  4. Hi Have relatively recently got CMBB and have up until now mostly played as the Germans. I have in the last few weeks got more into playing as the Russians but I always seem to come up against two problems that I could use some advice from you BB veterans out there on. The first is with the Russian tanks, I know they generally won confrontations due to superiority of numbers, but I problem I have is whenever I come up against anything better than a Mark IV my T-34s just immediately start reversing or if I manage to persuade them to fight they nearly always loose. Even with KVs and IS-1s I struggle in confrontations with the heavier German tanks. Another problem I am having is again against armour. As a CMBO player and having payed as the Germans on CMBB I always liked to try and have a few panzershreks (spelling?), PIATS or bazookas just to back up my infantry against any enemy armour. However, as the Russians I find myself without any real equivilant. I've tried using AT rifles and AT teams but they just don't hit the mark. So what I was wondering was if anyone had any tips on taking out tanks with infantry fom the Soviet point of view. Thanks very much Tom
  5. Hey got two but still willing to take part in another PBEM. However, not the quickest rate of e-mails at the moment. E-mail: tom.marshallevans@ntlworld.com
  6. Hi all Have played the demo of CMBB and am reasonably impressed but undecided on whether to buy. What extra features are there in this game that aren't in the demo or CMBO that make you love it. Ta Tom
  7. had a quick look and found it. The post is called 'Heer Infantry...Which to Choose' or something near that. I would put a link but not sure how to do it and don't have the time to work it out at the moment. T
  8. Quite a while ago there was a really good post by Jason C about what to use the different German units for. I can't remember what the post was called but if you have a search I espect you will find it. Tom
  9. Thanks sorry guys, thought I had read it was available retail in all of North America. Sorry wasting time.
  10. Hey I'm from England but am in Vancouver in Canada at the moment. I am want to buy CMBB for the mac as I guess it will be cheaper over here does anybody know of a store that sells it in the Downtown Vancouver area? Thanks for the help T
  11. Hey What are the name of companies according to their letter. For example A = Able? B=Baker? C D E F G H I Also was it the same for the all the allies, eg would a British or Canadian B company be called Baker like an American? Thanks Tom
  12. There certainly seem to be plenty of hedgerows and sunken lanes around near me (Devon) not quite on the scale of Normandy I don’t think but they are still pretty damn large. As far as I can see they are pretty much impenetrable with trees bushes and other plants all intertwined. From my own experience this is the case in many parts of Britain, but again I say I don't think they are quite on the scale of those described and those I have seen in Normandy.
  13. This really is a great forum, whenever I ask a question I always get a great answer, often from JasonC, fantastic. Cheers pal Tom
  14. Does anybody know how many assault guns were usually assigned to Volksgrenadier battalions. Thinking about I expect it was a certain number to a division rather than individual battalions, but any help would be great. Thanks Tom
  15. Hi Was trying out some of the different units I don't use very often the other day and came across the 88mm RW43 Puppchen. What is best used for and what is it? It seems to be some kind of rocket firing weapon. Ta Tom
  16. Hi With the Allies AFAIK I have never been able to take out a tank with just infantry. Are you sure there wasn't a rifle genade or a demo pack chucked in, because I've had that happen and hardly noticed it, because they were so close to the tank. I'm almost certain though I've had a German rifle squad destroy an Allied tank at close range with only 'nades. Tom
  17. Sorry Dillweed didn't intended that reply to sound as bitchy as it did, sorry bud. Probably came out as it did because I was at the time in the middle of a game in which I'd just lost two of my three Cromwells to another beast of the battlefield, the Hetzer. But yeh whatever it was limerick or something else, the Tiger is undoubtedly a fantastic tank, especially as said, in groups, if a little slow. Ta Tom
  18. Okay rhyme, but then again I’m not overly concerned.
  19. Hi Have belatedly updated my computer to OSX recently and when I tried to run CMBO it didn't work  Is Combat Mission (BO) not compatible with OSX? When I try to run it all starts up fine and nice and smoothly. But then when loading any scenario I get the ambient sounds and nothin else. The picture seems to freeze on the Loading 3D Graphics screen. Please help as don't want to sacrifice my favourite game for OSX. Tom
  20. Hi Have had CMBO for a while now and have now decided to try out some of the scenario's that other people have made and posted on the Internet. Does anybody have any recommendations as to which I should choose? Thanks for any replies Tom
