  1. Nice work!! Always have been a great fan of sunflowers Van Gogh could have painted them better ...but euuhh where can I download this marvelous mods?? I can't seem to find it at these page: http://www.wargamer.com/cm/cmworld/ But I'm probably not looking with both eyes closed... gr Screeny
  2. tjee and a new question, I start questioning my own intelligence............. Scrougned units: suposse I have 3 battles won and the dies gave me 20, 30, 50 pts for these troops. Now way you can by any inf for that so all you can buy in support troops but after a battle of ??? with 10<pts<90 all I end up with are small individual support units. Yes in the beginning a couple of MG/tankhunters and some smal PAK are welcome but some extra core platoons might be welcome as well. Is there any way to "save" this Scrounged units points untill you have enough to buy a extra platoon???
  3. And once again...a question.... ready for my second battle filled out the sheets according the rules (went pretty smooth this time) ready for generating the Real battle....well I know how to calculate the experience of my core troops but how to calculate tehh exp. of my Auxil. troops???? Guess I missed something gr Screeny
  4. Hey all, On the map thing: I tried once making maps in CMBO, and from the technical point it is pretty easy and straight forward. Only problem I have/had is that (and this is the "tip" part of the post ) the map looked really "artifical", somehow too not-realistic, mainly too structured (Rural area's looked like cityparcs). So the trick I have now is that I have an idea (rural meeting engagement, important city attack etcetcetc) I use this parameters for the map generator in the scenario editor and then modify this map. For rural area's most of the time I leave it because the AI randomly generates it just as nature "generates" the enviroment randomly. Only thing I really edit on the natural thingies are the rivers and sometimes some additional trees. Most of the time I'll edit mainly the human build infrastructure and yes most important: THE OBJECTIVE FLAGS!! . The AI has indeed some weird ideas on Objectives and the European city/village development through the ages. YEs we didn't planned all inm straight blocks and suburbias but so chaotic as tAI generatores them ....... . gr Screeny
  5. Heya all, this is really a challenge playing with this rules!!!!! Mhaaah how frustating yet how much I learn. First battle: open steppe/small hills, nowwhere to hide beside some "low ground". I must admit I'll "cheat" a little the first 2 or 3 battles as the terrains are all new to me, I never played them before (mostly played the usuall CMBO QB ME 1500 against human). So I will play the first 2 or 3 battles a couple of times untill I think the losses are acceptable (lost 40% of my men in the 2 first rounds of my first battle thx to a Rusky Arty barrage .....). So yes it is a big change in tactical- and strategic thinking, plannng and operating, yet still really very cool, exciting and challenging!!! Thx again mate!!! gr Screeny
  6. Hahaha, very funny indeed, finally I think I have it all figured out. even the aux thingie..setting it all up...take a first look at the battlefield...mhhhwhere are my core panzers?? mhhh no where to be seen.....stress panic is my CMBB corrupt?? wait a minute...roll f the die: casulties first battle=20% (and that before the whole Barbarrosa disaster started)..Nice way to start the conquest of the biggest nation in the world....But ok I'll give it a try open terrain so my infantery has lots of open space so at least they can see the horizon and see the Rusky coming . But now for the question: how do I handle the missing units at the after battle calculation?? MIA?? or just as "not been in action but available for next battle but no experience points??" gr Screeny
  7. Heya, It's late, I'm tired I read and re-read teh sheet and Word doc, and finally I think I figured it all ou thow it works. I start working myself through the rules. Finally done and want to start setting up to "Real battle QB" in CMBB....so far so good. As it is the first battle I follow the following sentence: "You start with a Core Force of Green Motorized Inf Co (Pz) 343 points; Panzer 11C (43 points) Panzer 111G (78 (points); Panzer 1VE (105 points) = Total 569 (Purchase Points) and a Favor of zero." The panzers no problem but where the heck can I find a Motorised Inf Co (green) for 343 pts?? The closest I can get to is 314 pts (green mechanised inf)..if I buy it as a whole company incl a Co HQ. If I buy them as seperate platoons I get even closer but still no cigar?? Mee doing something wrong or error in rule text?? gr Screeny
  8. Mhhhh Thought so that it wasn't possible, I tried all I good think of on a test range, the damn wall still stands after a barrage of 105 mm houwitser...Heck, my dad wishes he had a wall in the garden separating it from the neighbours' garden Well you can't have it all, maybe in CM III (Are there any rumors around what theatre we will be playing then?) gr Screeny
  9. Hey question here: It's possible to shoot down houses with guns, is it also possible to shoot holes in stone walls?? If it is possible the destroy a complete house, how hard can it be to shoot a hole in a stone wall that is blocking my sight? gr Screeny
  10. Hey all, Just got CMBB, and thought let's play a nice tiny little infantery scenario to get the hang of it: Winderwonderland, snow, night, 30 mtrs of LOS. Playing 7 times now with the Germans it is a big massacre for me. Before I can spot any enemy 3 to 4 of my squads are eliminated...... I read quite some posts on CMBB, the differences with CMBO, the new commands (Assualt, advance etcetcetc), advanced Infantery tactics...nothing seems to help. no way there is a way to do some recon or something like that, tried all kinds of advancing, moving towards the objectives is deadly. Please tell me this scenario playing as axis with default settings is impossible or give me some (non standard) tips to get this done. I'm terrible at this game but not this bad (I hope) gr Screeny

  14. Hey all, This is not a CM specific question, rather a more general question. What kind of units would have protected airfields in allready conquered territories?? (i.e. airfields which are deep in the "German Reich" and not under direct thread of being attacked, yet still in by German occuppied territory) Would regular Inf. division "resting" be sitting at these kind of airfields or would the Germans use Luftwaffe ground troops for guard and AA duties??? or some other kind of troops?? Any info would be welcome, on any level of detail gr Screeny
  15. Hey Schultzie, Thanks for the tip but I was referring to CMBO. But I'll keep the CMBB cover arc tips in mind. Hopelfully a package will arrive this week. gr Screeny
  16. Hi all, I read a post on (arty) areafire and yes it does make sense to supress the enemy with it. Now consider the following: Two opposing patches of wood with in one the enemy Inf and in the other one my inf. In order to take the enemies positions I give my FO an areafire order to supress the enemy inf. All so far ok, however (and now my question) Now I want to move my inf in. (So crossing the open field between the patches of wood). If I cancel the area fire order, will the enemy inf be on it toes again before my inf reached them?? because if I don't cancel the order my inf will walk straight in to my own arty......So question is whether some one has some idea's on this ????
  17. yep....I read the manual more carefully..thx anyway
  18. I'm trying to configure a firewall so I can host TCP/IP games as well. So basically I need to open the CM specific port. The question: on what portnr does CM communicate in TCP/IP??
