  1. Yes that battle will be bloody as shown by the destruction of an entire Russian Army. Only a few more and we can once again be on the way to Moscow.

I hereby present you with the Iron Cross for your accomplishments. Remember if you get in real trouble General we will make you a field marshal and as you KNOW no field marshal has ever surrendered.

Think about that how does Field Marshal Blashy feel. It can happen keep up the good works.

  2. This is something I will need to see to know if it works. SF/Commando's in Corps and Army level just seem overboard. Maybe fun but I dont think our entire SF/Seals/Force One etc is equal to a corps. Is this basically Rangers and up for type.

When I was in we were allowed 1000 total SF. There was the 5th Gp in Nam, 1st & 10th in Germany and Bragg. I know that number has been raised but 100000 seems a bit much.

  3. Be advised you know not what you talk about. I recommended he sell at $100 he sold at $155 since he tries to top I do not. As to exactly which version he bought I never asked him. He knows how to buy bankrupty stock as I do.

Your personal attacks have gone to far. You are a rude obnoxious person who I will not discuss anything with nor justify anything to. You and your religious fevor have now gone too far. I warned you once before to stop that sort of talk about my religion. I have not once said anything deragetory about yours and you have constantly called mine a doll. You are a complete and utter idiot who talks like a teenager.

As to bankruptcies you need to check with Mr Thrump he has had 3 so far and came out better in each one. Now I understand you know absolutely everything but you are also a complete and utter fool whom I will not explain things too.

Be gone fantatic. Those that can do those that cant tell us how to.

  4. Now I know you know everything Rambo you have told us so many times how great you are and how you live in poverty but now you are also a Warren Buffet of investments also.

Your concept of gambling to make money and investing for 15 minutes for long term profit just havent worked in the history of the market.

Long term solid companies is how the people in the market have always made real long lasting money. Dont think you will find a day trader billionaire. Not even sure if there is a millionare who did day trading to get there and then lasted 10 years.

I retired at age 46 from my investments and have been retired for 13 years now on that money.

While I am no longer wealthy due to factors not related to investing. Family illnesses and legal expenses verses IRS and partners in business. My first tax bill for over a million was in 93 and they went up until I retired in 95. I am not talking the total earned in 93 I am talking paid in taxes. These personal income taxes are from investments both stocks and companies.

So when you give your "sound" investment advice and your observations on how money is made please give us a basis for your conclusions because I find them lacking. Also when you call me a liar you should have a firm basis not some strange speculation. If you bought prior to the bankruptcy of course you lost your $300. All did as they always will but once the bankruptcy is accepted it is safe to buy again and you benefit from the reorganization and there keeping assests without having to pay for them.

You just need to study more closely the laws to be sure exactly when you invest so you dont go down the toilet with the bankruptcy.

Your middle son didn't make jack on K-Mart, because they were pink sheeted at .50/share! The stock was worthless, THAN the reorganization. How do I know? I threw $300 at it total, when the stock was .10/share. Were you actually trying to tell us that your middle son made $618,000, didn't happen on K-Mart. Now granted, I do buy pink sheeted companies all the time. 99% of the time, they go down the toilet & reorg. REORG = Bye-bye cash.

@SeaMonkey --- Yahoo finance is very average at best for information. The graphs suck, the message boards are even worse. I will say their "news" for stocks is good, but too late in most cases. Buy on rumor, sell on news.

Far as today's sport's line. Roger Federer will beat James Blake, no problem. Federer is a 5 to 1 favorite, so you'll have to figure out your position. Only way he loses, if he sprains an ankle.

Guess I will have to tell him to return the money cus Rambo said so. Does he need to give back the house he bought with the money also?
  6. Yep it does. I remember not too long ago when KMart declared Bankruptcy stock dropped to below 50 cents.

I was talking to my middle son about it and told him I thought that was an excellant buy for speculation. I personnally had no available funds at the time. He took my advice and bought 4000 shares. More then I would have but he is young I am old. Me I would have only bought a thousand.

Now that Kmart has bought Sears and it went over $100 a share I told him to sell. He said it was too early and finally sold at $155 a share.

I am still kicking myself for not having spent the $500 I thought of spending. Worse still I didnt tell my wife and she said had I she would have bought 10000 shares. So I am rocketing myself to the poor house.

  7. So if you are simply advancing in the opposite direction in order to make a rear action attack that seems okay.

Remember the women and children at home and how the Allies are mersilessly bombing them without any provocation from the fatherland.

Keep this in mind when you consider who must win. You are of the superior race. A race that cannot and will not be beaten.

Use that superior intellect to unleash the fury of your men against the communist. The men are willing to fight and they will win but you must show leadership as I have.

