Eh.... we do try.
Many of us are newer players but there are a few people who know their stuff pretty well.
Another thing you could do is look up some of the stuff JasonC has written up here at BFC. Many of the stuff he writes about are basic tactics that can work for AK or BB.

"Everyone's a rifleman first" or some crap like that.
That's why I joined the Air Force.
-
All will be available for anyone interested to play. So no matter if you join now or after WC7 starts up you can start up any of them and have fun with it.
What I'll probably do is make a thread linking all the different War College "Semesters" and their matching AARs.

No. I'm 99% sure there's no way to get rid of the barbed wire. Just go around it if you can.

Okay so I understand the abandoning thing but why in the heck would the driver be shaken when he has to abandon his kubelwagon?
Is he afraid the CO is gonna shoot him for getting stuck?

Heh, no of course not. Just never saw it happen before.
-
in one of my PBEMs I have a kubelwagon that got stuck way behind the lines and behind a hill. After a turn and a half it went from bogged to immobilized/bailing out. It really pissed off the Company HQ in the back who now has to walk.
Now I've never seen this happen before. I'm sure that the kubel is far from the lines and also behind a hill so it is out of LOS of everything.
Do kubelwagons abandon when the get immoblized?
I can provide the file for almost everyone if they are curious and want to see for themselves.

Hi all...
Over the next few days I'm going to be putting up some polls to get some ideas for the next WC semester. Please participate if possible.
And thanks...

Not a stupid question. Something I wondered about when I first started playing.Originally posted by Rufus1268:Probably yet another stupid question, but do knocked out vehicles (tanks in particular) count as cover for infantry?
No, they don't provide cover for infantry. Even a lone sharpshooter cannot take cover behind a tank.
-
Thanks for the MZO plug.
Actually WarHawk is doing a great job with is AAR and it is a pretty good read.
-
The sharpshooter should be far more accurate. Also the AT rifles are made for KOing light armor and the sharpshooter is there for taking out men.
I've found sharpshooters to be invaluable. I usually will by them as high experienced as possible. Put a couple of them back a little so they aren't as vulnerable and let them have at it. They keep tanks buttoned and usually get a TC or two. Keep crews pinned down. They spot pretty good.
AT rifles are great against halftracks, armored cars, and very thinly armored tanks like Marders and such. JasonC wrote up a good tread about it not too long ago, I suggest checking it out. While AT rifles can be used against infantry they won't be as effective as a sharpshooter for killing troops at long range.
But then again I could be completely wrong. I'm sure Jason or one of the other guys will set me straight.

Congratz to Justin Cider on winning a copy of CMAK. Since the CM Giveaway was pretty popular I'll run another one soon.

Congratz to Justin Cider for winning a copy of CMAK!
I'll be holding another CM Giveaway at a later(but not too much later) date.

There's about 12 hours left if you want in on the raffle

All...
Also, some people are having problems downloading the scenario. I have it up at the Scenario Depot but the link isn't working right. I e-mailed the scenario to the guys there hoping that they'd be able to host it for me instead. Also for some reason some people can't download it from MZO itself. If that's the case either send me an e-mail, a PM at MZO, or just post over there that you can't download it and I'll gladly e-mail it right to ya.

Richie...
I'm glad you like the idea.
So far there was the Comparitive Game #1 created by Panzer32. It was really just an idea at the time and an experiment to see how well the idea would work.
I kinda really put some effort into the idea after that. Ran some polls to see what people thought. We brainstormed up a name, War College. I set up a scenario, Barbarossa Blitz and then just started posting about it a lot hoping it'd get some attention. So far people seem pleased and that's great.

I think WarHawk was looking for...
Infantry can move X meters in a minute using move over open ground and can move X meters in 20 seconds by advancing through scattered trees.
I haven't seen anything like that around.

I always resize my screenshots to 800x600 because they fit better in the forums at that size and when you do it in MSPaint you lose a lot of the resolution. In Irfanview you just use CTRL+R to bring up the resize screen and after you have resized it use SHIFT+S and that'll sharpen the image some. I suggest giving it a try with both and you should see a bit of a difference. But in the end I guess it all comes down to personal preference. And I'm glad I could help ya learn something.
Herr Kruger, well we'd love to have you join us if possible. I look forward to seeing you over at MZO
