  1. Russian leadership was not pleased at the deep retreat of its Armies, It ordered them to move forward to let the enemy know where are here and watching . And now the typical trench standoff begins in Russia.

The UK High Command is not please at Russia for not going into battle, if Germany is too have the capabilities of using all its resources on one front, it will make the situation dire for the East.

UK troops that landed in enemy territory managed to keep enemy troops away from the front and send information of what they faced. This delay has provided the Brits with time to send in trained Army men to the front.

France once again was forced to send fresh troops called up from the streets to protect the north of Paris.

A British Battleship badly maneuvered (yay AI) and was heavily damaged by the last German Battleship in port at Brussels, the ship will surely be sunked.

This would kill the "Chitusingluckfaktor" (nice word isnt´t it? :D ) in MP games.

I'm probably the most TECH hater in this game, simply because it is a luck based event. I hate luck in Strategy games, kinda defeats the name "Strategy".

Pay 600mpp get a level, that's how I would do it. A sure thing, but a costly investment.

Ireland goes up cause it has a virtual land connection to England and the UK capital. Its the same as for Africa via Gibraltar or Sweden/Norway via Denmark. Therefore supply goes up to 8.

Thanks Terif, damn you know this game inside out.

What should have been done is to make Canada give a max of 5 for each cities (showing 100%), ports and mines if the goal was to have them produce at only 20mpp total.

And Canada not being connected to the states, well that is just too damn funny to even think about. Hubert where you coding on a Saturday night after a few beers when you made the North American continent? :D

  4. Is not anyone interested in different campaigns?

The 1965 WW3 scenario caused by the Cuban missle crisis is excellent even vs. the "predictable" AI. I can only imagine vs. a Human.

There is also the 1985 Red Inferno WW3 mod that looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

Currently I'm playing the WW1 scenario with Kurt and it is the most fun I've had at SC so far.

  5. The winds of war are calm.

The Russians are very secretive about their ongoings.

The French have managed to hold the German push, due in most part to more British units arriving.

    imag1336.jpg

British Lancashires showing off their new steel helmets

Some highly trained German forces have been damaged, this should force them to bring in new less experienced troops.

  6. Can anyone tell me when France, UK and USSR started their military build-up for WW2?

I know Germany was in March 1933 (Hitler gains absolute control of German in Febuary, the economy is now turned toward military build-up)and USA was December 1941 (Pearl Harbour bombing, DEC 7th)

I'm asking this because I might have found a way to be even more accurate on starting MPPs than my current form.

  7. Full Russian fortification is now complete, the Tsar is having more men trained for the military.

The German cruisers shore bombarding in the Black Sea are turning into a nuissance.

A very well trained German Army unit pushed through and now the CP have 50% of Paris surrounded. The British are not please at the French inefficiency at holding ground. Although the Army unit who has taken position was reduced to 40% capacity.

Boldly the Brits have once again landed troops near Brussels, this makes for 2 units behind enemy lines and now 2 units are even deeper within enemy territory, one managed to damage the Tank unit who had retreated from the French front, the unit is now down to 40% efficiency, our men took heavy casualties in the battle. The other battalion captured the German port near the Denmark border

Experienced British Army are now ready to engage the enemy and a British General is now in France leading his troops.

NOTE: Pics to come later, lack of time.

Maybe if one implement additional MPP income from indian colonies of roughly 30-50 MPP for GB this would be justified.

Not really, if the Axis is investing in subs heavily for raiding, this means it is not using those resources elswhere, which could mean, slowing progressin of invading minor countries or difficulties in Russia.
  10. The waters belong to the Triple Entente! In a glorious and costly battle for both sides it has come to be that all that remains of the CP fleet is but one battleship who is docked in Belgium port.

After sinking the last ship at sea the Triple Entente fleet has gone off in patrol areas near enemy ports, ready to strike should it try to send more ships. A few ships have left for refiting.

On the eastern front the Russians have retreated closer to their cities after pushing back the enemy all the way to Warsaw.

Other cities are being heavily fortified and plans to make the invaders pay for their incursions in the motherland are underway.

    image11.jpg

Russian Armies marching towards border cities

On the French battlefields the fighting keeps on being difficult, although there is a feeling of some ground being made with British reinforcements arriving from Manchester with some leadership.

Once again a Corps unit has landed behind enemy lines near Brussels. And even greater penetration in enemy territory has been succesffuly made. This time 2 Corps units are in German land, their mission, to cause havoc and if possible sabotage or take enemy cities while they make their way to French territory hoping to cut off the enemy.

    11wb1o.jpg

    Troops landing behind enemy lines.

The United States of America will most likely join the side of the Triple Entente, the governing party is having a successfull propaganda campaign on the American people, although not to the level they would hope. This will mean only a small military contigent will most likely be sent.

    snpwwi4c.gif

US propaganda trying to get anything from its citizen, if not bodies, money will do.

Although one of their Generals has come up with a bold plan on how to use these troops and will lead them on this mission himself.

  11. Go your attention? Good read on.

The goal of SC is primarly to relive WW2 and alter its history.

