  1. "And they laughed when we put our Pak on top of the MKVI."
  2. CMplayer, you misunderstand. "Stalingrad" is a corps level game. In the old days of gaming, a mechanized corps was only given a bonus in the number of hexes it could move in one turn, say 3 hexes vs 1 for foot inf. "Impulse", as I proposed, would give mechanized units the ability to continue their move beyond the first contact if they had further movement points. This would simulate a blitzkrieg type advance. This concept was adapted a couple of years later into "War in Russia," a successful Australian venture.
  3. Help me here you old Avalon Hill grognards. My only published article was in "The General" in around 1966 or 1967. I've never been able to find it. It was proposing the concept of "impulse moves." The article was in reference to "Stalingrad." The article's author is the same as my post name, on this forum---name on my e-mail. I would be extremely grateful if someone has this article and could forward.
  4. CV-33, the uber-tankette ^ ^ ^ Major SPOILER coming! ^ ^ ^ ^ "Forgotten Outpost" ^ ^ ^ ^ The CV-33's can litterly reign in this scenario, against crack troops. Focus on the 1 Vickers and the battlefield is yours. The CV-33's totally terrorized and locked down a veteran opponent in a PBEM. Good mobility and not open topped.
  5. Hey JasonC, Just a second thought on this, specifically the use of the 50cal. We've all been there, initial use of your Sherm for suppression fire or recon by fire. All you need is the regular mg(s). But damn, the 50cal load is always expended. You'd like it for softer AFVs or more hardened targets, but it always flows away. I can't believe these rounds would thrown away so.
  6. Treeburst155, I think it is imperative that TFC make some sort of remark here. Yes, there would be money for the tourney sponsors and winners. The point originally was to make it more user friendly to the casual players, probably 80% of the people that follow this forum.
  7. I'd like to see an alternative to ROW. Something more akin to the NCAA. A more casual "season," by that I mean maybe one player at a time. Perhaps with regional brackets or some other demographic criteria. Point is, I don't want to sink my regular CM opponents to committ so heavily to a ROW type tourney. Couple of other points. I think BFC should have some kind of sponsorship or oversight. Also, ponying up $100 to enter is not that extreme. Consider how much time you spend on CM, time is money. I would envision this as sort of an annual tourney, maybe four month season and 3 month final. Of course with additional thought to CMX2 and other upgrades. Thoughts?
  8. OK, here's the gist of it. Lately when I get my screen shot back on PBEM, it has been on full elevation. I'm wondering if my move back to him, sometimes tweaking on a sensitive hull-down position, is the screen shot I'm sending back. Comprend? Am I just paranoid?---- willing to put up with the usual responses for one serious response.
