  1. Red Army is the best I've read by far. I'm actually an aspiring writer, and I can tell you now that Red Army is simply beautifully written - its a classic example of an author that knows their material well and can write with enough skill to do it justice. Fantastic piece of work The opposite is First Clash - dreadfully written 'docu-fiction' made for the Canadian Army. Its essentially an army manual written in ficitonal form to make it easier to read. Very good examples given of real warfare, complete with a kind of summary at the end for points of interest raised by the story for officers. Worth reading if you need to know your tactics, but very poor as a story.
  2. I guess what I was trying to say was why not just concentrate on modelling one tank well? I can't help but feel cheated when every tank in the game drives the same way. It makes me think that the developers never drove ANY of these tanks, and don't really care about the modelling of the simulation. I would rather they concentrate on one tank (the T72 say) and model it to perfection than fob us off with several tanks that all drive the same way and don't resemble the real thing at all.
  3. I can't seem to notice any difference between the tanks when driving. The T72 and T35 both seem to have the same engine, with the same output and same maximum speed. Considering the difference in sophistication of the two tanks, I would have expected two totally different driving models. This is like making a flight sim and using the same flight envelope for a Spitfire and an F15. Sort it out!
  4. The sound for this game is very strange on my machine. It starts with only the music playing, but if I switch to the map screen and back again the engine sounds and other sound effects suddenly appear. Does anyone have this problem too? I use a Creative Labs Audigy 2 card.
  5. Does anyone have any idea why my waypoints have suddenly disappeared? I saw them the first time I played the game, but since then they have simply disappeared from the display. I've tried pressing P and [ and ] but nothing happens. If I go over a waypoint (even though I can't see it) the game gives me a new set of tasks. Is this a bug or is it me?
