Hi guys !
At last, after some "pinky spot" problems, my mod is ready. It includes a winter version version for both vehicles in the same ZIP file. As you surely know, these AFV share some BMP files.
Here is the screeny :
Available at cmmods.com
All the best.

Well well well... russian tanks (not captured one) with german colours... I wonder what would political commissars say to tank crews painting their vehicle like this
All your textures are very, VERY, nice to see... ...on a Panther Maybe
Anyway, I don't remember the book where I've seen it but some russian T34 were camouflaged in a tri-color camo scheme. It was some large vertical stripes, a bit like a JagdPanther scheme.

You're welcome
I would agree with Sgt Kelly about concealment in steppe terrain for immobile units. As long as they don't move, soldiers are still hidden in their starting positions. Here too, I didn't test anything
Maybe someone could create a test scenario ?
Also, is there no concealment when units don't have foxholes or trenches at the beginning of the battle ? Are soldiers hidden even if they are gently waiting for orders, without any concealment ? Or steppe terrain provides automatically a good cover ?
In that situation, the player could consider steppe terrain like tree terrain ! I mean, I usually set my infantry in wood, tree or forrest (I don't talk about buildings) at the beginning of a scenario. Then, is steppe providing the same concealment "value" ? The only difference would be : steppe terrain is good for cover only for immobile units which stay hidden since turn #1...
Is there any "concealment" values / statistics from BFC for the different terrain tiles ? We could the compare...
All the best.

Here my result of "steppe" with Google :Originally posted by Alfatwosix:it consists of ankle-high vegetation, no trees at all (sometimes driving for 6 hours from one town to the next) ... then again, the Germans never came that far.... maybe the Kazak steppe is diferent from the Russian and Ukrainian one...

Hello all !
I'm actually making a winter mod for the Marder III and Wespe model. As you surelly know, these vehicles share the same BMP files. I've done these textures but, on the Marder III, the main gun has a different texture than the rest of the AFV. On the other hand, the Wespe is good : gun and vehicle are identical. Does the Marder III use the Pak 75mm gun texture ? Or did I forgot a BMP file ? My files come from Kingfisher's "Modder's series".
Any help
Best regards and good 4th July
-
Thanks !
I have also downloaded the Kingfisher's "Modders series" files (thanks to him also !) for Marder III and Wespe. These vehicles share the same BMP textures. I'm now going to make them winter versions like this one.

Hi Marcus,Originally posted by tools4fools:I really do like the Winter Marder; However the white color on the trret number, German cross and killrings seems to be to "pure and bright" to me on all vehicles. They stand out too much in my opinion. Otherwise good work!

You're right, it looks too bright...
Here is my version #2 :

No, it's a RUSSIAN vehicle ! In 1943, some captured german light AFVs were converted into "adhoc" infiltration-combat-vehicle with suicide crew... These false panzer were thrown into german lines during night and open fire at day to vehicle rear of itOriginally posted by Panzertruppe:Actually I believe that is a product of sabotage by the Polish slave workers in Germany during the war!!!
Cheers !

What a wonderfull texture   !!!Originally posted by Zimorodok:i did start on the t34/85 m44...
Zimorodok
If this is a german captured T34, please remember to add a LOT of german cross... ...if you don't wanna see your PAK firing at you
IIRC, historically, the Balkenkreuz, on captured vehicles, were very visibles and put on many surfaces : turret, rear, sometime front armor. I remember some photos in "Panzer color" of a SU85 and a Firefly captured : markings everywhere !!
All the best.

