I don't see how BFC has a monopoly on war games. They just choose to make/publish the best war games out there, anyone could do it. Most choose to go after fancy graphics and not care about realism to the extent that BFC does.

Like, having succesfully captured a largely intact AFV, it would take minutes for Syrian troops to figure out how to swing the turret, then learning the the targetting and firing procedures....

I hope your joking. Without an instructor I doubt they would ever figure it out.

I think stats like this are useless. I think it would all depend on who is shooting the gun and in what type of situation he is in.

That’s like saying you can kick a ball into a goal that is twenty meters away with your first shot 97% of the time. While that may be true if you were alone, I don’t think the scientist took into account the goal keeper or the eleven guys trying to stop you from kicking the ball into the goal.

Plus the gun doesn’t shot itself. What if there happened to be a bad gunner, would he still be able to hit on his first round?

Could you provide a link? This has been discussed before and in the other thread where this was discussed I posted that this was a false statement. The reason being is because the US military strictly prohibits soldiers using any other weapons other than their issued weapons. Main reason being because you use what you know/ use what you train with.

The only soldiers that would carry AK's would be like some SF guys because they don't want to stand out from the local Iraqi's or Afghani’s they are training/ leading into battle. Still then you would be hard pressed to find a fellow who would carry an AK.

I have been to both countries recently (Iraq/Afghan) and worked with many deferent units and never once saw anyone from the big army or special community carrying an AK. I served with a unit that’s standards were generally less restrictive but even we weren’t allowed to use captured weapons.

There are some American contractors who carry AK's until they can get M4's though.

To reiterate there is no US soldier who carries an AK. For the simple reason that he is not allowed to. It's not a video game where you can switch out weapons to your liking.

Lastly the AK isn’t that great. It’s like a T-34, it’s cheap and reliable and there are a ton of them out there, but wouldn’t you want to be in a Tiger if you had the option?

Like I said, a fun game, but really not worth the money when compaired to CMBB.

Thanks for posting this review. I haven't bought it because I thought it was over priced. I could see paying like $20 or so for it but $40 seemed a little to much for what the game has to offer.

I think I'll just wait for CMC and CMSF.

  6. I will step in and **** you real hard
you will be up to your neck in ****.
Hey Santos, defender of Nerds from the wiki site, how about you quit being a bully on this site. You know your threats are unnecessary and empty. How are you going to **** him real hard? By deleting a post of his on wiki? Get a life loser and quit being an internet tough guy, no one wants to read that crap on this site.
  7. If I understand you correctly, Tung rounds don't do as well vs curved or rounded targets. The flatter nose regular AP rounds are better because they tend to grip onto a target that is curved. Where as the Tung which has a very sharp point is more likely to slide off an equally curved surface.

On the other side of the coin Tung with its sharper point is better at penetrating flatter surfaces than is the flat nose AP round.

So maybe you should run a test between T-34/85 with Tung vs Tiger I’s which have a flatter surface.

  8. через четыре часа 17 танковая дивизия фактически перестала существовать как боеспособная часть, потеряв уничтоженными 240 машин из примерно 300
I think it's funny because this statement here says that the 17th division ceased to be an effective fighting unit solely due to air attacks.

If that was so, then why did the Soviets use their ground forces at all? They should have just used airpower until there were no more Germans. Tell the guy your discussing this with to use his head, common sense will tell you that this is wrong.

  9. You know, the first time I played CMBB I didn't really understand how the game worked. So I tried it and got pissed so I put it on the shelf.

I was reading something on the old Panzer Elite boards and one of the fellows said something about CMBB being a great game. My first reaction was “man where do I find this game”. Then I realized I put it on the shelf about six months previously. So I pulled it out and gave it another shot and read the manual, ever since I have loved it. I really think it is the greatest war game ever made.

Once I started playing against humans I realized that this game is very addicting.

Great game, you just need to be patient.
