  1. I don't know if CMBB has any less "mass appeal" than CMBO. It has even more "eye-candy", the graphics and sounds are both better. Just watching the movies is fun. In addition, users can make themselves more "powerful" versus the computer in the handicap system, etc., if they want an easier time of it. Ultimately, what do you think the difference in "less gamey/more realist" between CMBB and CMBO is, in percentage terms? Maybe 20%? That's not a real huge hump to get over, particularly for those who bought the first game, and even for new players who may be interested in this kind of game. Certainly, I've never really played an infantry tactical simulator before(I've done only tanks), but I haven't had any issue with the "realism" issue.
  2. Agreed. That's a truly excellent score for FiringSquad, which nitpicks even minor issues, and thoroughly plays games before reviewing.
  3. You must be including the posts by yourself and Redwolf as the "69" "Pro-Redwolf" contingent. If you count the number of POSTERS and not POSTS who come out for or against Redwolf, it's more like 4 Pro-Redwolf, 18 Pro-Steve. In fact, outside of Kloss, you and RedWolf, I don't think I've seen more than one or two other posters support RedWolf.
  4. I can't believe a few things about this thread. 1. I can't believe it's gotten to 13 pages over an "issue" that by the topic-starter's admission happens only 20% of the time, and only in a specific scenario he created. I personally can't recreate the same problem, the ISUs I put into a QB behaved fine. I thought they were a bit TOO aggressive. 2. I can't believe Steve actually feeds the trolls like Licensed Fool and others. Ignore them and they'll go back to GI Combat or Civ III. Personally, after spending 8 hours of large-scale (for the game) armor duels yesterday, I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with the AI's behavior. Green troops are far more likely to be hesitant in the face of fire, while my few examples of Crack and Elite, punched a hole right through vicious AT and T34 defence and it looked damn impressive too (losing only 1 tank). I've never seen a game where the difference between Green and Crack troops was so readily seen. I get the impression that some people want a version of chess that uses tanks. "I will move my ISU two spots, then shoot. Then I will have it move to this spot. Then shoot", etc.
  5. Is BTS located in Vermont? There's no address listed on this site, but the game was shipped from Vermont (U.S.). However, the manual uses English spellings "Colour", etc.
  6. I’d just like to say thanks to Steve and Battlefront.com over their surprisingly excellent customer service. I ordered CMBB four days ago, and I have a copy in my hand today. I ordered Tribes 2 from Sierra last year and received it THREE WEEKS later, with the world’s worst manual to boot. Unlike the very nice illustrated manual included here. How can some small company have its act so far more together than an industry leader? Now, off to see if my ISU-122 retreats before firing on a Mark IV… (sorry if this should go in General Discussion or any Cheery Waffle thread) Warren
