  1. Under my Account > Orders page, none of my orders have a product name, just an ID.   This is really not very helpful.  I saw another post about this and am wondering if names will be added in later?

Also when clicking on a link under my CMBN Battle Pack order, it leads to a Page Not Found.  Also, it would be more informative if there was some text that said something like - "no separate download for this product; it is included in the Base Game download.  All you have to do is enter your Battle Pack activation code after running the Base Game Installer"

I have seen that type of behaviour from tank path finding across all CM2 games. The type of terrain and proximity to houses, trees or other vehicles makes it more likely. Target arcs to not control facing of the entire vehicle, there is a Face command for that.

It still seems to me that this behavior is a serious bug, and should be corrected.  Obviously, this "bug" is highly unrealistic, and it has serious consequences which can affect the outcome of a scenario.

Seems like this is a pretty serious bug.  The unit also ignored the Covered Arc which is supposed to control Facing, as mentioned in a previous post.  Or was this User error?

I see a lot of voting :) but not much commentary ? No questions ? ( the black squares are "?" icons that weren't in the game yet ).

How are the UnCons communicating their spotting information to your main force?  I am wondering how this is happening, especially since you have a Force consisting of units from several different countries.  Can you post a screenshot showing the communication links?

Ah actually that is one thing, mine does not crash the game, but I get terrible mouse lag on the overlay when using it on combat mission, but taking screenshots and videos works alright and I can just open the overlay once I close combat mission and then save/edit/upload whatever I want.

Within the GeForce Experience software go to In-Game Overlay, turn it on, and then go to In-Game Overlay > Settings.  Set your key commands for screenshots and recording (Alt-F1, Alt-F9).

Close the In-Game Overlay, and close GeForce Experience.  Then start Combat Mission.  Just use Alt-F1 within the game to capture screenshot, and Alt-F9 to start and stop recording.  Very easy and no lag or issues.

  6. I use Nvidia's GeForce Experience software, In-Game Overlay for taking videos and screenshots in CM.   Just make sure that you change some of the default key commands in the In-Game Overlay so that they don't interfere with CM key commands.  So, if you have an Nvidia graphics card check it out.  It works well once you get used to the interface.

Canada has the 105mm gun Leopard 1, though an upgraded/uparmored type.
What I'm looking forward to most is red-on-red QB play using 1960s/early 70s equipment. T55Ms, early model T62 and early export model T72, BMP-1s and BTR-60s. I want to be able to bounce shells off armor again instead of the guaranteed long range penetrations of modern war.

Mikey,  didn't you make the famous Africa mod for CMSF 1?  I am really hoping that makes a comeback with CMSF 2.

For example, right now we have a unique situation of a Soldier model in CMFI R2V that we're trying to find a work around for because in 10 years this particular situation hasn't come up.

And yes, we are aware of lots of ways the current TO&E code can be optimized/simplified.  Engine 1 (original CMBN) and Engine 2 implemented a lot of those changes, but like so may things we're stuck with the basic framework.  We definitely won't be using this framework beyond CM2.

    Steve

    Steve,

Can you elaborate a bit more on the Soldier model situation that you listed above?  Sounds interesting.  Do you have any plans to show screenshots or video for the upcoming CMFI R2V in the near future?

Also, would you be willing to share your thoughts on the future? Above, you mentioned not using the current TO&E framework beyond CM2.  As you have described on the forums, BFC has stayed in business for quite a long time in a very difficult market, and you have also shown that you recognize the limitations of CM2.  So, with that being said, I expect that development of the CM3 Engine is well underway.  Can you elaborate on this at all?  Will the current TO&E as well as artwork be able to be imported into the new CM3 engine?

    Thank you.

I downloaded both files.  One said Upgrade 2.0 and one said 2.0 and was 5 Gb.  I downloaded within an hour of it showing up on the forum.  Another person on the forum mentioned the exact same thing.  When upzipped they both say 2.0, not one of them says 4.0.

You can gripe about your customers all you like, but over several upgrades, a steady message has come through that the numbering system is confusing.  Either  anumber of your customer base is stupid, you aren;'t communicating well, ot it is confusing.  The same comments are showing up on grogheads as well.

I totally agree.  The naming and numbering system is convoluted, confusing, and overly complicated, especially for someone new to the CM Series.  A possible solution, since BFC is reluctant to change things would be to create a Table.

This Table could have all of the CM games listed, along with modules, patches, and engine upgrades listed for each game.  Presenting all of this information in Tabular format would really help your customers, and be an easy quick reference.

This Table should be on the Battlefront Website as well as in the Forums.

You know i was just yesterday praising the AI, but it seems I've found a somewhat major bug. the AI likes to set up picnics in hedges and low bocage. what will happen is a pixeltrupen or two will not follow his squad if he hangs around those hedges, i'm not 100% sure its the hedges causing it, but the 3 times I've spotted this behavior they involved hedges. I of course have a save file featuring a pretty bad case where I moved a squad halfway across the map before noticing, if anybody wants to see it.

I have noticed the same issue while playing Mark Ezra's new CM:BN Scenario - Last Defense v4.0.  It happened with hedges and troops moving through woods as well.

Not privy to the thought process of the BFC Star Chamber but their last few product releases have been 'soft launches', giving the release news a couple days to filter-down before making an official announcement. There might have an advantage to that on the back end. Mitigate any big download slowdowns associated with everybody jumping onto the product at once. That may not be accurate but it seems logical.

    Hey Mikey,

Where is the Annual Christmas Bone Thread?  It has been tradition for BFC to include some info on upcoming products at the end of the year, however, this year I haven't seen anything regarding the new CM:Fortress Italy module or CM:Red Thunder.  Any insight into what is going on?

Those "soft releases" and a lack of information on what is in the pipeline, seems like very curious decisions for a company trying to sell product.

  14. If we look at BFC's history, and the fact that CMx2 is about 10 years old and that developing a new engine is very time consuming and labor intensive, it seems safe to assume that development of a new CMx3 engine is well underway.  Also, BFC has been able to stay in business this long and they obviously plan ahead.

What I do find strange is the lack of communication with customers about their future plans.  Granted, they will toss out bones occasionally, but usually they are buried within non-related Threads in the forum.

More exposure, and creating buzz and interest can only help sales right?  Seems that Moon, a longtime BFC employee is no longer with the Company and ChrisND is not doing TwitchTV anymore.  ChrisND was really good at Public Relations and promoting the game.  A new website and store also, have never materialized.  So, who knows what is going on internally with BFC.

More news in an easily accessible manner, more videos and Twitchtv, more interesting Threads in the Forum can only help BFC in my humble opinion.
