  1. So no drones in the simulation. I thought this last version was released in Nov 2021. I'm thinking that this is a major change, the old way is out, drones rule the sky from here on out. Not entirely, but they do seem to be a much more major component that greatly changes the concepts and theory of war.
  2. Hey, CM player from way back, & was looking @ installing BS. Question: You guys that have it, how accurate are the available weapon systems/teams? Does the CM BS contain drone strikes and supply chain issues that are the norm for the invasion? Thanks
  3. 2 things I didn't like. 1 the music, if your going to have a war movie, have the war sounds not some symphony playing. 2 only an idiot would have stayed with a immobilized tank. I would have taken the guns off & set up some kind of cover over the area, it seemed pretty open to me.
  4. That is why I got this game.... Without trees, AM tanks are knocked out from the edge of the battlefield.
  5. OK, so if it is a h2h.... Is there an adjustment that can be made in the editor that will change this? Or is it something that is inherited in the creation that is not changable?
  6. OK, another issue: I am doing FGM Bridges Three, as Allies defending Axis attack. The Axis armor or troops do not move. I went into the scenario editor and revised all the ‘objectives’ to known by both. Axis armour or troops still do not move from there entry point. I think I have everything patch correctly & it lists as V2.12. Is this running right? I don’t know why they never move.
  7. I am just getting back into CM. I experimented a little. Originally I had the tanks running fast over a wide open field and angled them through the gate into the alley (actually a bocade, two rows, 'alley' is shorter term). I was hoping they would hit the gate wide open & blast through. They were way spread out on fast but closed an bunched quickly, ended up a mess. They don't blast through! Solution, similar to yours. Bring the tanks up at fast, put a move marker right before & right after the obstacle to align the tank up, then left turn hard way up the alley. The first turn, first tank makes it through, bunching the following tanks up into the 'me first' duel. after the turn, I just paused one of the tanks about 30 seconds (the one farthest from the gate). It worked.
  8. I did pause them 15 seconds apart, the first gate was 400 yds away. They were spaced out until they got to the gate.
  9. Typical movement problems with vehicles. I have 3 tanks, I order them to go forward, through a hedgerow gate & up the alley. clear day, out of contact, just arrived as support they spend 1 turn fighting over who is going through the gate first, one makes it. next turn the last 2 fight, none make it. next turn one makes it headed the wrong direction, take the rest of the turn turning around and blocking the gate. next turn the last one goes through, then across the alley and through the adj gate & is headed up the wrong side of the other hedgerow. I don't think I am bashing, just reporting my observations. Where did I ever bash the game? Your saying this has never happened to you?
  10. Use more points when turning, like every 5 ft may help. But the driving is just crazy, especially if there is more than one vehicle involved. They should have the AI determine an order if the vehicles are within 30 feet of each other, then just take their turn.
  11. In reference to the TA situation, I did have that on during one turn. I learned during that turn that it is a little complicated. As this turn involve the panther tank was to the north about 10 yds (sitting behind some burning HTracks) and east about 20yds. The TKiller had to go south 40 yds, go east 20 yds, then turn north 30 yds to arrive at the rear of the panther. I had the target arc to the front of the tank, but when the TK moved the arc locating points stay stationary, so the panther was no longer in the arc. I am going to mess around a bit with this last turn of the battle. I was a little pissed a few turns earlier when I had 3 TK's sitting in overwatch on the road, the panther came into area from behind a bldg about 100 yds away & took out 2 TK's before either got a round off. So I was getting more skeptical about the in game AI.
  12. I'm going to hate myself... I don't think so. I was thinking it was something you do so you can make a you tube or something with it. I figured out I had the tank set to 'fast', changed the last bit to hunt and it worked better. Although I have not had such good luck with hunt, as it may target another inf team or something else, it will fire on them, then quit the 'hunt', and the main object can fire on it, but it can't see the object, yada yada yada. I don't know how to get it to restart the hunt after a target is found in the 1 min interval. I had the smoke & tree's on, this happened in a road, without mortar/vehicle smoke so it was clear air. The only smoke was straight up out of the trashed vehicles. The file is about 2800 kb (about 2700kb more than the allowed forum limit). I guess if there is real interest, I can post on a drop box, but that is more work, since we kinda resolved that issue. I guess I learned another insight.
