  1. JerseyJohn, are you going to do an AAR on the 1945 mod? As of yet, at least until I get feedback on it, I have no plans to change it. Logan Hartke
  2. Happy to give you the files. Tell me what you think when you install them. I was making them anyway, so I figured, "why not share them?" Logan Hartke
  3. I have cable, too. It is DSL speed. It still took quite a while to upload the files to the e-mails. I may as well continue doing it. Logan Hartke
  4. They are each going to take about 15min to upload, so it may be an hour or so before you get all the files and a while before they are all downloaded on your computer from the e-mails. Logan Hartke
  5. Okay, nevermind. I won't bother with the AIM. As far as the WinZip goes, I did that, and it was still insanely large (like 35mb or something). In fact, that was the only way I tried to send it to you, long before you asked me to. Anyway, I split it up into three different folders, the contents of which you should just empty into your Sound folder. I then WinZipped those files and they are now on their way. Logan Hartke
  6. John, I tried it and I have two options. I have to split it into three different files (can't attach a file bigger than 16mb) or I have to send it through an instant messenger. Do you have an IM or do I need to split it up? Logan Hartke
  7. Night So, do you want the files, or not? John It's on the way. The funny thing is that you and I know exactly what teh other one is saying as far as the sound problem goes, but to everyone else, we're speaking Chinese. I know exactly what you mean about the sound, though. Logan Hartke
  8. What do you know? I made another interface mod. Imagine that. I like playing the game with sound, but unfortunately, the sound is too overpoweringly loud to listen to music (even with Winamp 3 or Windows Media Player at 100% volume) and play the game. Also, to the best of my knowledge, the game has only two volume settings - on and off. So, I took the time to decrease ALL of the sound files by half. I also did this with the sound files for my two mods (1962 and railguns). So, now I can listen to the music on my computer while playing the game. I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem, and, if so, wanted the files. So, any takers? Logan Hartke
  9. By the way, anyone wanting a detailed look at the game layout without having to e-mail me and have me send them the file should click on this link... BE WARNED! THIS PICTURE IS VERY BIG AND WILL TAKE TIME TO LOAD WITH ANYTHING LESS THAN CABLE OR DSL! There, you cannot say that I didn't warn you. http://www.runecave.com/advance/advance/images/63/1945-Mod.JPG Also, I got really bored and made a desktop for myself. I think it turned out pretty well and is pretty neat, so I am letting anyone else who wants to look at it do so. BE WARNED! 10. Actually, that was about how I wanted it. The largest guns seriously planned for mounting in a German tank before the invasion of France were the 75mm L/24 and the 105mm L/28. The 88mm gun was only speculated around the time of the invasion of France and it was only realistically achieved (mounted in a turret) in mid-42. Assuming the lack of experience in France and USSR would set German design teams back at least two years. So, by my best estimations, the long-barreled Mark IVs and VK 3001/3601-series tanks would only be coming on the battlefield when the game begins. The majority of units, by my best estimations, would be equipped with 75mm L/24 tank guns. That's why the Germans only have level-1 tanks. Also, a great deal of German development would have been diverted into naval, rocket, and aircraft technology. Similarly, the German armor industry would be building incredibly large amounts of super-thick battleship armor. That was my reasoning. Also, I did it for gameplay. Play as the Allies before criticising the fairness of the gameplay. Logan Hartke
  11. Both the Allies and the Axis tried to get Turkey to join their side during WWII. They did this by giving Turkey lots of war material among other things. Turkey gladly accepted all of this equipment, but remained neutral (reminds me of post-WWII Yugoslavia under Tito). On a related note, I'd have hated to have been in parts supply for any branch of the Turkish military. For example, the Turkish Navy consisted of a pre-Revolutionary Russian-built 1903 cruiser, a Kaiser-era German-built 1911 battlecruiser, an ex-Ottoman British-built 1903 cruiser, and a combination of British, Nazi-built German, Italian, and Dutch destroyers and submarines. So, replacement parts had to be ordered from 4 different countries (one occupied, two Allied, one Axis) during WWII, and in the case of the pre-WWI ships, no spares existed, so parts would have to be jury-rigged or fabricated. Also, they had to acquire spare parts for these aircraft... Savoia 16Bis/M/59 Rohrbach Ro.111A Rodra Supermarine Southampton II Supermarine Walrus Mk.II Before you, as naval quartermaster, go