  1. It just doesnt feel like a campaign to me..Feels more like a bunch of single player missions intertwined with a campaign map that says 'look at how far you've made it!'

Is there any way to see my force pool? Customize my orbat? Or order reinforcements? How about a way to look at my overall campaign progress, or even SELECT my next mission?

I played through the TF Thunder mission and just felt like it was mission after mission.

Mission x - Oh yay a SBCT mission where I'm taking a town

Mission y - Oh...a Armored battalion fighting tanks.

    Mission z - oh ok..now I have hmmm's in another town.

    Where's the CAMPAIGN structure?

I recently bought Matrix Games latest remake of Close Combat 5, called Close Combat: The Longest Day. It actually features Brits, Canadians, Americans and Germans. Its not bad, but the great thing about it is the CAMPAIGN. You see your losses, and can decide your own fate at the stategic level....you can see each battalions equipment #'s and can customize your orbat.

I post this due to my recent start at the Marines campaign (havent gotten to the Brits yet)

I started the campaign up, and my initial thought was...'ok not this AGAIN'. Campaigns just feel...empty..like a fire and forget mission.

  2. Well the problem is...CM (all moduals) are uninstalled from my old laptop, but I didnt manually unlicense the Marines mod...so that laptop has a license floating around somewhere. There are no CM files left, so I'm not sure how to unlicense.

  3. This talks about unlicensing modules. I'm uncertain how it applies to a module bundle. When you purchased the bundle, did you receive a single license key or a key for each module?

If you don't have any luck, perhaps you ought to kick it upstairs to the Battlefront helpdesk?

I just got 1 license key with the bundle. But it initially worked for both on the install

I went ahead and unlicensed the version from my desktop...since I'll be using my laptop in Iraq..Thats unfortunate though. Too bad you cant manage this online or something. Thanks for the help!

  4. "christmas tree lights" and "anal bead" ? care to explain what that means? (certain ways of trigger IEDs I understand, but exactly how?)

The Christmas Light initiation is pretty simple.

The two wires are seperated apart, and then used as a crush wire..Victim operated. When a vehicle drives over the two wires touch and the circuit is closed.

  5. Back in 2006 one U.S. source put the number at something like Abrams 60-80 'write-offs'

Well the great thing (or so I'm told) about the Abrams and General Dynamics is that they havent had to produce a single tank single tank since the late 1980's...Thats right, even the M1A2's are just refurbished M1A1's.

Tanks that are blown up are eventually sent back to General Dynamics and used to refurbish other tanks. The same (again, so I'm told) applies to Stykers. Any time a Stryker is hit by an IED or takes serious frame damage it's coded out and used for parts.

all you need to do is rupture a fuel line, cooling system, or a number of other fairly routine things and that's that.

Thats definitely NOT easy. The rear armor on the Abrams is still pretty thick.

  6. Here's the situation:

There is an enemy sniper in a building about 600m away.

I have a Squad equipped with a javelin in an another building overlooking the sniper's building.

Is there any way to fire the javelin without exposing the whole squad while they fire their weapons.

I'm having trouble with this. I tried to give the command to my AT squad, but in the time it takes for the Javelin Soldier to aquire the target, the team consolidates back into the squad. Also, when the Javelin Soldier does have enough time, his buddies are also firing.

Basically, I'm asking..is it possible to fire JUST the javelin?

  7. The reasoning in my mind was that they were high on meth and/or painkillers. I had fewer problems, I used Javelins to suppress/destroy MG positions and used close assault by my scouts (I know, don't bite my head off) to get the ATGMs. The only tricky part was bunkers by the main road. Out of my 12 killed, 9 were from the teams I'd tasked with clearing those bunkers out.

4 Javelins into a building, and the building should collapse. Thats my point.
