  1. have them fall amongst an artillery strike too.
  2. If you were designing a tank in a world where ATGM's are that deadly you would make the room. Easily too. Don't mount a coax and have the AAD usable as a secondary weapon when you take it off AAD mode.
  3. "The Flag" is a bit of an arbitary concept anyway so why shouldn't infantry pick it up. If nessecary require that it takes 4 men to pick it up.
  4. While i'm in a griping mood. Why the hell does a single Infantry squad need a whole big dropship to land them, especially as they can fly. I think they would be a lot harder to detect if instead of dropping via dropship they appeared at dropship height under their own power.
  5. I've got a bit of a problem with the Hermes. That has become it seems the favourite item in CTF. My gripe is that if you can fit that AAD package in that little thing then every thor MBT should have one on the turret for AAD against ATGM's (similar to the AD MG on soviet tanks). Whatever your "Currency" be it materials, time, energy the Thor is worth more than a paladin and if the technology exists its almost criminal not to use it.
  6. right but the acceleration / thrust phase of a current ATGM / ATM / RPG is incredibly short. After that it is just another ballistic object with little wings. The Tow glides for around 20 seconds for a thrust of 1.5 seconds was what I was saying. The difference is that an ATGM uses a shaped charge warhead and isn't relying on the kinetic energy. There has been talk of Hypervelocity missiles and Sheaf missiles. They still only have a very short but incredibly powerfull thrust phase.
  7. How about an apply logic to all points button?
  8. Clay has kindly uploaded my latest Mission. Rumble in the Jungle. A ctf mission in a heavily junglish environment. Equipment is limited to Infantry and light vehicles only. (one Mercury per side so preserve them). If any Kind soul with a good connection would be interested in hosting this I'd like to check it in MP. you can get it here:- Rumble in the Jungle CTF
  9. Missiles don't get faster over time unless they are multistage ( which no-one has done yet to my knowledge). A missile burns out all its fuel in a very short time IRL and then relies on momentum and sometimes a sustainer motor to reach its target. The TOW for example burns all its fuel in the first 1.5 seconds of its 22second mission time. However I agree that the infantry are a little weak. If you look at the current world arsenal there are plenty of things that could have an analogie within the DT universe. I was Hoping the 20mm would be more of a single shot AMR ( Anti Materiel Rifle) like the M-82 light barrett or the 20mm version (or even maybe like the WW2 finnish / soviet Lahti 20mm AT rifle). In the rifle squad maybe one of the guys could have a 12 shot AT grenade launcher like the MM1 or the 6 shot 6G30 soviet equivalent. To me the most usefull role the inf could have now is in MP with a human player they would make great scouts / recon for other humans.
  10. Yet another Version uploaded. Thanks Clay. This one solves a few problems I found while making my latest scenario. Also added a height clip mask (the < and > buttons on the main page. This is for finding where water will lie etc.
  11. it would be nice if in the infantry the same key that selects coax in tanks selects Rate of fire. Have 2 rates of fire burst and single shot. Only for the 10mm and the 20mm rifles of course.
  12. Gday, Done an update to the .scenario file to change the teams inventories. Get it here:- Updated scenario file.
  13. Another Version uploaded today. (same link) This corrects an error in the Inventory system. Also uploaded a copy of the fractal tile generator I wrote for myself. Tile Generator. The 3 top entry boxes are for the min and max range for RGB. The copy R>G etc copy the bitplanes from one layer to another. the clip entry allows you to limit the ranges ( and produce holes / plateaus in the bitplanes) the get colours button allows you to select an image to get the colour ranges from ( say to want to make the colours sympathetic to one of the hi-res textures). The redraw button will redraw ( and save ) the image with any changes you've made. Images are generated as img{number}.bmp and start numbering at 0 every time the program starts. It saves them to whichever folder the exe is in.
  14. I have a few issues with the Infantry. 1. The walking animation makes them look like they have S**t themselves. 2. The fact that given nothing else to do and especially under bot control they just stand there. If in doubt they should go prone or maybe have a Kneel posture with a slightly improved aiming that they go into. 3. Jump jets have too little juice in them and its vectored too downward. It should be slightly vectorable so you can do low skimming hops.
  15. OK the latest version is uploaded... Thanks Clay
  16. Sorry meant to add a question too. Clay if you use an inventory list in a mission does it mean that any items not listed are not available to either side or that they are available in default amounts?.
  17. OK I've updated Quickfrac and emailed it to Clay for upload. Added:- menu items to the main page for rotating the height field left or right. Added invetory creator in the scenario object page. This is based on the format of the archapelego scenario. The left hand list is the names of items listed in the default inventory.xml. The right hand list is what will be written to the inventory txt file. It is populated at start by the numbers in the default setup. You can remove items from this list using backspace. Add items to the list by enterng values for team one and team 2 and clicking add. This will add the selected item from the left list to the right list with the values. Alternatively you can select an item from the right list. edit its values and click update. This will remove the item. reset its values and re-add it to the list ( at the bottom)
  18. Yes Sorry... neither have I been...
  19. Gday, If its possible to set the units available in a mission how about coming up with some TO&E's. These could be then made into templates and easily put into missions. That way you could easily set say a light recon company holding out against a heavy armoured regiment.

    Favorite AFV

Hurricane or Tempest. I like the combination of speed and firepower. There is a saying that goes "Quantity has a quality all of its own" well I think you can also say "Speed has an armour value all of its own"
  21. 66mb... Hell does it come gold plated....
  22. Huge "Hammers Slammers" fan here
  23. Your ideas have merit but there is one flaw.. if you have different equipment on each side you'll get bitching. Go spend 30 mins on the il2 channel at hyperlobby to see that... "you only beat me cos the 109 is overmodelled... booo hoo" etc etc. Having said that I like some of you vehicle ideas. Bieng a huge "Hammers Slammers" fan I want a 170 ton hover panzer with a 20cm power gun that can kill anything... on a more sensible note i would love to see a tempest armed with the 76mm
  24. Funny enough I made the Golan Heights Map for Steel Beasts Pro PE.
