  1. Rambos Kamikaze attack: one German airfleet killed. The surviving 6 airfleets at Arcachon and naval forces sink all 3 carriers and 2 additional ships. Next game with changed sides follow.
  2. June 1941: Yugoslavian coup: they surrender after 2 turns. Huge airfights with heavy losses for both sides at Brest: 5+ german airfleets against 3 UK carrier and 2 airfleets. One battleship sunk. Carrier intercepted and two times directly attacked but still swimming .
  3. May 1941: Spain surrenders after the second turn. Gibraltar under attack. Airfights at Brest.
  4. April 13, 1941: UK air and naval forces attack and occupy Brest. Axis attack Spain, conquer one city and destroy 2 spanish armies and a corps. Airfleets-carrier fights over Brest. The last cut off UK forces in Egypt destroyed. The med is clear now. Only Malta remains as training target.
  5. December 1940: Alexandria belongs to Italy now, Suez will fall next turn. UK Bergen corps destroyed.
  6. November 1940: Alexandria encircled and under attack from both sides: will fall next turn. Airbattle over Bergen. UK scientists were successful: Lv2 jets against Lv1 german airfleets.   7. September 1940: Sweden surrenders as expected. UK naval forces fall back behind Gibraltar.
  8. August 1940: Huge air and naval battle between Gibraltar and Algier. 2 UK battleships sunk, carrier damaged. German air arrives in large numbers in Algier and Eqypt. Stockholm under attack and will fall next turn.
  9. August 8, 1940: German forces attack Sweden, starting from Norway. UK battleships attack Algier. Airbattle in Eqypt.
  10. July 14, 1940: Surprise attack on Norway and Vichy. both countries taken in one turn. UK operates air to Alexandria. Italian landings attack airfleet and reduce it to str 6. Suez corps under ground and naval attack. Canadian army at Brest destroyed and Brest taken, after port had been reduced to str 3 and no possibility to retreat.
  11. Preparing some invasions.. Brest attacked by aircrafts.
  12. May 26, 1940: France surrenders. Italian corps along Egypts coasts. Both french coastal cities held by UK forces.
  13. April 28, 1940: German forces reach the outskirts of Paris. The capital will fall next turn under the heavy air and ground attacks.
  14. March 31, 1940: The revenge for the death of a german army: 2 french armies killed a third one reduced to str4. French mine occupied Italy joins, marches into the empty Marseilles and bombards Malta.
  15. Ardennes are cleared from french forces. The french corps next to Paris dies, but no need to move a weak corps into the gap. Italy is at 96 % increasing and will join next turn anyway.
  16. February 2, 1940: Two french corps die, including the one in LC. First airstrikes at the canadian army entrenching in Paris. Ireland is doomed to fall next turn without reinforcements. But Dublin corps attacks and damages the canadians in Ireland.
  17. 4th turn: Poland finally surrenders, a french corps marches into Low Countries forests and is reduced to 1 strength. The second UK cannon fodder corps dies .
  18. Third turn: The first cannon fodder corps is dead. 2 german corps break through the french lines towards Paris. Warsaw captured, but the two remaining polish units still fighting on. Ireland reinforced for one of the last times - I reinforce until I am sure to reach Paris soon. Both Atlantic subs will be sunk next turn, but the surviving one damaged a UK cruiser in a last heroic battle.
  19. Denmark and Low Countries surrender in the second turn after a german surprise attack - Denmark has been DoWed in the first turn. Rambo is right, this time my subs were near Canada. I was prepared for a dutch gambit, one of his favourite strategys . Otherwise I would have positioned them somewhere else to threaten Allied battleships and carriers.
  20. We play our first game in the new created Zappleague. In September 1939 german main forces attack Poland while small parts operate west to either counter a dutch gambit or to conquer it fast.

  22. Like other players already mentioned, I think "Strategic Command" should be included in the name. "Strategic Command World Championship Ladder (from Zappsweden)" or something similar is one possibility.
  23. Shaka: I agree, its a game and with the current model it is highly playable. Both sides are balanced. With historical mpp Axis wouldnt have a chance to win . Iron Ranger - How can Allies win ?: There are a lot of strategys, some mentioned in other threads. Two main strategys (with equal players; and these are not the only strategys !!): 1. Allies fight hard for France and the other minors and/or the med: So Axis dont get all minors, so they never reach 900+ mpp per turn. Usually they only earn 500-600 mpp with this strategy. So Allies have the mpp advantage later in the game. 2. Allies go for tech and air superiority. So Axis get all minors and 900+mpp. But when Russia comes in the war, UK and USA starts a second front in the west. With jets Lv3 and longrange it should be no problem to kill 3-5 Axis units per turn with minimal losses. So Allies dont need that much mpp. This evens out the mpp disadvantage and more. Axis can only win if they are fast and decissive in the east. Summary: You are right there is a time frame for each side within they can win. If one side gives the other too much time to build up and doesnt attack, then the war is lost soon. But there is no pro-Axis slant. Only in the sense that it is easier to learn how to play Axis for beginners. To win with Allies you need some experience. A game with 2 unexperienced players will win mostly Axis. A game with 2 experienced players will be very balanced, probably Allies will win more games. [ May 21, 2003, 03:34 PM: Message edited by: Terif ]
  24. Correct Iron Ranger. Rockets are not used at the beginning and the middle of the game. But when Axis advancements stop, rockets become the most important unit. Against an experienced Axis player, its difficult for Allies to win without rockets at the end. They are needed as soon as trench warfare takes place and the last battle starts. Unfortunately most players concede when they think they cant win and they dont try to achieve a draw or give a good defence at the end. So rockets are only used when the full game is played. But when its played in the whole length, its the most fun .
  25. Sorry Zap, unfortunately the rules at myleague.com are not the same like in our SC ladder. Major problem is that it is created for small games like Backgammon, Chess, Hearts and such games. It is expected to play up to 50 games per day and the rules also take this into account. So you have to play at least once within 14 !! days or you will loose 5 places in the ladder (top10). Furthermore you have to play constantly at a constant rate or you will be penalized. In SC this is not possible. The games need too much time. You play some games when you have time and then there is a break. In the new ladder you would have a good chance to move down the ladder cause you cant play in one week... since the rankings are done automatically, it is not possible to change this procedure and adapt it to the SC characteristics (or is it ? I didnt see an option for something like this ). Summary: I dont want to go up and down the ladder like a ping pong ball, only cause I dont have the time to play each week a certain amount of games. Therefore I dont join the ladder. My counterproposal is: I am willing to continue our current ladder at this site (Battlefront). - I would include more statistics (e.g. Axis/Allies wins/losses, average bids... - all that is not possible at myleague.com) - new/additional rules can be discussed before reopening the ladder. (e.g. every player has to play against a lower ranked player once a month, or he will loose 5 places -> more chances to move up the ladder, nobody can only play and loose against higher ranked ones and by this way hold his place. Other scenarios than 1939 and house rules possible, if both sides agree) - the problem with inactive players in the upper ladder ranks will be solved next month. They will loose 30 places, which is already written down in the ´old´ rules. So only active players from this month will remain at the higher ranks.