  8. Well Tims 28 is not old. You have plenty of time.

I had taken 10% of my income most of my life and saved it. I bought mutual funds and savings.

On Oct 19, 1987 the second biggest stock market crash happened. That is also my birthday. I took it as a sign to invest.

I told my wife it was time. She said okay. She still had her 401K which was about 12K and we had about 35K in investments. We kept her 401k in BP stock since it was doing good and she worked for BP. I took 5K and bought Harley Davidson stock since that was where I was working at the time.

I held the stock from Oct 87 until Jun 95. Stock split 6 times. I had started with 16000 shares. I now had 96000 shares at about 45 a share. This gave me a very tidy profit for my 5k in the amount of 4300k. I retired and have been retired since.

I still dabble in the market and did more investing during that 8 years but that one stock made my life extremely easy.

Many things have gone wrong since then which cost me many dollars but I firmly believe only way to make money is the stock market.

So 28 is nothing just look at what you know. If you think the company is good and want to own it buy it and hold it. It will produce many fold your investment.

I always wondered how the FO vehicles would survive long enough to accomplish their mission, especially the M113 variation. I presume the armor was to offer some protection from the rolling artillery barrages that were typical of a motor rifle regiment in attack. From everything I've seen though they would be to slow to escape once sighted and they are too big to hide. Infantry would be better at the job but in a fluid battlefield they would be cannon fodder. Am I way off base here? Just wondering is all. I did get to fire an AT4 in OIF, 300 meters right through a door smile.gif PMI at Paris Island rocks, different weapon but the basics of good marksmanship are the same no matter what you are shooting. You live on the East or West coast? If you ever get in my neck of the woods I'll have a cold one waiting for you I’d really like to talk shop!

The M113 is quite fast compared to armour. They are primarily used to transport men to the front though and are rarely used to carry the FO. The armour is to prevent small arms from killing those transported. Rolling artillery would rip them apart. They might stop 105 and motar shapnel but 155 and up would go through that light armour as if it was butter.

An FO can target very quickly and direct that fire very accurately or he will be dead. Did that job in Nam for many years so I was quick. The FO typically is jeep motorized even in mech infantry units. Reason is he needs mobility and low profile.

While I was in the 2/82 Armor in Germany I was in a tank as the FO. I had to leave hatch open and stand up to target though. Since no actual combat not sure how well that would have worked against an organized opponent.

    I live on West Coast.

  10. I would not ride that horse for long. This market has serous problems.

Almost 6 trillion Fed Debt, Housing will continue to fall apart those insane no interest no down loans were surely a mistake. How they thought that would never change I have no idea.

Fuel prices running at all time high.

Somewhere there has to be payment for this over useage of our resources.

I removed my money from the market in March and do not expect to go back in until I see some change of how we operate.

You cannot spend your way into profit as our present administration suggests.

  11. As infantry I only fought tanks once in the early 70's in Cambodia. We fired the anti tank weapons first not waiting for the tanks to attack. I must admit the antitank weapons did no damage to the tanks and once we were out of antitank ammo we ran.

Attacking with infantry while the tanks are still active will quickly result in dead infantry. So unless you fire those antitank guns prior to attacking you are sure making life short for the poor grunt.

While assigned to 1st Arm Div 2/82 Arm in Germany mid 70's we would constantly train with our anti tank using it offensively. It was our job to sneak up close enough to fire our antitank weapons at the opponent. Not to wait for the armor to engage and then we wait behind the armor for them to come to us. Normally we would try to coordinate our fire with the tanks to confuse the enemy armor and make them decide which to target.

Towed Antitank ie jeep mounted guns are very quick and hopefully can close on the opponent using cover to fire. They then quickly get the hell out of dodge. Never actually used this weapon but saw its deployment often during exercises in Germany.

Now I also taught at the Army War College in Carsile in the late 70's. I was a tactical instructor for senior officers. I was a civilian instructor by then. According the the Field Manual at the time antitank was to attempt to destroy all armored vehicles prior to committing infantry. Reason for this is obvious though. With no antitank the infantry cannot harm the tank.

I know in the movies the infantry man runs up and jumps on the tank opens the top and throws in a grenade. There were a few open top vehicles where this might work but most tanks just dont let you do that.

SP guns typically are used by the FO. They stay back and do not engage in the battle directly if they can avoid it. When I was in 1st Cav 1/77 Arty I used them often primarily as bunker busters.

I do not remember ever seeing a tank destroyer anywhere. I am sure they exist but I have not seen them deployed and suspect they are used pretty much like tanks but I have no real knowledge about them.

I am sure they can be used defensively also but all the units I served with where designed for offense so we rarely trained in sitting and waiting for the enemy. We trained to go get him.
