@crazyman it depends not on your speed between you modem and your pc (54mb-34mb) but it depends on your download speed. You can find it by your provider.

@rcmp there are multiple speed compression 1/1 1/2 1/4/ 1/8 and there is an pause option to give orders i thought i read there where 8 speed compression times you CANNOT speed things up only slow them down. dont know about the MP

@devildog0514 Just depends how much bandwith they share to each connection. Many servers will not go over the 300kb p/s then it will take a lot longer then when i can download at full speed like 1.7mb p/s then it will take me only 30 mins at top. I havent heard anything about the max bandwith. Moon or Mattmatt can you check how much the bandwith is????? tnx

@MikoyanPT the 88's where an important piece of equipment for the germans in early war. Never heard of rommel in france /egypt but more important russia 1941 when the germans first met the t34. If they had not had them it would be a disaster for army group centre. The only weapon against the t34 was an 88. This costed them to much time (and armor) so the germans didnt arrive near moscow before the winter had started.

Hi Gface, first let me tell you iam 37 and i like ww2 games too. I think what i read from your post this game will be to your liking because is not to big. I too like to play games against oponents and but i like also the big scenario's like peiper when you have more then a thousand soldiers. But when the game comes out i like to play an battle with you. Dont know if iam a good adversarie but ill give it an try. Doesnt matter if its big or small just give me a mail. pwncake@gmail.com

@ DeLaVega, plz tell me what iam doing wrong. I got an e6600 2gig ram @800mhz an 88000gtx. Which drivers do you use because i can install the game then go to the start page can select an mission read the mission but when i start the game i only get an black screen (dont know if i hear sounds) I had a discussion on an other thread did those things but didnt work. pls help me

Mikoyan, IL2 and CMBB are different styles of games. IL2 is more to the liking of many people then cmak/cmbb so more people will buy them. I like strategy more so i bought only cmbb/cmak and NO IL2. Now that there is an strategy game on IL2 engine ill buy the game not for the graphics (would have bought Crisis) And for me TOW is an apettizer for CMSF because i still like to do missions like PEIPER in kharkov and this is not possible in TOW. That stated iam still looking forward for this game (not only because my 8800gtx cannot play CMBB OR CMAK anymore and have to go back to my old pc) I dont know how the sounds will be but i reccon that they will be modded if the sound is disappointing. But what i read from Moon the sounds will rock so i trust his word.

HI Moon, plz answer this question there is an whole topic over it. WHY NOT THE 88. This is in my opinion much more strange then when i cannot enter a building or not. You say its more for the other 90% of the battles that TOW is about. WTF am i doing in july fortyone in Russia when some t34's are comming. Just piss the hell out of them or kindly say that they have to return when the patch is ready which has an 88. Sorry but can you at least give me details of which gun comes available at a certain time. Because as i sayed in the other topic how are the germans going to destroy mathilda 2 tanks and t34's in the early stages of ww2 I find this more frustrating then entering a building or not.(still would love to do that too)

you mean the slot on your laptop its normally for a networkcard or extra card for mmc slots or for connecting to other devices like scsi. but you CANNOT put an videocard in that slot. So the best is try the demo (post before me) and buy an new desktop (*cheaper) i like nvdia videocards more then ATI but everyone has his own liking My videocard is an 8800gtx with 768MB mem

Kettenhund, you know the story from Erwin Rommel in France about the tanks he had to destroy and could only do it with 88's otherwise he had lost. How am i to do that with an pak40 with was invented more then a year later??????? not to mension the pak43 which was intreduced even later?? Maybe that scenario isn't in? Or where there panzer3 ausfurung J already in may 1940???? Just thought that the 50mm was used from 41 and not 40 Still hope they fix this in there next update. Otherwise you get in MP always people who buy tanks which cannot be destroyed (maybe lucky shot)

dphillipsd, your video card is not goed enough its an intergraded videocard, i understand you only have an laptop. I think you better upgrade to a desktop because if you want to buy an new laptop it will cost you more to get the same hardware results. At least try to buy an 256mb videocard to get nice details. they are arround 60 euros (agp) And its not possible to put an better videocard in your laptop.

