  1. I like it. I have an nvidia card so I hope the next patch helps performance but it's playable. The only thing I really miss is being able to see all your waypoints at once. If that gets patched back in I will give it a 6. edit:Whoops your scale is ackwards, I meant 1.
  2. It's an abstraction and IMO a more fun one than a square with an X in a box on it. I enjoy some 'chit' based wargames as well but the CM series is my favorite.
  3. G - 12 S - 4 U - 10 P - 12 O - 10 48/100 Just not impressed, the game feels very unpolished and unfinished. Compared to the combat mission games it lacks in so many areas save for graphics. The "RPG" elements are a nice touch but useless in a practical sense. They work in smaller games like Soldiers:HoWWII or Faces of War but the size of the battles is too large to worry about the veterancy of a particular rifleman. The AI is reminiscent of RTSs from the early 90s, everything has to be completely babysat or else it will do something stupid and dangerous and end up dead. If it was something other than software I'd return it. How long until shock force?
  4. But JudoHedgehog how you don't get it? This is marketing ploy to create hype. You just fallen on it. </font>
  5. I understand it's a big launch but business is business. If you promise something and then don't deliver then you have to expect upset customers.
  6. Too harsch. Things happen in crunch time so that some nasty bug was desccovered late so I will not be too heavy to BF.com Drink half a bottle of whiskey - you'll stop thinking about this game ha. LOLZ Mario </font>
  7. It's only so you'll understand your statement. From before it's apparent nothing anyone can say will sway you of your "what's yours is mine" attittude so the only way you could possibly be shown how damaging and selfish that attitude is is to be on the recieving end of it. If someone just took your car because their "ends" justified it to them would that be perfectly OK? No matter what attempts you make to jusitfy theft it is still theft, pure and simple. Don't try to come off like you're some high and mighty consumer advocate when all you are is a thief. At least be man enough to admit what it is and don't reel off some tired BS about why it's right to steal someone else's property.
  8. The end justifies the means for me. And that about says it all, I hope someone's end justifies swiping something of yours someday then maybe you'll understand just how childish that statement is.
  9. Where exactly is that right laid out?
  10. Wow, the myriad justifications for being a lowly thief in this thread are hilarious. You armchair revoloutionaries need to get a grip on something other than someone else's property.
  11. I didn't say it was that way in the article, I said if it was that way I'd "take my serving of crow" basically meaning I'd admit I was wrong for calling the control's counter-intuitive. I figured it was probably the game that was wrong but without knowing for sure I couldn't say it was 100% wrong. Put even more simply, that line was classic CYA.
  12. *puts on shameless self promotion hat diesimfanboi.com's review of BoF is posted here: http://www.diesimfanboi.com/software/judohedgehog/t72.htm
  13. I don't know about a difference in realism settings but it makes the AI TC search for targets.
  14. I don't think you can save missions in progress. Look for mised.bat or missed.bat in the T-72 folder, that is the mission editor.
  15. 1. In the TC position that just orders the gunner to point the gun barrel where you are looking. In gunner mode it will make the AI TC turn the gun to the target he sees. 2. I think those sights are just modeled as fixed zoom. In all actuallity the Gunner's sight should be fixed at 8x but for the purposes of gameplay we get the zoom. Doesn't bother me as it compensates for the loss of clarity and resolution that you get using a monitor instead of your eyes. The manual gunnery sights are fixed zoom, it's pretty close in so those are probably correct. 3. Pull up onto the grass it creates a little less dust.
  16. politics:Games::oil:water I don't even consider that kind of stuff when I'm gaming, it just doesn't matter. If you can't seperate yourself from your politics for the purposes of entertainment you're missing out on a lot.
  17. If LOMAC had BoF terrain you could cluster every computer ever made and get about 2 FPS.
  18. Here's a few of mine. 1. Agree on the Mission Generator 2. Ability to set waypoints from TC position 3. 90 degree turn order 4. Some ability to control attached AI without having to go to the map. i.e. formations, open/hold fire, take defensive positions, stop, follow me. 5. Ability to set multiple waypoints for attached AI in map and give them fire/formations orders for each one.
  19. I don't know 100% if that made it to the english version but it would explain the lack of systems in some of the missions.
  20. Hmm it seems everyone with this problem, in this thread anyway, is using an intel processor. I have an AMD and the game hasn't frozen in a week of playing it. I've done all the SP missions a bunch of times and am 7 missions into the campaign. Specs: AMD 3200 64bit Socket 939 Asus A8V Deluxe 1.5 GB PC DDR 333 RAM BFG 6800 GT/OC Audigy Gamer
  21. rarlabs.com download the trial and use it forever, you'll just get a popup after 30 days.
  22. If you are quick you can knock all the enemy fleeing from the village before the T-72s arrive on the scene. That's how I finally beat that mission
  23. Martin, Regarding the "rules of armored combat", since there is nothing in the manual describing the art of armored combat I'd suggest a sticky post where armor tactics can be posted or linked to all in one place. A lot of people aren't going to know hull-down from their elbow so it would be nice to have a place where people can learn about armored combat.
  24. In the SimHQ review of the russian version it's said that you get tanks that are broken in some of the earlier campaign missions. This is related to the "Use Career" realism option. The problem is when it is on no one tells you what is broken on the tank. Like in your first campaign mission with the T-72 only the manual gunnery sights are available, you can't even get to the normal sight. And in the first 2 T-55 missions your range finder does not work. This should either be explained in the mission briefing or the diary as it's very confusing without having read the old simhq review. http://www.simhq.com/_land/armor_006a.html
