Anyone thinking of setting up a tourney?
dinga44 replied to Neil aka Major Tum's topic in Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord
Oh no...now I'm in trouble Hehehe Can't wait to get underway...I'm sure the scenarios that we play will be up to Slysnipers excellent standard as usual -

And just so none of you are under the missapprehension that I'm only new to this game...I've actually been playing it for years...just lost my password to my previous log in to the site...hence my "junior" status  -

I second Walker...a big thankyou again for the first tourney...and a big thankyou in advance for what surely will be another great tourney with great maps (again) I don't mind how many rounds we go...it's all good fun. I guess the only consideration is Christmas (yep it's coming around again) and we may lose some players over that period, or have games slow down quite a bit -

Hi all...as Chris Walker said, I'm in and keen...though my wife won't be pleased when she discovers this I also emailed my brother in case he is interested. He is the reason that I got into CM all those years ago and my wife will forever hate him because of it Oh, my wife also hates Chris as well because he keep me playing Dinga -
Hey all...one thought re Walkers idea of a knock out tourney and the problems associated with having a balanced game. Would it be possible (and I stress this is only a thought) that both players play the same game, as a defender and as an attacker at the same time. Effectively you would have two of the same game going at once. Or perhaps even between 3 players, playing as an attacker against one player while playing as the defender against the other player. Just a suggestion. Not sure how it would work after this, but there wouldn't need to be any modifications to the points. Sure, each player would know what they are up against and this may be an argument against doing this. Re the games...I fully agree with Melb_will re the night game. As for the other two games, I thought they were two of the best games I've ever played. Thoroughly enjoyed them, especially the swampy marsh game. Only SMALL grumble in this one was I felt I had a little too much art (as a defender). Hope everyone had a great new year...Melb_will we had a nice hot one up here in Canberra as well. I'm just hoping for a little rain Cheers, Dinga

Hi again Slysniper. Just received the file from Warhammer, so it's all sorted
-
Hi Slysniper. Still no final file from Warhammer despite quite a number of emails from home and three from my work. I did get a response to a work email saying that he hadn’t received any of the emails I’d sent from home, but still nothing despite sending the final file via work. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I first sent the move and all I need is the final file which shows my score… At present I’m at a loss as to where to go from here…any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

HA, I know I can count on you Chris for a quirky comment like that Ops my bad, it is the Norrey battle I did get an email from Warhammer yesterday asking for the file from me which I then sent...still waiting for the bounce file. I'm beginning to think there may be a problem with my email's to him  hopefully we can get it sorted in the near future  Warhammer, if you're out there, I'm trying

Has anyone heard from Warhammer in the past week. I sent him the final turn in Panzers in the Peel, but I'm still waiting for the final file with my score (despite a number of emails)...and it's driving me crazy not knowing Hopefully everything is alright

Yeah, no worries. Where do you live? Sorry the rest of you guys on the forum, I won't ask any more questions after this one. Don't want to turn it into a personal chat

Hey Ozi_digger, are you in the ACT?? I live in Isaacs

Fully agree. I have never played with this system before, but I think it is very fair. It certainly makes every point important, even if you are on the losing side Well done Sly for your innovitative approach

Hey Slysniper, Fiaros and I are up to turn 24 of 30 in "The Last Road". If it looks like we aren't going to get it finished by the weekend, I have suggested we do the last couple of turns TCP/IP. Dinga

Hi Slysniper/Kingfish. Quick post to let you know that all my games are well and truely underway. As for the maps, I really like the diversity you guys have given us...well done and many thanks once again for all the effort you have gone too. It is greatly appreciated. I'm sure Walker appreciates it as well. I'm certain he was getting sick and tired of kicking my butt

Neil, I have had to do this before and it is possible. Basically you have to copy the hotmail file (all the text) then paste it into a text file. Open this file in the game. As long as there is not other writing in the hotmail file you should be able to use Ctrl A (to select the entire file), Ctrl C (to copy the data), then open the new text file and use Ctrl V (to paste the information into it). Hope this helps

Hi Slysniper, Actually have been playing CMBO for quite a number of years and lost my old battlefront password (due to lack of use)...but I can fully understand you thinking I'm new to this I have updated my profile so my email address is available. Is this ok for you? If so send me an email and I'll give you the other players details. He has been playing CMBO for quite a number of years as well. Thanks for organising this Tourney...it's great to see

Hi Slysniper, Can you count me and one other person into the tourney if there are any spots left available. What else do I need to do for us to join in?
