Can anyone tell me whether there is a map available of Hill 102 at Stalingrad? It was known to the Germans as Mamai, but has become more known as Kurgan, I think. It was close to the chemical 'Lasur' factory.

I see. I was afraid of that. Thanks for your reply, Panzerman.

I wonder whether it would be possible to adjust above mentioned Marder versions, available in CMAK, to CMBB? Can anyone tell me which BMP's are necessary and whether they would work in CMBB. I'm amazed nobody done it yet, unless it is impossible. I don't like the Marder version in CMBB and would like to change it to another version.

At least he is honest. I bet he's not the only one using illegal copies, so get off his back. But one thing is for sure, Jochen, real wargamers should support the few high quality wargames that are available by buying the original.

We own a lot in Canada, you mean ?

Michael, here is one of the few links (well, actually the only one) I could find. Still in development though by the looks of it and not very enlightening.

Seems to have been a battle between French and German (Waffen SS?) troops. I will try to find out more.

Graag gedaan en succes met je scenario.

ZL also could mean Zoeklicht (search light). Not at all sure of that, just a suggestion with regard to the area this unit covers on the map.
-
49th PEL.LU.MITR 49ste Peleton Luchtdoelmitrailleurs (49th Peleton Air target Machine Guns)
3 III ZL.AFP.TL Hmmm, ZL probably means zelfstandig (indepedent), AFD means afdeling (detachment), TL, no sorry, haven't got a clue, probably AA.
77 BT.LU.A 77ste luchtdoelbatterij (77th battery air target)
The Dutch AA batteries shot down at least 300 German planes in less than five days, although it must be said that a large part of them were slow Ju-52 transport planes which tried to land on and near the reasonably defended airfields near Den Haag and Rotterdam.

Leibstandarte...

Yep, also got one. Intercepted fortunately.

Keke, where can we download this great looking map?

I placed my order for a copy today. I understand that the book is based upon the tactics used in the earlier part of the war. I wonder whether these experiences from the campaigns of 1940-41 were still usable in 1942-1945?

Stop moaning about those Marders and fight!

It might look better, but can't touch Combat Mission.

One of the best new features for CMAK are the new Marder III R and H versions, to my opinion. I wonder why they haven't been included in CMBB and whether there are plans to adjust them from CMAK to CMBB if that is possible. Personally I would like to see that very much.
-
It is also 3 times as expensive and a lot harder to keep in touch with the enemy during an attack.
-
I have a simple rule. In the attack take light MG 42 (for the obvious reason that it moves a lot faster) and in the defence take the heavy MG 42, because you usually don't have to move it as much as in the attack and it's firepower is much better.
To my experience it is very difficult to co-ordinate the movements of the heavier support weapons and the assault squads. My squads have to wait freqently until the MG and mortar teams have catched up and taken favourable fire positions. Very frustrating, but very realistic.
-
Sounds like an excellent idea. The old Panzer Commander game used to have that feature and it gave an impression of endless space, espcecially fighting in the steppes of Russia. CMAK has now bigger maps and it gives much more room for flank attacks and other manoeuvres.

And your first Tiger on Beyond Overlord Mods is a Pz IVG.
-
I second that, well done Andrew, thank you!

You're a man of your word, Limey! Excellent! Finally a decent Humber Scout car. Well, more than decent that is. Thanks for your trouble.

Thanks for that great looking map, Kingfish. But what I actually meant is an already for CMBB made map. I should have been more clearly. Sorry about that and thanks again.
