AAR is an After Action Report.
There are some at CombatHQ. These aren't too bad. If you look around in the forums here you should find some links to some others too.
Or you could get lucky and some more knowledgable people could point you in the right direction(hint, hint).

Another thing that helped me out was reading AARs. There are quite a few good ones out there.
Being able to actually read how a person is fighting a battle and why he does what he does is, as I'm finding, very helpful. And when there are a lot of screenshots it's even more helpful.

I just got the game but after a little while of getting used to all that's involved I plan on at least doing PBEM.

Yeah, imagine that. A WWII game where there's no Germans, Americans, and Brits set on the Western Front after D-Day. That'd be a good game.

Okay, I've read some on it in this forum but I just want to know, is it worth the points? Does the experience matter? What's the difference between Green and Crack? Also is it worth getting more than one? Just a newbie with some questions.
Bed time now, just got done playing for 8 hours.

I just got my game yesterday in the mail. Boy is it a lot more fun than the demo.
I too had a little bit of a problem getting used to all the new toys. But I played a bunch of small QBs and tried out some stuff. I'm very far away from trying out everything. There's a lot of stuff.
Of course I'm not winning a lot. I'd say about 2/3 of the time on defense and about 1/4 of the time on offense. Lots to learn.
The Tips and Tricks forum is very useful. I suggest when you have the time go back a ways in the forum reading all you can. Trust me, it helps. Good luck to ya.

Sounds interesting can you send it to me. There's just a whole lot and some I can figure out and some are just way out there. I'm not totally unfamiliar with a lot of the abbreviations as I am in the military but some just seem to come from the game and those are the ones I am not figuring out.
It should help when my game finally arrives in the mail. Hopefully it can get to Germany in a hurry.

I'm new and was having some problems with some of the acronyms. I figured someone asked in the past so I figured I'd dig through, find it, and give it a bump so other newbies can see it.
Also if anyone can add anything CM related it'd be appreciated.

I have to say I'm pretty lucky. Even though I spend a lot of time on my computer each day my wife is cool with it.
First off we work different shifts so I get some play time in either when she's asleep or at work. And even when she's home I usually get to play. She's a gamer too so she understands. She probably spends almost as much time a day on the computer as I do.
Just as long as we spend some us time every now and then it's all good. She's happy which in married life means I'm happy.

I too am a very newbie. Actually so newbie I don't have the game yet. I've only played the demo and before I even finished my first game I had ordered it. Can't wait to get it in the mail.
And I'm sure this forum will be very helpful for improving my game.

in Combat Mission - Tips and Tricks

Does anything happen if each side has close air support? Do they scare each other off or do they do their own thing and blow %#@& up?
Last night I was playing a QB against the computer. I was doing a 1500pt. assult, Axis attacker. Well my King Tiger is kicking some but when it gets targeted by a plane. Two bombs land right next to it. Not even a scratch!!! :relief:
But over the next few turns it immobilizes a Panzer and knocks out a halftrack. But boy was I surprised the KT took those blasts that close to them.
