  1. Everytime when I play a scenario with a landscape filled with grain, I notice that the speed of my pc is reduced. I realize this is because the grain is slowing down my pc. On the other hand I do like that yellow, sun-burnt grain, which resembles the situation at Kursk so well. How can I get that yellow, sandy look, without the grain?

  2. Who can tell me where I can find a map of the sector north of Caen, including the villages of Bieville, Blainville and Periers? I would like to make a scenario about the counterattack of the 21st Panzer Division (inspired by Jean-Claude Perrigaults new book on the 21st Panzer).

  3. Yes, well, I consider it to be a very unlikely story, since I've never heard of such a weapon. I also doubt whether it would have been possible to have made such a powerful weapon of such small format. And the way it had to be used sounds like a ticket to the eternal hunting fields for the poor bastard that had to use it. It wasn't one of those flashing bombs to make tank crew blind for a while to be able to reach the tank with explosives either.

  4. Today on Discovery Channel I watched a documentary on German infantry weapons. One of the experts mentioned the use (on German side) of a CD shaped anti-tank weapon. According to him this explosive had to be shoved into the chink used by the tank driver. The detonation of this CD shaped explosive was supposed to be strong enough to kill most, if not all of the crew...

Sounds unbelievable, but has anybody heard of this weapon before and if so, does anyone know where I can find more information or even pictures?

  5. In the battle parameters in CMBB we can choose between various windy conditions, like breeze, windy, strong wind and so on. However,as far as I know there is no possibility in CMBB to hear strong wind/storm during the game. Am I right or am I missing something?

I always use a wav file from another game (Steel Panthers includes some excellent sound effects), so I hear a screaming, icy wind on the background which gives a very realistic atmosphere in winter scenarios.

  6. A while ago somebody mentioned a new book on the 24th Panzer Division, called "Death of the leaping horseman". I've visited the site, took a look at it and ordered the book. Today it arrived and I just would like to say that for all those interested in German tank units/warfare, this is an excellent book. Especially if you are interested in the fighting at Stalingrad this is the book for you.
