  1. Where can I find the CMBB patch for the CDV version? (I renstalled my PC this weekend figuring no need to back up cmbb as I have the cd and the patch should be down loadable somewhere...I just back uped my PBEM folder. However all the games/download sites seem to have deleted the CDV patc for CMBB from their servers? pleae help! Have some PBEM opponents waiting
  2. In the editor you can place sandbags in a scenario. Are these just eye candy or they they give any bonus in protection and/or hiding?

  5. mhh now I know I knew teh answer but what was the difference between hunt (drive medium speed stop when enemy in LOS and shoot) and M-to-C (drive medium speed stop when enemy in LOS and shoot)?
  6. True, I had the same problem (I forgot about that one ) I downloaded WinG32.dll from DLL World ( http://dll.yaroslavl.ru/ ) and placed it in the Windows\system32 folder. </font>
  7. mhh too happy too soon Does that Windows 95 version of PG can be made working under Windows XP ? or is it absolutly necassy to have a win95 system running?

  9. Does any one know where or whether this game is still available?? I lost it long time ago...(shame on me) and since trying to find it somewhere... this whole WW2 gaming started with PG1 for me so for old time sake I am desperate to fpurchase it again.. any one an idea?
  10. Ah now we are talking, thx mate...basically all were more or less doing the same thing only some did it better in a certain period/theatre then others in a certain period/theatre. All differnce bog down to the real fine print/details I guess

  12. Ok here goes for all you grogs out there who love to talk about WW2. After a couple of years reading the usual popular WW2 "literature",playing the standard PC war games and reading a lot on this forum I slowly getting grasp of the in rth etitle mentioned subjects. However I still not really can tell the differences between the different nations (Germany, UK, France, Russia, USA, ...) in relations to the above mentioned themes. For example, this whole poeha about Panzer divisions..in any semi-serious docu on tv these are displayed as invincible units, you know the usual wawawa about how the Germans concentrated their armor in division while the others nations spread their armor over several units...However I have read here and in several other sources (liek for instance a small look at the OoB's) that other nations had their armoured divisions as well...So what is teh differences between a Panzer division and a UK armour division or US or USSR Armour division.? This is just an example of some of the things I don't understand. Smae for" germany->Blitzkrieg/combined arms, USSR -> excell in operational planning (?) So basically what I'm asking is whether some one can summarize teh basics for teh above themes per nation? gr Screeny

  14. Logistics......think of a good way to do logistics....in combination with what was mentioned earlier..a layer on top of cm..(basically teh campaign tool) but yeah logistics would be my suggestion
  15. mhh stupid me but what is the RL advantage of a SPW above a truck (as I understand in RL SPW were hardly used in assaulting/battlefield conditions, so why bother with the armour if all you want to do is transport people fast from a to b? was it mainly the fact that SPW apparwently have better off road capabilites? Did this matter so much in the "big" picture?) Sorry for asking but it does intrigues me what the idea/reasonong was for this obsession with SPW's
  16. Nop only during TCP/IP sessions...weird he? and to make things more complicated...not always....I have this feeling (but still need to test it one day ) it occurs when I ALT+TAB during the action/movie phase... NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX/MX 400

Well haven't played for a long time but since I lately started playing tcp/ip again I have this problem: Once i log in and use ALT+TAB, for example to switch to a chat program to notify opponent I have all set up and ready to connect, and switch back via AlT+TAB to CMBB my status/task bar at the bottom of the CMBB screen is screwed... I don not see the GO button any more , no more play, rewind, forward buttons no more scrolling , changing view level buttons to be seen any more. I know +/- where they are so I "blind" clivk in the dark space to press GO but as you understand it is pretty annoying. Any one encountered such a problem before? could this be a video card (-settings) problem?
  18. I myself still haven't got CMAK..but I was wondering...did any one made allready a scenario in which the 3 famous piramds in Egypt are to be seen?? Hehehe maybe even some one made one inclusing the Sfinx....

  20. Jason, One quick question: what if my opponent locates the 76mm gun and takes it out of the equation in turn 5 with mortar fire? This question because if my oppononent reads your "essays" he will for sure take at least 1 mortar with him on the defeence. (I am asking as I have never luck with guns against human opponents, teh usually don't life long once the ope nnfire . in teh above you have the gun open fire pretty soon and it seems to survive pretty long. Is it so far away from the enemy frontline that the enemy only has a sound contact??

  24. mhhI guess the surrend singular units option would be useless...Why would I surrender a unit that is doing a death dance?? They make great distraction and great enemy ammo absorbers...No way I will feel sorry for those dudes..despite the inmense great game it is and the cool grafics...they are still digital soldiers...best thing would be inideed (imho) to have the coding altered so that units instead of doing a useless death dance will auto surrender more quickly aspecialiy if enemy units are really pretty close (so surrender at 4 death in a 9 men squad instead of oly the last men surrenderig) my 2 centimos
