  1. If i were you, i'd go get CMMOS. Its a little strange, you gotta dl a "ruleset" then install the mods for that rule set. Just go through the list and take what you want. Personally, i couldn't live without Captain Wacky's Gridded Terrains, but they don't make the game look any better, just easier to play. Edit: CMMOS keeps backups of the files the mods install, so you can always uninstall them if you wish. And i don't think you have to worry about conflicts. 2. /baetis comes out of hiding and for some good scenarios check out: http://www.militarygameronline.com/Boots_Tracks/index.php Check out the Stalingrad Pack. Also, for a newb, there are some good AARs. Have fun.
  3. Well, as of now its not really possible. Gordon, correct me if i'm wrong, but there is no file list *yet* for the uniforms. Same reason there aren't any CMMOS terrain mods. I converted Captain Wacky's Gridded Terrain's to CMMOS (God these are great, thanks CW), but i needed to write my own FileLists and put it in the appropriate directory to do so. Gordon said the next version will have new FileLists but I'm not sure the uniforms are one of them. I know he did the buildings, but other than that, i don't know. Take a look at C:\Program Files\Gem Software\CMBB\FileLists and you'll see what i mean. Edit: While I'm at it, I just wanted to thank Gordon for his excellent program. Win32 programming is about as fun as getting a root canal if you ask me, and this guy doesn't even get paid. Not to mention the work required just to write the FileLists for every vehicle. So, again, Thanks!! Edit Again: If you really want them CMMOS compatable, its not that hard. Just create your FileList (and put it in the above directory), then make your RuleSet number between 990-999 (for custom rulesets). Take a look at the thread on how to do it that someone has been writing recently. But don't release it publicly since having to add a FileList would screw up the whole CMMOS format (not to mention the RuleSet number). [ December 06, 2002, 04:56 PM: Message edited by: Baetis ]
  4. It continues to amaze me that these reviewers don't mention the Mod community. oh well...
  5. RKSoldat made a barb wire mod (among other excellent mods). You can get it here Check out some of his other mods too. Great work. This is his main page. http://www.kime.org.uk/~rkime/

  7. I will. Email me at the address in my profile if you really want me to do it. I've read the how-to, and am pretty sure i can make it happen.
  8. While not realistic, i always wondered why more CM maps weren't symetrical [sic?]. It makes for a fairer fight anyway...
  9. According to this and a few other sites i saw, the hammer was also needed to tighten the treads. Neat page too. [ November 27, 2002, 05:42 PM: Message edited by: Baetis ]
  10. I recently read that all T-34 were equiped with a hammer because they could never get into high gear properly without hammering on the gear shaft... Sorry if that is common knowledge around here. Read it in Strange and Facinating Facts of WWII, or something (fink?) like that. Edit: Thanks for the link by the way. neat read. 11. I second the vote for Go . A computer still can't come close to beating even a novice Go Player. Yeah, that article is a little old, but still just as accurate today. Edit: Removed insult to Chess. I suck at it, so i can't talk [ November 26, 2002, 04:08 PM: Message edited by: Baetis ]
  12. Sorry, i can't plug this enough. Check out Laser Squad Nemesis. Its from the people who brought you X-Com and is the only other game i play besides CMBB. CHECK IT OUT! GRR  GRR  Oh crap, did i just do that?!?!
  13. You'll "see" if you can add it to one of the mod sites? You're such a tease. Seriously though, good work. Looking forward to it.
  14. I think on like page 3 theres a link to 3dgames.com that has the CDV patch. Just look around/do a search. But there might be a reason it was taken down. Edit: I found it for ya. But i can't say if theres some reason it was taken off the cdv site. Its located at http://www.3dgamers.com/dl/games/combatmission2/cmbb_v1_01_patch.exe.html [ November 25, 2002, 09:13 PM: Message edited by: Baetis ]
  15. Yeah, thats it. Thats what i meant about your windows settings. Just rename it to whatever i put above, you can leave out the .exe part. Windows already knows its extension, and is not showing it to you. Just rename it to the above without the .exe part.