thats not so good. how do we suppose to destroy tanks in the early forty's because the pak43 wasnt available then. can we buy them instead of the flak's or are we screwed when we encounter an t34 and we have no way of destroying it?

redonmyhead, tanks do not disappear (dont know about inf) and you can even send some inf to capture the tank and use it (depends on their experience and some things) you have an special key for letting inf cover behind tanks to advance. for your at's the are hard to spot only when you fire the spot the smoke and then you are in trouble.(these can also be captured by inf and used if the AT is not destroyed)

Moon question, someone above already had the same question if we pre order can we download the game later this week when the pre order opens or do we have to wait until the 19 of april?

i have a e6600 dual core with a 8800gtx. maybe i can see some butterfly´s and 2gigs of ram. so i dont think that a minimum of 2.6ghz is alot now a days. But i understand that not everybody buys a new system every year. Personaly i cant wait to play this game and see how the games lookes against cmbb or cmak.

Still playing HOI2 only strategic with divisions but it is still a good game . But i hope i can stop this one this month to play tow. but i think iam still playing hoi2 after the summer. (maybe going for a look for the russian version of tow with the updates)

GS_Hinkel, i have read many times that the penetrations are fixed in the euro version. Also the distances are corrected. And also irw the tiger was much better than a panther not only with his better armor but also his big gun 88 instead of 75mm What i read from Mattmatt is that when they got the version they had the same probs and they corrected it and many more bugs thats why we still have to wait; Now the only thing i can say is you can play the game with bugs i only can read about it that it is delayed again and again and again and .... you know what i mean.

thx endly some good news that my 8800gtx will work with TOW because i cant seem to get it running cmak or cmbb :mad: :mad: Had already an question about that but tried those settings and it still wont get any 3d screen. Do any of you which have this card the same problems???? tia

Hi all, i read your stories and i have some questions about the foot soldiers. I thought that german doctrine said for every division, 2 on front and 1 in the back for reffiting or local reserves. And from al the thing a read where the germans in attack always depended on armor. So nearly all attacks including foot soldiers on the eastern front was backuped by armor. I thought that the doctrine was first have small groups probe the frontline to seek out the weak spot then move up the pioneers to make lanes in the minefield then have all arty blast the hell out of the spot. And attacked by armor (normaly the haviest tanks on the front to take hits from antitank units and behind it mark4 en 3's)When they broke throught they rushed to destroy supply lines and arty. By then the foot soldiers will come thru the gap and try to widen it more. This is how blitzkrieg was preformed. By attack with armor and mobile division and leave all strongpoints for the inf which came much later. Now my question regarding TOW is can i use the same tactics as the germans by bypassing strongholds en rushing to the next map to destroy there reinforsments and later destroy the stronghold with my inf. Or do we play from map to map? And also can the enemy retreat when i have already rushed him to the next map?????? tia

Hi Schrullenhaft, tnx for your reply i installed the latest 680 drivers from nvidia en installed the latest drivers from nvidia for my 8800 but i didnt uninstall the drivers before. Try that option tonight. I use only one display and the black screen is when you can setup up your forces so i reccon thats the 3d area. All the patches for xp sp2 are applied so thats not the answer. hope you got some other tries because i dont think uninstalling the video driver will help my problem tia

Hi all , i used cmbb en cmak for a long time now but recently i got a new rig. An evga 680i SLI MOBO and an 8800gtx. Now when i want to play a game in cmbb en cmak i get a black screen. I can select a game and see the information but when i wanted to start a game i get a black screen. I read hear already that it has something to do with antilysing. I went to my antilysing and put it off but still no screen. tried other drivers but no help there. Also read that i need to use old drivers. AHUM there are no old drivers for this card. WTF do i have to now so i can play again??? tia pwncake
