  1. The 1% change for 75 mpps seemed a little ridiculous to me. You say at the moment, is there a chance of it being changed in a later patch?
  2. Is this worth properly researching? I was thinking against an Allied opponent to invest 4 chits into it after the fall of France. Is this a stupid idea?
  3. So basically if you hadn't diverted the AF's west then you still could have forced Russia's surrender? Seems to me like Terif won by a very small margin.
  4. I always do, but recently i've wondered if it's actually worth it. Pros and cons of invading Norway: Pros - The same pros you get with invading any minor i.e. plunder, increased resources, blooding your forces further and having more strategic possibilities. Apart from these, the obvious benefit of taking Norway is gaining the extra 3 ports which make it far easier to harrass the British convoys to USSR. Cons - It takes an expensive amphibious operation to take it, which jeopardizes the German navy. If a human opponent shows initiative then there will be a couple of corps waiting to occupy Bergen and Trondheim as soon as Norway surrenders, creating a costly distraction for Germany and extra resources for Britain. If all of Norway is siezed, Partisans will always affect it's overall output anyway. Occupying Norway requires three corps, which could otherwise be used to occupy all of France or used in partisan operations in Russia. Crucially however, Germany already recieves convoys from Norway for free. And on top of everything there is the obvious increase in war readiness for USA and USSR. What do you think, do the pros outweigh the cons?
  5. I'm only new to SC2 so there's a few things that have baffled me about it. In SC1 if I'm not mistaken, the axis should occupy the border cities and also have one unit on the border. When baltic states are annexed, you put another unit on the border and russian readiness will not increase until 22 june 1941 (doesn't matter how many units you put on romanian border) Dunno if that's the precise way to do it, but it worked in the old game. However around spring time Russian readiness leapt to nearly 70% after I invaded Yugoslavia, but it ad been steadily increasing anyway. How do you keep Russian readiness down? I was putting lots of units around warsaw but not actually along the border, does that matter? What about units on the romanian border,do they matter now? Help!
  6. Hey, I only got the game on monday and after being bored off of my tits initially because I understood so little about it, it's gradually become a really facinating game, one which is infinitely more realistic than the first game. What also struck me is how much more difficult it is. Perhaps it's just because the Axis seems no longer to have as big an advantage as it used to, but in my first game it took me fully until mid 1946 to actually defeat the USSR. In the old game, I could defeat the USSR by mid 1943, and easily repel any attacks in the west. This time, the battle was so drawn out that I was convinced at one stage I would actually lose, something which I thought was almost impossible against the AI. Weather obviously played a big part in slowing the victory down, but also the vastness of the map and I think also the AI has definitely improved. I decided to take Archangel and generally clear my northern flank before attacking Stalingrad and then the Caucasus and eventually the urals. Was this the wrong option? Should I have just driven straight for Stalingrad and then wheeled up north to the urals, bypassing both Archangel in the north west and the caucasus in the south east?
  7. I sincerely hope you're joking. </font>
  8. I sincerely hope you're joking.
  9. Dude, the originals are just 2 pictures of all the sprites, not actually the individual unit and terrain sprites. i.e. in the originals folder there are only two sprites.
  10. Ok ok, serously. All apologies, I hope I haven't annoyed people too much, just try to lighten up eh? Do you know how to swap these sprites Rambo? It would be very much appreciated if you could tell me how.
  11. Sorry, I just didn't realise that a military game forum would actually be like being in the army.
  12. Sorry, I've been a bold boy, I criticised someone. God forbid.
  13. *using kindness and no caps.* Pretty please tell me rambo? P.S. Are you all greased up and in the jungle?
  14. Gee, thanks for that. I'll go ask the Mormons next time I'm stuck with something.
  15. Is there anyway to swap the sprites from the extras 'original' folder with the default sprites in the game? In the extras folder that comes with the game the terrain and unit sprites are so much prettier than the default ones. Can anyone help?
  16. Did anyone ever clarify if individual armies and tank groups would have their own commanders? Like say, a German tank group commanded by Guderian costs slightly more than a tank group commanded by Hoepner and is thus more effective? Did Hubert ever say he would do something like this? I think it would be a class addition to the game without overcomplicating it.
  17. Instead of go get penetrated in the Blue oyster bar you oughta play and get your ass kicked here. </font>
