  1. actually it was in my neighbors yard (next page) to be exact lol.
  2. I wish i could get some snow, but not in north Florida i'm afraid. The guys a BFC did one helluva a job with the winter and snow effects. At level 1 the falling snow just puts me in the christmas spirit. I generated a random map and was taken a back at how well its modeled. Windy and the snow clinging to the trees etc.
  3. I've checked out a few sites but havent had any luck.
  4. Gotta go with Scipio on this one. I use the unit bases, but a smoking tank that would randomly explode on occasion would certainly add to the CMBB experience. This was an interesting occurance in close combat, especially when inf. were moving by one of these potential time bombs.
  5. Cable here, once you have it you can never go back.
  6. This got rid of my gamma problems http://www.entechtaiwan.com/ps.htm go to the bottom for downl. Once you install, just hit CTRL ALT + or - to adjust the brightness.
  7. I love the jammed MG, just another nuance that reflects the reality of the battlefield. I like it when i have to say " my covering fire was pretty good till my Mg 42 jammed...DAMNIT!"
  8. Normal!? Normal!? i thought this was normal..lol. Plz dont screw up a good thing.
  9. Very nice Tiger ..i'll take that Stuggy anyday.
  10. The cutest though has to be the Pz. II with the 20mm..just nifty without being too brass.
  11. Of course by the time we have a CM3 or 4, computers and software will be more advanced, we could do away with abstract inf. squads. Having every man represented ala close combat, except better. Maybe have names for all soldiers as well. But this new engine would still be turn based..too much to keep up with in realtime.
  12. The long range encounters are brutal against the german guns. The Pz. IV's 75mm L48 more than hold their own against the T-34s from my early experiences on the steppes.
  13. I've noticed it with the 122mm short barrel/gun at longer ranges which made since given less effectiveness at longer ranges, havent tried the 152 as of yet.
  14. Dunno if it would matter in CMBB but the angle of the 85mm was not perpendicular or 90 degrees to the KT's flank. The shell came in more at a 45 degree angle..which may not matter anyway at that range.
  15. The T-34/85 cannot be underestimated. From around 700m with 2 flank shots the 85 knocked out a King Tiger of mine in a test battle. The KT couldnt or didnt swing its turret fast enough to save itself.
  16. This is my 1st experience with CM and i am very pleased with CMBB. For me one of the most overlooked aspects is LOS. By that i mean getting down to level 1 and moving the camera around. Looking at opposing units at levels 3 and 4 you would swear each unit would have a clear LOS, however Battlefront has done a great job with land contours in how complex they can be.What looks like flat land is really not at all flat in many cases. You cant take for granted when you will or will not have clear LOS.
  17. Sorry about that Sergei, the scenario i played is a modded one.. cant remember where i got it but its not a stock one.
  18. Chad you are right on with the Stug IIIF/8. I played early wittmans scenario, its a heavily wooded map. Was taking some heavy losses to the t-34's when i just massed 2 of the stugs, side by side, behind a row of trees/bushes. Six t-34's coming down the main road were destroyed with just 2 Stugs, one unit was a crack the other an elite.
  19. Is there a grass mod. available for CMBB now?
  20. hope there are no mailman on this board lol.
  21. Relax Mannheim, you have at least 4 or 5 days til that happens lol. Whats so funny? This could be serious.
  22. Will the mailman leave CMBB in our box ( i have a standard size box)or do they have to make a door delivery for this baby. Kinda hope he leaves it in the box cause no one is at home during the day.
  23. Just a question, which folder do you extract to in placing a graphix mod.
  24. I remember in my Close Combat 3 days how slow the IS-2 was at loading shells compared to the big cats. The panther was also cheaper to purchase in requisition and every bit as effective with its 75mm as opposed to the 122mm.
