted earlier in the game then went into hiding, during the turn phase my troops can't see them but at the end of the turn when I'm giving orders these enemies are all visible with up to date unit info, I click on every unit I have but none can see these enemies.

    Can anyone explain what's happening I thought Predators weren't modelled in CMSF.

Yep, had this problem in urban maps, the only time they organised themselves back into a combined squad was when I gave them orders to board a vehicle or sometimes you have to give them an order to move back to where half the squad got stuck, haven't tried splitting the squad and then trying to get them to merge again at another location. Definately frustrating when they're needed at the front but want to hang around the back blocks and let the others do all the work.

    Yeah but they are a very useful tool to manage your units especially when troops are in vehicles. I just think for realism purposes they could be maybe olive green and transparent so they are still visible but less intrusive.
  7. I'd just like to see the icons a bit more subtle, perhaps transparent or a duller more natural colour.

    At the moment when there is a large number of units on the field it looks like a kids birthday party where the hired clown has gone berserk with the balloon making.

  8. I played about 4 missions into the campaign in RT and then went back and started again in WEGO. My enjoyment of the game doubled immediately, now I can savour the nice graphics,zoom in on an enemy tank as a Javelin hits it, get in the trenches with the enemy during an arty strike etc.

    I can do this without having to worry about what's happening elsewhere on the battlefield, this is what attracted me to CMBO years ago and

    for me WEGO still is the heart and soul of CM.

    I agree somewhat, as a long time voyeur of these forums since CMBO days but only recently joined I felt intimidated to dive into the Peng pit of intellects, but I think this thread could be a good place for the FNG's to crap on with just such

  10. I looked at the properties for the CMSF folder and it says only 160mb size on disk.

    Is this the issue, with the version100 file not installing?

    do I need to download again?

    The download was 395,587 but I had to do it through a internet cafe who burnt it to CD for me, if I do it again it will cost me more than I paid for the game. I can only get dial up where I live.

  11. At first I only heard the sound from the intro. Then I played the intro.wmv with wmp which allowed it to play althought with low colour quality.

    Anyway I start the game and just get a blank screen regardless of whether I've removed the intro from the data folder or not.

    Nothing just a blank screen.

    Help, or I'll start crying like a big girly man.

  12. Hope this is the right place to post.

    I want to order ToW by DVD and I know the download version is updated with the latest patch and Moscow missions but what about the DVD?

    Unfortunately I can only get dial up where I live and so if the dvd isn't patched I dread downloading the patch,is there any way a cd with the patch on it could be included in the sale or is the pushing it a bit.

    Any help appreciated.