I've made a campaign where I maximized to the limit how you can alter the history of WW2 within the limits of SC and its Editor.

Basically each country starts with no units (some exceptions, explained later) and you receive the equivalent in MPP. As well all TECH and research points given is removed and given as MPP.

Italy, USSR and USA can not have their units removed from the start so what I have done is make a house rule that once they join all their units MUST be disbanded. I've accounted for all the MPP you loose by doing so and already given it accordingly, for example: once you disband a US Battleship you only receive 60 out of the 660 MPP they cost, so I've already added 600 MPP, add in the 60 you get from the disband you then get the full value. This was done for ALL units that will get disbanded. A LOT of number crunching.

Obviously this is a Player vs. Player campaign only since it has House rules that need strict adherence.

    This is how it goes:

Fog of War: Both players choice

    Free French: ON

    Yugoslav Partisan: ON

    Soviet Partisans: ON

Scorched Earth: Both players choice (Suggest ON)

Siberan Transfer: OFF (Already accounted for in starting Soviet MPP)

    All War joining is RANDOM.

Germany gets $$$ 1 Army and 1 Corps units that are already there by default, simply because those units are strategically positioned for the invasion of Poland and can not be placed at those locations if they were bought. I've deducted the MPP for those units accordingly (375).

Poland is not allowed to cross its border until the Allied 2nd turn.

Germany is not allowed to cross the French border or attack the maginot line until the Axis 3rd turn, this is simply to give the French a chance to man the maginot line.

Once Germany declares War on Russia, it must NOT attack immediatly, it most wait until Russian has had 1 turn to disband and place its purchased units. This seems to break the element of surprise but since Russian will not be able to purchase units near its border, only around its cities this will give Germany free reign to drive near the cities unopposed on the 2nd turn of declaration of war to Russia, still simulating a blitzkrieg.

Germany is ALLOWED to have troops land via transports on their 2nd turn on Russian territory.

France can not declare war on Italy and move in, it has to give the Axis player his turn to disband all his units and do his purchases, basically France is only allowed to attack Italy on the 2nd turn should it declare War.

France has 2 Corps that do NOT get disbanded, one in Algier and one in Sirya, for the obvious reason that Germany could simply send transports and take the cities with no resistance before France could send troops. Once again MPP deduction was done accordingly (250 MPP).

UK has no restrictions and they have a Corp guarding Gibraltar, Egypt and Malta.

Italy has 1 Corps on the City next to Greece and 1 army in each African city that do NOT get disbanded (for the same reason France has troops in Algier and Sirya). MPP deduction was accounted for (625).

USSR will disband all units except for 2 border Armies (simply because they are too far away to be dibanded on the 1st turn) as well the Corp guarding the port in the dead sea will not be disbanded as well. There will be no Siberian transfer; MPP was given accordingly.

USA will disbad all units and purchase / research as the player wishes.

    ***

What does this do? It simply allows US the players to determine what units you wish to have from the start. WE the players get to mold WW2 in our way from the start.

Now I need someone to playtest this with me or if you wish to playtest it with someone else, ask me for the file, I'll send it to you.

    Campaign name: WW2 Build up.

  12. Was one of those PAC-MAN ghosts named Blashy?

I invented that name arond 1988 when I played Dungeons and Dragons, I needed a name for a Hafling Thief and I've always invented names for my characters, for some reason I liked this one and started using it on Arcade games and when the internet came along it just carried.

I recently found out the name or I should say word Blashy actually exists!

    The meaning:

Blashy, adj. C. (1) Wet, as regards weather, roads, &c. (2) Weak, watery, as applied to drinks.

Ex.- It 's a blashy tahm been.Ah thinks this tea 's nobbut b/ashy

So I'm not original after all :(

    I didn't think of 2 HQs myself

I read the the manual by Bill that 2 HQs can NOT supply each other if there is not city close.

My HQ was stuck when I unloaded on the Algerian coast from that Atlantic, I could not cross the mountains and I was not about to declare war on spain just to take that one city.

So you are saying had I brough another HQ and placed it properly I could have crossed the mountains?

Would this be an errata in the manual Bill?

  14. JJ, I don't consider Curry`s league to be "competitive" so far I've played 2 matches as a newbie and I'm currently playing the WW1 scenario with Kurt.

I have not felt any of those matches to be of a competitive nature, both players have even helped me when I told them which mistakes I had made.

Panzer, I wrote you for a match, just reply through email, that is how it works. blashy@hotmail.com

  15. The Russian have made sure the enemy was pushed back all the way to its front lines. In counter attacks the Russians managed to severly damage 1 Army group to STR 2.

On the West, the Germans pushed hard and managed to have 2 battalions surround France. In a swift counter attack one of them was destroyed although no Allied troops was able to move in the area.

German pillbox knocked out of action

In the high seas the German Navy is virtually anihilated. While retreating 2 ships STR 8-9 where surprised by 2 russian cruisers. one was destroyed and the other reduced to 1 as it was surrounded by UK and French vessels, it has nowhere to go.

A fully refited German vessel is still in port at Brussels.

British tropps have landed deep into enemy territory, their mission... SABOTAGE or Take any available cities.