  13. The only thing you didn't explain: What is a 'replay phase save game' and how do I do it? Never seen that button! Sorry to train wreck the OP post, but guess this is a little like the gamey game.
  14. Well, when you drive up on the rear of a panther @ 10 yds, with your barrel pointing right at it, not under any suppression. Yes, I would expect you to get a round off before the other tank spots you. You are at it's rear and it is buttoned, so I would think it would never see you as it is taking rifle fire from the front and actually firing rounds to the front. But no... it spots you and gets it's turret around 120 degrees before you crew even fires. It seems a little buggy. I have the game saved before that round.... I don't know how to save the video or ????
  15. Well we have CMx2 and we have real life. What you say about CMx2 may be true, but in real life if you are getting fired on you can fire back. If a gunner sticks his head up to fire, his head is available to receive fire. Tell me when this is not the case... in real life. As far as your other comments, blame me for CMx2 spotting errors. Ha. It was a clear day, I was controlling a able tank killer tank, the german panther was 40 yds in front be hind some burning armor, I drove to his rear @ 40 yds, turn directly towards him, there were no armor vehicles in front of me now, & it drove 20 yds from the rear and sat there for 20 seconds, the panther rotated his gun about 120 degrees to aim at the rear before the tank killer got his shot off. That was ridiculus and cannot be explained. I could not target the tank at the start of the turn because he was behind flames. It is still suspicous AI.
  16. If one MG fires on the other... the MG recieving fire physically must be able to see the other, unless the firing MG is using area fire. There are a few spotting bugs. I was in a battle where I had to pull my tank destroyer up to within 10 ft of the rear of a panther before it could see it. The AI is very suspect.
  17. OK been reading a little about the patches. Currently I have 2.12. I read on forum some had version 2 and updated to 3 patches. On the battlefront www site it states only to use version 2 patch with 2. Should I update with the version 3 patch?
  18. I actually have the Nvidia 8500GT card. The game will run under vista, but the video problem is that when your scoping the layout of the terrain out, and "ctrl-click" around a few times, the part of the old video screen shots in the background are not overwritten with "black". You still see the previous screenshot, where it still extends beyond the current screen shot boundaries. So like you can see the victory flag for a hill, and way off to the side is the same hill & flag (beyond the edge of the current battlefield screenshot). I am going to have to go back to the laptop to play the game. I tried the tweakguide, it was interesting but no cigar, thanks.
  19. looks like we need more technical horsepower for advice, I'll ask on another forum. I thought you could have more than one video card installed at once, and not have to swap them out. If you have an open slot for the new (older) card. Then you could just unplug the video cable from one to the other.
  20. What part is unclear??? If I install an older dx9 card (or earlier) and use it to run the monitor, wouldn't that work? I am not a tech guru, but the idea is simple, maybe it is a little more complicated & over my head what the problems would be? Can one not have more than 1 video card in a computer?? Running at the same time?? If so then this would work. I want to play CCMB, I hate the new game it runs like crap, buggy, interface is a mess, nothing is intuitive like the older games, etc. & I have a new vista computer, top of the line with a 8800 video card unfortunately. thanks, duriel
  21. So.... what about installing another graphics card (older DX9) version on the same computer. Will it work then???? You would have to change the video output to the other card if you want to run CMBB!!!!
  22. How do you get down to ground level? This game is too confusing, it has been gathering dust for months, it is ready for the trash can. I loved the other series, but this is just not intuitive like the others.
  23. How do reset your video resolution? I don't see a setup in the directory for ccbb, and in the game I can't find anything to point to video resolution??
  24. I got a new wide screen monitor and running 1680x1050. When I run CMBB, it sets up with something less, like 1340x980 or something (it definitely is not wide screen). Will TOW run the 1680x1050?