Hello all,
I actually play a PBEM meeting engagement battle with a friend. He plays the germans, me the russians... ...we are turn 3 IIRC, and I have localized a light AFV...
Tell me where is the problem ! Is it a wrong BMP file or an error of programming ? Or is it a prototype of action-reaction-light-AFV
-
Thank you for your posts
I have redone my winter Marder II : the killrings and the balkenkreuz are less visibles, more "snowed"... I also put some mud on the roadwheels and the bottom hull.
This will be avalaible at cmmods.com ASAP, but I lose my preview  I'll keep you informed.
For Lcm1947 : what do you suggest to make units more visible ? I'm thinking about aerial recognition flags but you may have another idea ?
Now, I'm going to read the Gautrek's tutorial
All the best.

Hello gentlemen,
I have finally done a winter version of my early Tiger I. If somebody could tell me how to realize snow settled on the surfaces, aerial recognition flag and outlined numbers
Markings and killrings are optionals.
Here are summer and winter version of the early Marder II (grey version). The preview of the winter version doesn't show properlly the tools on the vertical surfaces...
This has been fixed, don't worry if you download it
Bicolor version :

Where to download ? Oh, come on, at the usual place

Yes, yes, yesOriginally posted by Zimorodok:it's amazing, I'm the only poster on this thread!
does anybody use any of these?
Zimorodok
Quite a wonderfull job ! During the time you made all that stuff : Panzer IV, Tigers, Ferdinand, PSW, SPW...... ...I slowly put a whitewash to my Tiger ! I'm a green modder, when you're a crack !
Any project about a snowy Panther G ?
Best regards and please continue !

Hi !
I wasn't there for the entire week-end so thank you to all for the posts
Reading this is a nice moment !
Yes ! Why not, but this is an early Tiger. Is the marking historically correct for winter 42-43 ? Anyway, I will test it !Originally posted by Zimorodok:Hey Bogdan. How about using the late-war balkenkreuz
It would be nice but I'm a green modder, how can I do this nicely ?Originally posted by Warmaker:A little bit of snow settled on horizontal surfaces would add a bit to it.
I was seriously thinking about itOriginally posted by Rob Murray:It looks very good. May I suggest that if you put tactical numbers on it; use 101 or 808? Something along those lines so that they look correct on both sides of the vehicle. I'm thinking about CM's mirror effect.
It would be great : a svastika flag with oil spots and snow... ...but maybe a bit hard to realize for meOriginally posted by tooz:Aerial recognition flags (as an option) are always welcome, IMO.
Ok then, some work to do now !!
All the best.

Sure it's not very careful to say that kind of %@#%£ (
) about France or any, ANY nations involved in a war...
Which army/nation never lose or retreat ??
Anyway, I have also experienced KVI which retreat when approching StuG III by the rear  It seems that this kind of assault gun have very bad and dangerous reputation in the Red Army

Hi Gentlemen,
I have recently reopened the PSP files of the Tiger and "play" with... ...trying different camo tests, I finally create a whitewashed scheme
Here is the pic :
It needs some fixes (I have forgottent the turret roof
) and maybe some improvements : markings for example ?
Any suggestion is very appreciated
Best regards
Suggestion for the future : Why not reinforcements in QB ?
in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Posted
Hello gentlemen,
Like many other guys there and around, I mostly play Quick Battles with my opponents (PBEM...). After many battles, an idea comes to me. I don't know if someone talk about this thing before here but let's go![smile.gif](smile.gif)
I know this option will not be available in CMBB, BFC said that 1.03 patch was the last update (Dooh ! ) but... Why not setting reinforcements in QB ?
Imagine the settings pannels : It would be interesting to add a value of points to allow for reinforcements and indicate a turn (or a period of the battle : first quarter, middle...) when these extra-units would appear. Of course, all these settings could be random : AI would select in your purchase list which units to keep behind (word ?). It could take 10, 20, 30% of your order of battle, or a random percentage. Or computer could select the turn of entry (like now in scenarios) and the border area of the map where reinforcements would come in ?
Maybe in CMAK...![](//content.invisioncic.com/r254563/emoticons/default_rolleyes.gif)
...or in CMX2...![](//content.invisioncic.com/r254563/emoticons/default_rolleyes.gif)
