  1. I experienced something similiar earlier in a tcp/ip game as the Americans vs the Germans. I was pissed off about it because a German sniper killed the two men in a 155 mm FO in one shot. ------------------ There was a long silence of rememberance for the dead, to which I added these names: Ernst Neubach, Lensen, Wiener, Wesreidau, Prinz, Solma, Hoth, Olensheim, Sperlovski, Smellens, Dunde, Kellerman, Freivitch, Ballers, Frosch, Woortenbeck, Siemenlies... I refuse to add Paula to that list, and I shall never forget the names of Hals, or Lindberg, or Pferham, or Wollers. Their memory lves within me. There is another man, whom I must forget. He was called Guy Sajer.
  2. Heh nothing like a realistic solution like that! 3. I am fairly ignorant when it comes to coding a game engine but I agree that the lack of diversity in urban terrain makes most maps feel unrealistic. I doubt this is the fault of BTS because they probably don't have the production team to create various buildings or other urban structures yet. 5. I know this doesn't have anything to do with bayonets but is there any chance artillery spotters could be given some sort of close combat weapons. I was playing a tcp/ip game with my brother where he had a battalion of British para and I had basically a reinforced company of gebirgsjagers. It ended up as a complete bloodbath and at one point one of my crews and an arty spotter were in hand to hand with a squad of his guys. I just thought it would have been nice if my arty spotters actually did something. 6. I noticed when I was playing the breaching the west wall operation the pillboxes seemed a lot less potent than before. 7. I was wondering if the music from the intro movie was an original score. I still find it cool even though when I start up combat mission I only hear the music but don't see the movie anymore. The game still works so I don't care too much. 8. I was recently playing a tcp/ip game with my brother and was a little surprised at what seemed like more accurate tank gunnery. I had a veteran stug hidden in a turret down position just behind the crest of the hill. After I spotted his sherman I simply popped up and knocked him out in one shot. I don't think his tank even had enough time to turn towards me and try to engage. 9. The only time I ever played tournament games online was for Sid Meier's Gettysburg, which for that matter was an excellent game in its time. The one thing it taught me was that while it is fun to watch your score rise and fall and it seems to make the victories more thrilling ladder games almost encourage people to be unscruplous if they take it too seriously. I don't play any sort of ladder games anymore rather just pickup games because first of all I don't have the time and I try not to take the game too seriously. 10. All modern war movies miss the point on war. War is hell so it is almost always a tragedy not something where the "good guys" win like some sort of cartoon.
  11. All my experiences with ME have been pretty ****ty. I had to go back and restore the registry on my computer after it did something to it.
  12. I finally got a chance to play combat mission online tcp/ip yesterday and even though I got my ass kicked it was a lot of fun. I don't think I can ever go back to playing the computer now. Too bad I only have a month of furlough to play this and be "a lazy piece of ****." ------------------ "I was once a retarded mick now I am a retarded keydet"
  13. I agree. I think it is a big pain in the butt to not have a topographical map. Besides then I can use all the nifty stuff the army has taught me about how to read them!
  14. I am wondering if there is any database of people who will be playing TCP/IP Combat Mission games once the mod is released. Alas as I am merely a retarded keydet I have limited time to play combat mission unless of course I am on furlough. Well anyway is there any easy way for me to find opponents or should I just badger people by email or something?
