  1. I myself wondered why half loop didn't counter half loop. Dan's explanation makes very good logical sense.
  2. Yes, Indeed. May Santa be kind to the DiF staff and to you Mistura, Zonzo, Sixxkiller and all the folks that helped bring the new campaigns to us all.
  3. Figures, the bundle is released while I'm at work But looking forward to trying all the good stuff out tonight!
  4. The only time I ever purchase the IMS2:D card is if I use a high level pilot that has lost his Escape Death. I thought it would be a quick (dirty, sleezy) way to try to gain the ED back (ie, quickly killing the opponents without receiving damage). I have purchased it 5 times, and have been successful in using the IMS2:D three of those times. To my dismay, I have yet to regain ED. I have never purchased it, nor do I ever intend to purchase it, when playing a human online.
  5. Very good. Thanks for your hard work, Brian. I am still blown away by the fact that I can communicate directly with the designer and programmer(s) of a world class PC game. Not only can I communicate with you, but you respond in a very quick fashion. Thanks again.
  6. The occurrence of extremly high fatigue has plagued me as well. It appears to only happen to my pilots with 2000+ xp. In a 1v1 dogfight in which my leader, Tornado Tom, shot down both enemy fighters and was not damamged he received around 230 fatigue points! I can not wait for the new fatigue changes. He has received as much as 334 for one mission.
  7. This is probably related to the issues I brought up under my "Trouble joining human online games" topic.
  8. As a paying customer let me also say Yes - thanks to all involved.
  9. Very funny post, Ray. Very, very funny. Tornado Tom
  10. Stikman and I had problems seeing each others games last night, and we noticed that as long a a player attempted to launch a game with a pilot that had a moderate amount of points (roughly 20-25 and above) other players could see it. If a player attempted to launch a game with a pilot with very little XP and/or skills, then noone could see the game. A very low ranking player can and was able to join a game created by a moderate pilot. I do not know what logic prevents a low rated pilot from being able to launch a human v human game. SixxKiller and I discussed this issue very early this morning and I gave him an illustration, he may be able to give you more assistance.
  11. LOL, yes Brain I hit the refresh button several times. I did update my WIndows XP, and there was an update for .NET, but even after the update I am still having problems "seeing" other players games and they are having problems seeing mine- most everyone I've spoken to online is having this problem.
  12. fej425, you and I have it bad my friend - I do the exact same thing - as a matter of fact, I'm at work now!
  13. My XP updates are set for automatic. I'll check the Microsoft website just to make sure though. Thanks, Ray.
  14. I experienced several strange occurences this weekend when I attempted to create/join online games against human opponents. I first noticed the problem on Thursday, Dec. 8. When I attempted to join an online game created by another player I could not "see" the game. I then attempted to create a game and allow him to join. He could not "see" my game. We both logged out and then logged back on, but the problem persisted. After we had each created about 3 games we were finally able to play one - but ONLY one. When that game ended the original problem occured again. I thought it might be a fluke, but it happened to me several times on Saturday and yesterday. The number of online players (best guess, here) varied from 6 to 12 at differnt times when this occured. Do you know if anyone else has dealt with this?
  15. I have also experienced the problem with manuevering and IMS cards as described above. It has happened in three seperate missions. In one mission 9 out of 10 cards were IMS. In another one, 6 out of 8 cards were manuever. Anyone else experiencing this?
  16. Hey, SO. Yes, I have seen the graphic of a bomber sweeping past a downed pilot once or twice - it struck me as odd. But apparently the pilot was indeed a target.
  17. I had wondered why sometimes I saw the graphic of an aircraft sweeping past a parachute. Thanks, learned something else new for the day. I don't recall if I saw that animation or not in this case. That was most likely the case. Thanks again, Brain.
  18. Hey Brain. I just completed an online game where my wingman got shot down (a very good wingman, unfortunately). The graphic showed him bailing out, but when the mission ended on the next turn the mission results screen showed him as killed.  I'm not sure if this has happened before, I ran a search on topics and didn't find anything about it. Just thought I'd let you know. Maybe you can bring my wingman back from the dead
  19. Both Brain and StalinsO have good points - saving up 2000 - 4000xp to buy a permanent ability isn't a trivial matter. The chances of getting shot down BEFORE you reach your purchase goal are good. I also think Brian's point is also valid - if everyone has many, many skills the skills will offset each other and in one sense become useless. My guess is that the changes will cause players (myself included) to create "specialist pilots" by having some get all offensive capabilities, some with defensive capabilities, and some with somewhat of a mix of abilities. I am not happy about my pilots losing so many abilities, but this was designed to be a STRATEGY game hence the designers are forcing us to make choices. Brian, when do you plan to cash in the skills?
  20. I can always use some easy kills Just kidding. If you've been around that long I'm sure you have some surprises for us "whippersnappers"
  21. I'm looking forward to meeting you in the not-so-friendly skies Harv.
  22. Interesting discussion. I wonder which country implemented "drop tanks" first. Any ideas?
  23. I just read about the changes - they will surely make things more interesting. First, thanks for keeping us all "in the loop." Secondly, when you guys "buy back" the permanant skills that we currently have, will we get the base XP value for that skill or the XP we had to expend to receive it?
