My comments: Zappsweden is a very good player, now that we knows each others strategy, the next game (same sides) would be totally different from this one. I slowed down Axis at all costs, sometimes i was too aggressive. In Spain and Algier e.g. i lost 2 US Hqs and the äquivalent of 10 armies + one carrier. So as he attacked russia i had nothing left. After he retreated in the east i tried some very expensive landings in Sweden and Germany, more than 6 russian armies died under air and naval attacks. Then i was very weak. Fortunately he didnt attack me in russia during my assault in Turkey, i had nearly nothing left there. Conclusion: I was sometimes too aggressive and lost very much units and nearly the game, but fortunately Zappsweden was too cautious perhaps because of my endless attacks. Axis has an advantage, but only if they attack fast and decisively. If allies can manage to bring them in the defensive, they have a good chance to win.

November 10, 1946: Allies liberate France. Half of Italy is occupied. Approximately 12 german units are still fighting. The End is near...

August 25, 1946: The last german hex is under russian control, but the remaining german units dont surrender. Allied troops are attacking france from all directions except italy. Transports are near italy.

July 28, 1946: Russian forces enjoy the german life in Berlin, but some scattered german units are still fighting on.

July 14, 1946: All balkan countries surrendered or have been liberated. The last battle for Berlin started.

June 30, 1946: Russian forces from Turkey reach Hungary and south germany. Berlin is under attack. The last days of the german government are near.

June 16, 1946: Romania and its oil has been conquered. A major breakthrough by russian rockets in the polish border line forced axis to retreat back to Berlin. Allied transports the whole coast along from germany to Portugal. Approximately 35 axis corps are standing at the atlantik wall. Russian denmark expedition forces reache the first german city.

March 31, 1946: Bulgaria surrenders, the battle for Normandie has begun, heavy fights in Denmark, naval battles between italian navy and US subs.

March 3, 1946: Allied landings in Denmark, large invasion forces along the coast of France and Lowlands.

November 25, 1945: Axis lost the air battle over france, most of its airfleets are destroyed and the last Hq in Yugoslavia has been eliminated. Heavy russian rocket attacks at the German border and in the balkan.

March 18, 1945: Denmark is lost, but Axis invasion in the US has failed. The last survivors will be soon in prison. Heavy air fights around Istanbul. Some air fights over France.

December 10, 1944: Sweden is liberated by the allies. Now Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Alexandria are in allied hands. Axis starts a large scale invasion in USA. US Troops are prepared.

August 27, 1944: Allied invasion forces in France, Spain, Portugal and Algier are eliminated. Norway has been liberated by allies, large scale invasion in Sweden, some russian units are landing in North Africa behind Alexandria. The last german ship sunk in the battle for Norway.

June 6, 1944: France and Denmark are liberated by UK and russian forces. US landing in Portugal. Heavy fights in Turkey and Poland.

April 16, 1944: Russia liberates Iraq and eastern Vichy france. first contact with axis forces in Egypt. US troops in Algeria are still fighting, the german Hq flees. Axis forces fortified turkish capital. Heavy air combat in France, landing troops near Brest.

January 9, 1944: Russian tanks use the first Oil from Iraq

November 28, 1943: Axis starts a massive Air, Land and Sea Campaign in Algeria. The surviving US troops stand and fight till their death - that will happen soon Russian forces are pouring into Turkey. A last try with russian elite units to end the trench warfare in the east. October 18, 1942: Finnland surrenders, no battles at the german-russian front.

August 30, 1942: The battle for Spain is lost. US forces retreat to Northafrica. Russia declares war to Finnland.

July 5, 1942: Portugal surrenders to allies. Trench warfare in germany. The US army is in danger, axis forces are everywhere in Spain. Sometimes between 15 and 20 axis units. My men are crying for reinforcements

June 14, 1942: First russian units on german soil. Madrid is surrounded by axis forces and will fall next turn. Portugals capital is surrounded by allied forces and will fall in 1-2 turns. UK troops landed in Sweden. Axis attacks Vichy.

It is important for allies to make axis pay a high price for every move. Especially when Russia enters the war, invasions have to be started to distract axis units and weaken their economy. In the game my biggest mistake was to attack Portugal one turn to early, i had not enough troops left, cause i had to protect Gibraltar and Madrid and my battleships were in the Med. But despite this the defence of Spain is a success: more than 10 axis units + Hq are not in russia, only one fighter on the russian front. Ok, they are not in Spain but in Norway and France. Anyway, this is key to success: to force axis to protect the coasts and so to weaken the axis forces on the east front.

January 1, 1942: Heavy fights in Spain, Russian forces followed the axis units and reached their first german hex. Denmark is evacuated.

Yugoslavian and Egypt forces are fighting brave. Vichy stays neutral
