Me, I like big pictures well organised on nice paper!
I always try to get in at the off on these big production numbers. They are always going to be limited run as with any niche luxury item. Preordering on Amazon is a good way to track the progress, they will always give one a heads-up if the pub date slips, and it's easy to keep a track of once pub dates are confirmed. Otherwise folks like Panzerwrecks have very effective emailing lists and early adopters notifications.
I preordered this one myself when it was released. I figured this would sell out quickly and triple in price at least. Beautiful book worth every penny. Unique titles like this are a must in my collection.

Thanks for the glowing endorsements gentlemen, makes it an easy purchase.
Not sure why I never got around to that one, but I'll remedy it now.
So good I bought it twice. Also Between the Oder and the Elbe by Tieke, Wilehlm: New Hardcover (2006) 1st Edition | J.M. Brown (abebooks.com) Check out the small map section underneath. That is a supplemental map that is included. Its a 24"x36" color street map of Berlin on one side and a color battle map on the other. Beautiful and excellent book translated to English.

I agree if you're gonna put a 90mm gun in there the crew should have better armor protection.

I can't believe they sent 300 of them to Europe before the war's end. Wild. I wonder how close they were actually deployed to the frontlines.
They were pretty effective in Korea against the T-34/85. They had reliability issues due to the engine and transmission I believe.

I am currently reading Escaping the Trap (tamupress.com). An excellent account of the X Corps in Korea in 1950. This book gives mostly the US Army side of the campaign, Task Force Faith etc. As usual Lt. Col. Appleman goes into great detail on the hell of Chosin and though outnumbered the US Army and Marines fought with everything they had in horrendous conditions. If you like detailed operational reading you will really enjoy it.

I believe there is a third volume of this coming out in April for those interested. Covers the final phases of the fighting in Hungary and retreat into Austria. Ideal accompaniment to Fire & Bubble ...
Great thanks for the heads up!

I certainly wouldn't mind a module in this time period but one thing on the wish list was always CMKW. KW= Korean War. Of course CM Pacific Theater would be first!

Anyone really desperate for some flaktower action can always fire up Sniper Elite 2 and get to singlehandedly work their way to the top. It may not be too historical but it is an interesting experience nevertheless.
Good game I do remember the flak tower.

I'm reading the same book ...
Not only did they pack a nasty punch but they had a 'decent' reach also...atleast one of them engaged the ruskies at 13000 meters out it seems.
That had to be an amazing shot. Think about the variables the height of the tower, the angle of depression possible wind, target size and range. Those guns weren't normally used for aimed shots. I have both editions of Bloody Streets but I haven't read the second yet. I don't remember too much about the flak towers.

Expensive, but worth the money if you like details like I do. His other books are also very good.
Btw, there's also a reprint of Robert Forsyth Mistel book, in case any Luftwaffe fans are reading this. Hope they will also republish his book on the Galland Circus (JV 44).
The Galland Circus book is one I've had my eye on for a long time.

Last panzer battles in Hungary | PeKo Publishing (pekobooks.com)
Not cheap but this looks pretty good. About $50 on Amazon.

The Bitter Woods by John S.D. Eisenhower and Snow And Steel by Peter Caddick- Adams are two excellent books on the Battle Of The Bulge.

If you see any video of a ATGM or RPG fired in a building you'll see it rearranges the room.

Nice! Sounds alot like the story of PVT John R. Towle except he died during Market Garden.
