  1. bump Catch up will be Feb 3. See the AK thread...
  2. Yes, that's right. An awful scenario it turned out to be. Midday warm with fog...pleease!! Designed by someone with a fetish for Russian SMG squads. *sigh* Picking them randomly don't always work. What's the HPS - Normandy?
  3. Chee Yan, sorry we can't rendezvous this time, but I'd be up for another go in late March. We'll try and accommodate you and Hunter first of all as you're both absent for this one.
  4. Yair, I'll upgrade up to a T-34/85 for this one, shall I? btw. Can we say "7pm for 7.30". If you're a little late and we've gone out to the green for a roll (booked from 7.30), I presume you can ask at the bar for the booking under "Harry Harrison" and they'll direct you to the right place. AGENT SMITH, my god man, I'm just down the hill in Preston and I TOO am sick of looking for CM opponents in other TZs. Let's organise some rumbles!! I think we've crossed paths in the past, eh. How are the kids? I'm too lazy to read rules... CM is comfortably intuitive so it's pretty well the only game I play with. Also, I was a miniature gamer back in the 80s. Like the pretties of figures, which is the other reason I do CM. Eeemm me and we'll swap phone numbers and see what we can sort out. Maybe you can expand my horizons. I wouldn't mind fighting something above battalion level. Also, you likely to come along to the bowls club for a squash?
  5. I'll be the good looking one who isn't actually selling anything! See if you can find the HarryInk pic at http://www.frappr.com/bandofbrotherscmgamingclub Looks like Major Disaster can't come cos it's his little boys birthday. Hunter will be down at the Prom, he says, and Chee Yan not back yet. So hopefully we'll have Bullet Rat, VonJake, Zalgiris, me, Mace... If the game is good, we might try another get together in late March/early April before the weather turns, eh.
  6. Righto. FRIDAY FEBRUARY 3, 7pm. "FITZROY & VICTORIA" BOWLS CLUB. 578 Brunswick Street,Fitzroy North (Melways 2C C1 or 44 B1) I've booked a green for a roll of bowls from 7.30 (assuming a quorum of 4+ of us), so bring $10 to rent yer balls(!). You get a couple of hours of easy chat about CM, and a chance to snigger at men (and women) fumbling with balls while you imbibe the amber fluid under the elm trees at dusk. (btw, I've only ever played about 3 games bowls in my life about 8 years ago. It's the slow-movements-with-stubby-in-hand aspect of it that I remember liking the most. ) I think it's just bar food @ the club but I'll confirm that later. 7. Well, Chee-Yan can't crack it on the 3rd. Shall we stay on that date anyway or slip back another week? I'm presuming the Friday night is best, ya?
  8. Er...Northern Suburbs Gamers Assoc. http://www.nsga.org.au/ You done/in the Western Suburbs one?
  9. You gonna fret yourself into a lather, aren't you. Hey, Chee-Yan, I wanna come along to some wargame club meetings this year. Didn't your group have a website and/or contact details. Can you direct me, please? [ January 14, 2006, 02:19 PM: Message edited by: HarryInk ]
  10. I once used to know a few of the hotkeys for fighting the CM map thingo. Can anyone direct me to anywhere/site that has them listed?
  11. Feb 3... Friday too. Would you be able to make it Chee-Yan if we slipped it back a week? Zalgiris, bloody oath you can!!
  12. IF you want Byte Battles, check out: http://www.kretsen.nu/bytebattler/bb_start.htm
  13. Well, make a suggestion Sunshine! Looks like the bowling club's right 'til 8ish on a Friday (at a discount!) but I think they run for another hour or two after that. I'll give 'em a ring to check. Far as I know they just stay open 'til everyone buggers off, more or less. First suggestion: How would Friday 27 January @ 7:00pm suit you?
  14. Posted a thread about a catch up and/or TCP games on the AK forum.
  15. HarryInk's interested in a cold beer somewhere quieter than last time. Actually, how about the Nth Fitzroy Bowls Club!! We could even have a roll!!. See... Also looking for some evening TCP opponents while school holidays last. Cheers
  16. Dunno about balanced... it is but also full of surprises..not all nice... Anyway, try CMAK Village Fracas. It's a hoot. Not a battle but a bloody good fight. Also try CMBB Road to Moscow. Email me. Should be able to send you either/both.
  17. Oh yair. From memory the Walloon ones did not work so well for me. I've really been digging around. The scan you sent me....oooh la la...got me enthused! Also had some interesting stuff from a Bulge vet: Jim Cullen. Very interesting first hand accounts of 36th Arm'd Inf/3rd Arm'd Div pursuit of the nazis. Still sniffing for the terrain off the map. btw. Did you check out the scenario? Don't use it cos I screwed up and didn't set the German units to be eligible for exit points. Email me back if you're interested to play test it with me.
  18. Title says it all. Anyone know good sources? Currently I'm sniffing about for Bulge terrain...
  19. Bravo mate. Great news, great new site, great amount of kudos to you for providing this wonderful service to the community. Thanks.
  20. You're a legend. Email duly sent. harryink@alphalink.com.au is my addy.
  21. LMAO I once did read that all battles are off the edge of maps! I'm amazed at your resources! My choice of the 14th was arbitrary though the diary notes that action against a pocket of Germans that would make a nice scenario. The scenario I'm working up is any good action involving Von Mellenthin's 9th Panzer Division in its retreat from the wooded hills NW of Houffalize after January 5 1945. Seems this US unit might have been fighting elements of it from the larger scale maps I looked at. It's Corps is in the right area at the right time.
