  1. Well said Aragorn. I hope war doesn’t break out. A lot of wasteful death.

One thing I saw or read a few days ago which made me curious, was a report stating that the Russians have deployed T72 & T80 but no T90 to the border area. Does anyone know why this would be? The article also stated that most of the Russian tanks weren’t equipped with Thermo sights, can that be true? I was under the impression that all modern variations of the t72 & t80 had thermos.

  2. Am I the only one that doesn’t see much difference in opinion between the two opposing sides in the OP post? That NATO tanks are better at spotting and NATO tanks have better FCS’s??? Both sides admitted this. I believe IRL and in game terms the M60 is a superior tank to anything the Soviets have T62 and before. Once T64 is introduced I believe the Soviets have better tanks until the Abrams, Leopard and Chieftain come out.

I think this plays out in game as well. Currently I’m in a PBEM where my opponent is utilizing the M60 and I the T64. Even though he has a numerical advantage I am absolutely winning the tank battle. I’d say spotting is about 50-50, sometimes I spot first sometimes he does. In fact first kill went to my tanks which spotting an M60 in a wood line and KO’ed it with the first shot at about 800+ meters. The only issue I have seen with either game is the Bradley in CMBS seems a little too resilient to 30mm rounds.

Have nearly 17,000 posts to my credit, too.

Haha, ole Johnny boy, this is why I called you spambot 5000. Honestly it was meant as a joke, not meant to be insulting. I too have been around these parts many moons and know you have too. Honestly I think of you as an old comfy blanket. I can always count on seeing one of your posts. I almost feel I know you. But in this case I felt you were trolling.

Back to the topic I’ve often wondered what was more accurate, the Rus/ Ukn Gran rounds or the US GPS guided rounds? I would think laser guided would be slightly more accurate but may be affected by adverse weather conditions which may be the case in the OP situation.

Talking to him like that over and over does you discredit.  If you find his posts of no worth, move on.

To defend the Sarg, spam bot 5000/ John K was asking for it. From what I remember, he doesn’t own this game so why is he commenting on something like this other than to create spam and troll.

  5. I believe they were using AK-74s by then anyway, not much difference to M16. You would not need to use single shot while on the jog, burst fire would be better. Suppression and maybe getting a lucky hit. And I believe OP is referring to when the Soviets are attacking a position. Finally burst fire is what I always witness being use (for both sides) unless the distance to target is far.

  6. Another thing I noticed…. The Bulat can not frontally penetrate the T-90 with either ATGM or APFSDSDASSAS or whatever the acronym is while the Oplot can. I know it’s a fictional game but if both tanks use the same gun why not the same ammo??? The Bulat just became a lot less cool. 😔

Helicopters can be called from anywhere, with fighter bombers you need to have an LOS but not necessarily an LOF.

That seems to be it my good sir. I was attempting to call in my bombers but they needed Los in CMBS. CMCW I called in helos with no Los

  8. I have noticed that my Ukrainian air controller can not call in an area air strike unless he has direct eyes on the area in question. Where as in CMCW my Soviet air controller can be comfortably hiding in thick woods and call in area air strikes all day long without having eyes on the area in question. Does anyone know the reason this could be?

  9. Do the Syrians not have radios? Even the FO’s? I’m attempting to call for fire on a TRP in a test scenario I’m doing but the Syrian SF FO doesn’t seem to have a radio and has an 18 minute delay even though firing on a TRP. After looking at my troops none seem to have radios.

One place you can see 'ABHE' (by another name) effectively in use is CMSF2, the Dutch CV9025 firing 'KETF' rounds.

KETF rounds are slightly different. But the Brits MK19 in CMSF2 fire ABHE rounds I believe.

On a different note, the 25mm US gun in Black Sea has a thermo round as well that is pretty nifty. The regular ABHE it shoots (in my experience) doesn’t seem very destructive.

  11. Hmmm strange, still get error messages. I inputted my username, then password, then email and hit ok. Error. Is no one else having a problem with this? Maybe it’s just me. I even googled instructions on how to setup PBEM+++ but there isn’t any info. Most likely cause no one has issues logging in lol.
