  1. i wouldve thought the campaign system in CC was the best thing going for it pity we cant have similar with this game in all honesty, this graphics style with the CM interface and wego play.bigger maps of course, would be about perfect for me. theres so much beauty to behold in this game that the game play system doesnt really allow the player time to get down and view it.
  2. i just avoided them and took the objective, although there is one near the station i had to kill off. once i got the required amount of troops into the VL,i got the win message, easy enough it seems as the T34s dont appear to come hunting for you either
  3. try harder sunshine theres another post on how some of us got through it titled ,dunkirk, funnily enough
  4. i said deeper than CC,yes,as far more thought is needed to sucessfully win a mission, without getting wiped off the map. ive yet to find a mission i cant win with the correct thought and planning as far as realistic is concerened, neither of them are, they are just games not sims. as i said before,if you seen or played any of 1Cs games you should see the similarities some issues i can see that need attention have already been posted in other threads
  5. well i just avoided those T34s and headed straight for the objective.i did have to deal with another one.but i had 5 tanks available to take it out at point blank range, lost 3 tanks doing it as expected the russian armor is fairly lethal far too good for the german armor.with no air support to be seen in the 3 campaign missions so far. life is fairly hard for the wehrmacht.
  6. after 4 or 5 years of CM,its a nice change of pace certainly more like CC but deeper path finding is alittle poor, sure itll improve as the patches come out im sure i can manage the troops and scale of the engagements ok,not easy to win but i dont want a walkover either. no lag for me,,apparently AMD users are suffering lag or poor performance, again im sure it can be resolved a few game issues could be resolved as im sure they will anyone playing any other of 1Cs games should see the resemblance in this game, faces of war , etc spent money on far worse than this,,SH4 is a prime example as was SH3,,bug city and unplayable for alot of people at first release. its cheap too, compared to the other big name crap going around.for top dollar and surely riddled with issues,as seems the norm for most games these days i can still remember the bugs in cmbo too,,but patience is a virtue
  7. i attacked through the middle with a timed attack and rush i went with the stock forces but i chose the crews wisely.used the best driver and gunners etc 3 platoons stormed the center guns as the panzers came over the top of the hill, heading for the bridge trigger point, arty, ied the town at the same time captured and used the 3 guns in the center and turned them on the enemy,i lost most of my casualities manning and remanning the captured guns once i secured the bridge it was a matter of time,,the reinforcements arrived and rushed to the center bridge, whilst the truck carrying troops and AT guns floundered trying to cross their own bridge,,took 10 minutes of clicking get the stupid mugs to get across the bridge, anyway once i got them to the village the remaining char b and 1 somua tank, bugged out
  8. yea i already posted this in another thread, bug report
  9. maybe we need a sticky here ok i may have found a bug involving grenades or explosives ive been getting into the finer aspects of the game using individual soldiers and manual weapon selection and use it appears when manually selecting a grenade or explosive attack,on a field gun lets say,the troops seem to always throw long,by around 20 yards? i thought maybe it was green troops being a little unskilled for this work,so i used some of my better exp troops,,same effect i then tried by using the area target command and it does indeed appear they throw long. perhaps a few others could try it out and report. so for now you can still use it like this but you have to allow for it and throw short using the area target function,or A key the mission in question was german campaign battle 2 dunkirk on regular Char B tanks are certainly best avoided, they are untouchable
  10. how do i tell my boss wife etc i wont be in for a few days when this is released?i cant seem to find it in the manual?
  11. certainly hard work,i spent a fair bit of time in the selection screen organizing what initial force to use i decided on all 3 of the pak 40s,2 squads of panzerschrek squads,1 mg34,1 rifle platoon, and 1 panther. i abandoned the AT guns at the start and ran into the trenches and hid and cease fire everyone til they got withing 500 yards or so the panther had a nice hulldown posi just to the right of the bridge, popped him out to halt the enemy tanks everynow and then, til they got a gun hit on him,,still used him as a decoy, which let the AT guns get to work, they got across the bridge through weight of numbers, but the 2nd wave of german tanks really gave em hell on top of the hill. one thing i noticed it doesnt appear you can view the battle ground after the battle ala CM? this would be a nice little feature to allow the morbid to view the aftermath?that is of course if i didnt miss something?
  12. im sure i saw someone running it on an old Ti200? so you should get away with it
  13. yes martin, you surmised it well *beardy* means a tad unrealistic or unsportsmanlike. dont get me wrong though.im not complaining,as its quite clear you could in fact target empty guns i assume,if your opponent decides to do this. its only the AI that cant use there brain to target empty guns or vehicles in this manner.
  14. oh yea babe,,tough battle on regular, using superior skills and undeniable talent:P.i have saved berlin from certain defeat couldnt stop em getting over the bridge, but i made the red hordes pay dearly for their treachery top game top fun
  15. step 1 did it for me.a rather beardy way of achieving the result but effective nonetheless
  16. onya cobber good work mate, maybe you can get some sleep soon huh? Salute!
  17. ok why not P4 3.2 prescott AGP 6800 ultra 2 gig ddr 400 audigy2 runs fine at full settings so far. hehe, sorry couldnt resist the screenie
  18. right mouse button i believe.click it in the direction you want
  19. no issues for me with an ancient AGP 6800 ultra:P looking at the SFS files it does appear to be IL2 engine based, which isnt exactly new,the upside to this is those with IL2 will know all the performance tweaks already. i enjoyed the training missions uptil the red defence mission where i was struggling to keep my AT guns alive for more than a few minutes, cant seem to hide them at all and they certainly dont like being placed in the trenches,i may have missed it,but is there a dig in command? seems to be far too exposed in a defensive situation, its only a demo so im not too fussed and ive only briefly studied the manual so far quite looking forward to the full game and put the MP to the test. the sounds may be a liitle on the weak side, but im sure we can mod them later. troop management wasnt to much of a problem, having played alot of large CM battles its was quite easy to get around the map quickly, once i got used to the camera i like the lock LOS to unit view, and the LOS and LOF data icons are easy to work with. i have vista on another machine and it does seem to run well enough, although the usual sound issues with vista are apparent. most pro gamers still have XP on their systems aswell,so ill stick to XP for the foreseeable future, vista offers nothing for gaming at this stage for me at least. thanks to BFC and 1C for getting this off the ground, alot of us have been watching its dev for a few years now. happy its finally here Salute!
  20. you think you got problems i ordered a new alfa romeo 4 months ago with 15k up front,im still waiting for it to arrive in the country. gimme a break people expecting the world for a few bucks, really make me laugh.
  21. long time no see jeff best wishes are with you mate regards Simmox
  22. not exactly a noob myself 40 odd from adelaide south australia some know me from CM, first wargame on pc i can remember was perfect general. grabed CmBO the moment i saw the demo in a magazine here in oz,pure luck i found it,bought and played all the CM series, played well over a thousand pbems, until i just couldnt face the carnage any longer.currently on vacation from CM. still into IL2 series mainly online rFactor racing sims looking forward to the pre order arriving and hope to get some MP action with some old foes cheers cobbers
  23. well if it gets the support that IL2 does ill certainly be happy,if not initially,im sure, down the track itll get better, like a fine wine. ive been into il2fb since the beginning,Cm since the beginning, the 2 together is bound to be impressive. im in III/JG11
