1. Honestly Kingfish. Do you really think our president would have the intellectual capacity required to play this game. Let alone turn on the computer? B [This message has been edited by SybotCB (edited 03-28-2001).]
2. my god. Why would someone pay $56. BTS should post a dutch auction on there with like a quantity of 100 and a price of $45 + 8 shipping. That way these people that have no idea where to get it could find it on ebay. Plus they could take Paypal or something and send em out faster. Not that they haven't sold out of em all before. B
3. ... the usual stories of intrigue, passion, sadism, and bestiality. Should we continue the story with 109Gustav and his "special" salmon, Mace and his sheep, Lorak and his worms, or Phillies Phan and his penguin. No subject is taboo for the wierdo's writing in the faq thread. Not even the most wierd, disgusting, puking till you look like peng in the face topic of...
4. I thought the problem was that the "System" used like 75% SMG, 15% pupchens (or some 75mm Inf Gun), and 10% JagdPanzers. Or some breakdown thereof. Now I admit I don't know anything about WWII. Were units pretty diverse or pretty concentrated. I thought the point of combined arms was effective use of many different units to your advantage. If the above breakdown (IIRC, I've not used this in a battle so don't know what works, and what everyone's doing, on TH) accurately reflects the makeup of a unit during WWII then so be it, Everyone then needs to stop complaining about TH being "gamey". If the above breakdown is not accurate than wouldn't something like relative costing the more of one kind of unit you take MORE accurately reflect the typical WWII battlefield. I'm not saying restrict non-diverse squads. But make it progressively more expensive to add them. B
5. How about something like: Everything stays the same price. But if you get disproportionate troops (too many SMG squads), then it will start raising the price of those. Giving a discount if you buy as a platoon or something. Much over 4 or 5 of any one item would then be deathly costly to purchase. It would promote diversified units. Would something like that work? I don't know I'm just throwing out suggestions.
6. Actually a roster would be nice too. But that's been asked for here before, so I think they already knew about that. B
7. Perhaps you could add a "Boss Mode" I realize you can hit "esc", but for nostalgia sake if anything you could add a cute little compiling screen or processing data. Or a picture of some graphs on a desktop. That would be cool. [This message has been edited by SybotCB (edited 03-27-2001).]
8. Didn't we fool Hitler with a fake army (I think something about this is coming on the History Channel tonight as a matter of fact). We made him think we were going to attack at Coern and instead we attacked at Normandy. That seems to me like a good example of Dynamic Flags.
9. Microsoft Intellimouse Optical here. God I love that Mouse. The smoothest mouse on the planet. I don't understand where someone feels there's lag in an optical mouse. Not in mine or it's infintely negligeable. A friend of mine just bought a mouse and pointer combination from Wacom Technologies http://www.wacom.com. The "mousepad" plugs into the computer and there is a cordless mouse that works on the pad in relative mode. And there is a pen that you can use on the pad in a 1:1 relationship with the screen. It looks interesting but I have yet to use it at any length to see if I would like it or not. Gel filled wrist pads at both work and home helped me out a great deal as well.
10.
We'll pay Croda to use his sig in his posts. Then we can charge suckers five bucks each to come in and laugh at him. Mace was quite proud of his scheme, and was shocked when it backfired and...
... Set his scrotum on fire. Quickly Mace in an attempt to minimize the damage to his gonads ...
11. Bump for the morning crowd. Adding to this. Where would I get the old version of this database. I'd really like the one with the pictures. Though Wolfe's is nice too. B
12. Any news on this update? Looking to find this database with the pictures. B
13. Question here from a Wargaming Newbie. I wanna know the origin of two words. 1) Grog, grognard (whatever other implementation of the word) 2) Peng (And why that means your allowed to taunt and slander people (In good fun of course). Thank you for your support. (Preferably 14" Naval Guns). Chris
14. Maybe he just got a Port-A-Potty. Or at the very least a bedpan. B
