Yes it will work, as Kanonier mentioned. If you can, set your monitor or graphic card to display a 4:3 ratio otherwise the graphics will be distorted to fit the wide screen.

Read about this person in one of the three 'Panzer Ace's' books.
Thanks.

Erwin, please expand your response.
I think he speaks of the split squad options and the order you choose to split them. Sorry, if I am not really clear either, however this was discussed previously in another thread. Try a forum search of 'split squad options' or something like that.

Listen to the 88s (probably actually 88s) around minute 36-37. Lost of dust picked up, too. These things are... powerful.
In that open terrain I would probably not like to cruise around in an Allied tank while this is going on.
Love the sound of blazing 88's...

Same thoughts here. I find it much easier to play a CM1 game, being simpler it's much less work (I'll admit I do need to get more familiar with CM2 though). Larger engagements. Massive scope. ROCQ's campaign system. Adds up to still be enjoyable. I've got CMBO, CMBB, CMAK and a CMAK modded to the ETO installed and they've been on every PC I've had for the last, what is it, 12 years I think.
Makes it easier to wait for the new CM2 titles too. God I wish they'd do even a cursory strategic layer though. The random map generator is also something I really miss from CM1.
But as you say they're different enough beasts that I think they'll exist side by side on my PC for a long while, so it's all good.

Great post and I agree.

Bloody awful they are...
I prefer the way CMx1 has them.

I personally copied all such diagrams and info from POS and other locations to WeBoB site. Check there.
I knew they were somewhere.

Gerry, might you want a collection of PoorOldSpikes test pdf files. They answer lots of questions related to the game system. They are very descriptive with charts and images. The zip file is 33 mb, so if you have a dropbox I could get it to you that way if you would like. PM me if interested.

I am just watching it and unfortunately i have to agree with you. The first 3 seconds (winter battle) really did look very promising, though. I am gonna watch it till the end anyways.
Cant we make this a thread about good movies about the war from the german perspective? There are really few of them(or at least few of wich i know).
I know three:
Stalingrad
Der Untergang (Downfall)
Die Brücke
Does 'Cross of Iron' count?
Or is this thread more for movies made in Germany, by German's?

Eastern Front and then hopefully North Africa at some point. Might check out CMSF 2.

Kursk comes to my mind...
I was going to mention this as well.
-
Tunisia would be the logical end of the North African campaign, not a prequel to Italy. Not sure when we'll get around to doing NA, but we are interested in it...
^^^ This made my day.
When that day comes, I will probably become a hermit for good.
Well, except when it warms up, then I will have to share my free time with my 2011 Camaro.

I love this freaking company. All my wargame dreams of my younger years are coming true....
Really? My wargame dreams of my younger years have been coming true since the CMx1 series and on.

May I ask why Jacquinot has been banned... I missed that.
EDIT: Wow, never mind I found the thread. Just WOW!

I cant remember if i have played Amreville or, but i did play Wittmans Demise and i think long loading times are normal for scenario of that size. It almost felt like 5 minutes on my machine but i guess that is because most people would get that nostalgic feeling if they took a look at my hardware .
Wittmans Demise is worth every minute of loading time, though.
Wittmann's Demise loads in about one minute fifteen seconds for me.

Our schedule is a bit flexible, but as of now for 2013:
Normandy 2.01 patch
Normandy 1.12 patch
Italy 1.02 patch
Something Nice
CMBN Market Garden
CMEF 1 (1944-1945, starting with Bagration)
CMSF 2 (introduces v3.0)
For 2014:
CM Bulge
CMEF 2 (1943-1944, starting with Kursk)
Various Packs sprinkled in here and there along the way. But it's too difficult to say what and when specifically.
We have no plans on doing a North Africa game at the moment, but I wouldn't rule it happening.

Kursk!!... Sweet!
Big sigh about North Africa. Guess I will have to keep CMAK spinning and watch for more CMFI NA mods for my fix.
-
On CMBN, there are too many plans like MG, Bulge and e.t.c
There is silence about projects on this game
How will be the direction of this game? (CMFI)
African Corps or Road to the Rome?
Regards
Yes please!!...

70. Started with the board version of Stratego, then Stalingrad and Panzer Blitz. Still playing enough that my wife comments on it, but luckily my hearing is going.
Ahh... Panzer Blitz. I assume you have tried out the CMBB versions of the Panzer Blitz scenario's? Fun stuff.

Outstanding!!
Since I mostly only use the Axis stuff, I love hearing that more scenarios and campaigns from the German perspective are on the way.
-
Good stuff to both of you... big scenario's are awesome.

Too old to rock n roll....
NEVER!!

lol man i loved steel panthers but waiting for all the units to fire an return fire in that game arent what i would call a time saver.
True that . The speed was adjustable if I remember correctly so that helped... a bit.

Something is or was brewing in this thread about a Villers Bocage large scenario:
