  1. Just sent it out again security guard to the other address. Stoffel send me a line and i will kick it your way. Eric
  2. I read it and used it as a source for my Normandy Pack ops. It was interesting and seemed to be well researched. The main goal seemed to be to debunk the notion that the Canadian forces had lackluster performance in the Normandy campaign. The book takes you through a brief description of the Canadian OOB and military philosophy and has a section on every major operation the Canadians were involved in throughout the Normandy campaign, form Juno to Falaise. I would recomend it.
  3. Stoffel, Hope all is going well with you. I tried to e-mail you through the forum and it allows me to typoe a message for you but I see no way to attach the file to it. Send me an e-mail and I will reply to yours and send the op along with it. Eric
  4. Have you placed the victory flag where you want the tank to go?
  5. Thanks Ken. The briefings have been changed.
  6. Sergei, I would love to have some feedback on this one when you are done. Do you need a file of "NP 1. The Race for Caen" or did some one else pass it to you (I know I sent you "NP 2. Blut Und Ehre" before). Good luck with the battle Eric
  7. Just got a new video card and seems like it installed fine. However when I go to launch CMAK or CMBB I get a message asking "Video setting correct?". Dont seem to be able to do anything but alt tab out at that point. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  8. Kingfish i recieved your e-mail with comments and have actually addressed the issues you mentioned accordingly. The only issue i could not change is using the wheat tile for the beach. I cannot think of a better tile to represent that terrain although I agree with you that it could possibly block the defenders LOS in some occasions. This LOS effect however is balanced by the fact that the real attackers had a much higher sea wall than a CMAK wall for cover as well as beach obstacles and such to hide behind as well. Thanks for all you initial input. it is greatly appreciated. Eric
  9. Just sent the file your way. I worked a long time on this huge map to get it as close to the real terrain as possible. The first turn is one of the biggest CM firefights I have ever seen. Hope you enjoy it. Good hunting Eric
  10. Just posted a new op at the Depot. NP 1. D-Day, The Race For Caen. In the same spirit as my Blut Und Ehre op, D-Day The Race For Caen is a huge op on a massive 4kx8k map. You will need a beefy computer to play this one (some turns take over a minute to process on mine). Can be played 2 player or plays just as well as Canadians vs. AI The action starts on turn one in this op with the desperate struggle to conquer the Juno beachead. From there you will have to consolidate your forces and race inland in order to capture Caen and the all important airfield at Carpiquet before night falls and German reinforcements have a chance to arrive. The file is too big to host at the depot (they have a 100kb file limit on submissions). If you would like to give it a try you can send me an e-mail and I will send the op your way.
  11. Paulus got along poorly with the local Luftwaffe commander as well, Von Richtofen, and they spent a good bit of time and energy butting heads and pointing fingers at each other rather than working on the task at hand.
  12. Shameless plug. If you are looking for manageable size ops to start try my Gebirgsjaeger series for CMBB. They are all medium or smaller. Suggest GP. 5 Rechnitz or GP 2. Edelwiess to start. If you like them bigger try Der Pionier kessel for a huge Stalingrad fight. All of these ops based on real battles and are historicaly researched with extensive resources Good hunting
  13. Drop me a line as well. My Blut Und Ehre operation for CMAK is nearly 2mb on a historically based 4kx8k map. It is too big to host at the depot but i think it will keep you busy for a while. It is suitable for 2 player or Axis vs. AI play Eric
  14. The smaller Mauser HSC 7.65 model was used by ranking officers but probably not as often as the Walther PPK. Would not think that too many of these guns ended up in the hands of the common soldier. The broomhandle did crop up from time to time, sometimes in its full auto version which had a detachable 20 round box mag and much too high of a rate of fire. The ammo for the 7.62 version is interchangable with the ammo used by the PPSH submachinegun (although the Soviet round is loaded a little hotter).
  15. I would like to check out a copy if you don't mind. By the way are you having problems submitting the op to the Depot becuase the file size is too large? I recently tried to submit a CMAK Normandy Op to the depot but was unable to do so because of its size. Looking forward to trying your Op. I love the italian campaign and this was one of its great missed oppurtunities. Thanx Franco
  16. For Cmak the first 3 ops in the Gebirgsjaeger series are early war. Poland 39, Norway 40, and Greece 41 respectively.
  17. I ran into this same problem when I created #4 in my Gebirgsjaeger series of ops. This one depicts a historical conflict between Germans and their former Finnish allies. The op takes place in october of 44 but as stated above when I saved it the date changes to August. Also the Finns could not be chosen as Allies in the editer so I was forced to use Russian troops.
  18. Yes Sergei. I have sent the Admiral a couple of e-mails a week or so ago inquiring about the size limit but I have not heard back from him. I can understand where it might put him in a sticky position because if he hosts my huge scenario then he would be obliged to host everyones and I could see where huge ops like mine could eat up webspace. Still I was hoping to make this series and had started on an Epsom op and another near St.Lo with intentions for Goodwood and Falaise as well. Perhaps I will pick them up again in the future.
  19. Blut und Ehre is inbound to your e-mail. The Normandy buildings and mods would look great with this map as well. Let me know what you think.
  20. Just sent you a copy. I had planned to use this map twice. I was going to reverse it and make the Canadians the attackers from the North to portray the opposed landings on D-Day and the subsequent atttempt to grab Caen and Carpiquet before nightfall on the 6th(adding in beach obstacles, barbed wire, pillboxes, mines, DD tanks etc). I had started on maps for operation Epsom and the American action near St.Lo as well but now I am undecided as to whether to continue or not. [ December 01, 2004, 10:46 AM: Message edited by: Emar ]
  21. Just sent it your way Sergei. Let me know what you think. I have played it to the end against the AI twice but thought it would be good with 4 or 6 players dividing up each sides units. Thanks for any input. Of course I suppose the map could be divided up to make a series of smaller ops if this one is too big for the Depot. Thanks Sergei
  22. Well Enigma and Soddball. Just discovered another reason why huge scenarios are a pain. After spending over three months working on mine to get it perfect I just tried to kick it over to the depot only to discover that there is a 100kb limit on all submitted files. My hard researched 8k by 4k CMAK map alone is more than that even before adding units. In fact the finished product weighs in at 184 kb. So it looks like I just spent several months creating an op that will never be hosted. And what really sucks is that I began work on four more ops in the series with the intent to create an entire Normandy campaign all on 4k by 8k maps from D-Day through to Falaise. My hope had been to simulate the feel of tabletop gaming with miniatures on a huge map and I think they would have been great for multiplayer with 4 or 6 players(dividing up the armor and infantry units command) O well, live and learn.