off and decide to switch services, let's take a look at Turkey's army. Just focusing on tracked and/or armored vehicles, Turkey had WWI French tanks (1 model), WWII French tanks (1 model), pre-war Soviet tanks (4 different models), WWII German tanks (2 different models), pre-war British tanks (1 model), pre-war Soviet armored cars (2 models), and 4 different models of obscure Czech tracked prime movers. http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/Turkey/turkey.html So, you're probably thinking about now, "Sign me up for the air force, then." Well, this was likely the worst of all the services. Here is a list of all the aircraft types (followed by the number of the aircraft that served in the Turkish Air Force)... Caudron C.59 Morane-Saulnier M.S.147 Breguet XIX-B2 Letov S-16T Smolik Breguet XIX-7A-2/7B-2 De Havilland D.H.84 Dragon Curtiss Fledgling 2C.1 Curtiss F11C-2 Hawk II Consolidated Fleet Model 7 Polikarpov R-5 Focke-Wulf FW 58K-10(B-type) Gotha GO 145A Pezetel PZL-24A/F/C/G Monospar S.T.25 Koolhoven F.K.49A Heinkel He 111F-0 Martin 139WT Vultee V-11-GBT Bristol Blenheim Mk.I Bristol Blenheim Mk.IV Bristol Blenheim Mk.V "Bizley" Curtiss-Wright CW-22R/B Hawker Hurricane Mk.I Hawker Hurricane Mk.II C Hawker Hurricane Mk.II B Hawker Hurricane Mk.II C® Fairey Battle Mk.I Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vc Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V Supermarine Spitfire P.R.Mk.XI Morane-Saulnier MS.406C.1 Westland Lysander Mk.II Avro Anson Mk.I Hanriot 182 Miles Magister Mk.I/IA THK 14 Magister Curtiss 87A-2 (P-40D) Kittyhawk Mk.I Curtiss 81A-3 (P-40C) Tomahawk Mk.IIB Consolidated B-24D Liberator Focke Wulf FW 190A-3 Bristol Beaufort Mk.I/II Miles Master Mk.II/III Martin Baltimore Mk.V http://turkhavakuvvetleri.tripod.com/aircrafts.htm Note that all of the above aircraft were provided either during or before the war by the combatants or occupied countries. That means that spare parts would be VERY hard to acquire. So, it's not always easy to be neutral, but it would be neat to, as a Turkish general, be able to fly all those different types of aircraft when neither the Axis, nor the Allies could. 12. Geez, you guys aren't even on the second page yet and there is no semblance of the original topic. The topic has descended into a debate over same-sex marriages. If this is the OFFICIAL thread, I'd hate to see the UNOFFICIAL thread... Logan Hartke

  14. That's easily destroyed by battleships and cruisers. I realized that with my 1945 mod. A figther can be attacked by ships offshore, but will usually inflict heavy damage on its attackers. A bomber on the other hand, will not return fire. Therefore, the offensive capabilities are very limited and its defensive capabilities are nil. A fighter is the better all-around survivor on that hex. Logan Hartke

  18. Does this give you any idea whose side I'm on? Well, if pictures are worth a thousand words, it looks like I have the longest anti-Lucky Zebra post so far. Logan Hartke
  19. So, does anyone else want this scenario? Logan Hartke
  20. Did yours work John, or have you tried it yet? I know I have 1.07, so I don't know what is wrong. Also, I sent him the file directly from my campaigns folder where I have already playtested it. Logan Hartke
  21. Oh, and by "final version," I'm not saying that I definately won't revise it further in the future, but I don't think that I'll be starting from scratch again on the same project. Logan Hartke
  22. Okay, folks, the final version is done. I've not fallen off the face of the Earth, I was just busy with it or away from home, so I didn't have the time to answer all the postings and e-mails that I got from those who were interested. I'd like to thank everyone who has given any input and/or feedback on the project. I will e-mail my revised campaign to everyone that I e-mailed the first one to within the day. Thanks again to everyone! Logan Hartke
  23. Okay guys, I'm starting from scratch. It really won't be ALL that hard to do. It's just the Fall Weiss campaign with a lot more units. I just have a few questions, though. What do you want me to do with Greece? Currently it's neutral, but I was thinking about making it allied and under the control of the Soviets (representing a successful Communist coup) or the Brits (representing their normal government). Also, should I leave Portugal neutral? I think I should, but I am forced to realize that opinions other than mine exist in the world. Should I give Poland more units to represent them making a larger army between 1939 and 1945? Lastly, should I make Poland's territory Soviet so that they can more easily transfer units? 24. I did read the e-mail. Do you want me to reply to the e-mail with an e-mail of my own or just reply on here? Logan Hartke
  25. Now that I've sent it to at least four people, someone needs to find someone else and play a TCP/IP game. I'm going to be gone today, so I can't. Logan Hartke
