Unfortunatelly, with my damn PC,
i only can play the mission untill the soviet tanks enter the battlefield, then its to slow.
My new PC should be here in a few weeks, then i can play it again .
But what i saw in the editor you a did a real great job with the triggers  ,
It's also very nice to learn that stuff because your descriptions inside the triggers.
Thanks a lot

In the case some busy missionbuilders need such stuff i made some clean briefingmaps without any arrows, artypositions,...
2 or 3 was in game but i put them also in the folder, all others i've reworked with PS as good i can
-
Supplys doesnt need placeholders but dont forget to set them in "sleep".

Not pretty close, you can also make it a**dark with stars but it makes no senseOriginally posted by sdp:Tried to tamper with the values for lighting and weather a bit in a mission.
From what I've discovered you can come pretty close to nighttime darkness (!) but I suspect that it won't affect visibility parameters in-game very much...
...and i miss the nice thunder and lightning wich we have in Il-2

Go to the campaigneditor....add your mission to campaign / singelmissions and save.Originally posted by Pandur:oh and how to give the text message when reinforcements arive!? i know the verry basics allready oyu need "light" introduction
Now you can open the stringtable from your mission and add your messages,
i.e. SID=1 "Reinforcement have arrived", dont forget to save in the campaigneditor!
Go back to the missioneditor and add the send message command in your reinforcement trigger.
Should looks like that:
ReinforcementLand( Group , "Group_sherman_1" )
ReinforcementLand ( GROUP , "Group_sherman_2" )
ReinforcementLand ( GROUP , "Group_sherman_3" )
ReinforcementLand ( GROUP , "Group_sherman_4" )
SendMessage ( "1" , 10000 )
Delay ( 15000 )
ClearMessage ( "1" )
Halt
ENDIF

Great, multiple waypoints and no more stop if moving direction change
That could make the infantry more effective against tanks because they can engage them faster.

I play on min. hardwarespecs (P4 2.7, 1GiG RAM, Gf-6600GT) but with medium shadows the game is running very nice but as soon i scroll over just a few houses my FPS drop down to diashow, contolling a fight in a small village is impossible for me
Changing texturedetail to minimum and disable shawdows also makes no difference!
I dont understand why those, more or less usless, houses eat so much perfomance, they dont have high deatiled textures, no complex damage system, no firepositions,...

Thats the result from my first steps with the editor
I made it only to learn the basics like placing units, support, supplys, static demage and working win/lose conditions, weather,.....

Thats great news, thanksOriginally posted by Moon:Yes, you can delete (and edit) existing objects, too.

I just hope its also possible to remove objects like trenches and houses.Originally posted by Moon:You can make new missions already with the mission editor that ships with TOW. Allows yout to select an existing map and do a completely different mission on it with different forces and goals. The Map Editor is there to, additionally, be able to manipulate the maps, too.

IMO that should be added to high priority list for the first patch.

Of corse, as soon we can mod the sounds in Il-2Originally posted by Moon:I believe that some IL-2 modders found a way (TOW is using a beefed up IL-2 engine) , but I don't think that there is any "official" tool. However, I might be wrong...

BTW:whats about customskins like in Il-2,
should be possible?

The mapsize from Officers game, a mapeditor and all known bugs fixed would makes me the happyest guy in the whole universe
-
Wich games you talk about?Originally posted by Moon:rofl, last I checked, 2x2km is about 1 megazillion times bigger than the next comparable RTS game.
I just dont understand why you (1C) create a RTS game with realistic fireranges but the maps was so small that you cant move your tanks around because you was allmost all the time in firerange
Seems to me its more a campergame then a RTS or tactical game

Sorry, but who cares about the non playable size?Originally posted by Moon:War Raven, you won't be able to change the terrain mesh, but you will be able to edit other significant aspects, like placing buildings for example, trees, trenches etc. At least that's what I'm hearing from 1C, I have not yet actually been able to try it myself.
But yes, there will also be (some) new maps supplied by us.
BTW, keep in mind that a "map" in TOW is MUCH bigger than the playable area. You can find completely different terrain on the very same map by changing the definition and location of the playable terrain. Effectively, you get a completely new terrain layout in that way.
Martin
2x2km is the biggest playable size we have and that must be just a joke

Mapeditor, Sherman Firefly, 8.8 Flak,... ?Originally posted by Moon:DOBERmann, the team is still working on the bug fixing part so I cannot say much about it. What I can say though is that we're going to add a very nice surprise as well (actually a couple).

You right, i just missed the box on turretOriginally posted by flintlock:The model is fine. Perhaps it's the shadows being cast that confuse you.
Looks a lil bit strange without it

Whats happend with the M-10?Originally posted by flintlock:Is the 3d modell buggy or is that just the angle of view, for me it looks like the turret is to close to the front

Reminds me a little bit to the UFO show in Il-2 series.
Tons of usless planes wich never flew in combat but for some real important things, i.e. Me-109 F4 still cant carrying bombs,
there was no time or whatever
-
M7 Priest would be only an easy Target because TOW cant handle indirect fire as far i know.
Check the Hummel and the Wespe, they only can shot a straith line, maybe thats the reason why the removed the mortars from the game  .
