    Gone Gold

Earl Grey - I preordered a few minutes ago and got the confirmation email almost immediately. - Hobo
  2. Help! I cannot get Biltaid (latest version) to advance beyond the next battle. Wouldn't you guess I am stuck on 13. I enter the battle results and then I cannot enter data for my infantry. I can move ahead to the tanks and then the final screen. When its all done it goes back to round 13 with the same battle but with the updated favor. Has anybody experienced this? I think I updated to the latest version of Biltaid right before this happened. Is there a problem when updating the version? Help! Thanks, Hobo
  3. Seahawk - Just saw the program Sorge. I wonder if we can integrate it with Biltaid to expedite the calculations between games. Hmmm. Regards, Chris
  4. Simple - Incorporate BCR into the engine. Should take about 3 days of coding and 6 months of fun play testing. - Hobo
  5. I give company HQ's a 1/2 XP for Maj victory and 1 XP for total victory. I am thinking about averaging the platoons XPs for each battle and giving the result to the platoon HQ. - Hobo
  6. I would like to thank everybody that contributed to the QB maps. They add as much to the fun of BCR as the actual BCR rules. Dont know what everyone else things, but my games seem to be much tougher using the custom maps. I hope to be able to repay everybody with maps of my own when my job/life situation settles down. Regards, Hobo
  7. Biltong - My vote is for the Allies in CMAK (though I admit I might not buy the game unless they put in a campagn feature). The primary reasons are as follows: 1. Getting tired of playing the Germans. 2. The AI cannot attack and the Italian campaign would stink playing the germans. 3. Didnt play the Brits much in CMBO and would like to learn their stuff. Regards, Hobo
  8. My solution is to randomly add one additional ability every time a HQ unit increases levels. I am tinkering with the idea of giving an experience point to each of the HQ units for every Major or Total win. The logic being even if they personally did not kill anybody, it was their leadship that led to the victory. My problem is I have played only 6 battles in this campaign and have lost all 3 regular platoon leaders Unless I start doing a better job off keeping them alive this will all be a moot point. Hobo
  9. Seahawk - One very small feature request for V2.3. Could you please include the version number somewhere in the program. I am not sure if I am using the new or old version. Thanks for all your support of BCR. Regards, Chris
  10. What exactly do the men attached to HQ units actually do? I assume most of them are runners and maybe communications guys. For the command HQ I would assume one or two of them are G2 and G4 guys. Anybody know for sure? Hobo
  11. Seahawk - Thanks. The only problem is that Biltaid seems to allow only one unit per battle. Am I doing something wrong? Hobo
  12. Rules Gurus - I just got 160 points for attached units. Can I use this to buy more than one unit? For some reason I thought you could only aquire only one unit per battle but I cannot find that rule. Assuming you can only buy one unit, since there isn't any support or vehicle units that costs that much, do the extra points carry to the next battle? Thanks, Hobo
  13. BCR Fans - I have some modifications to HQ unit rules that I thought I would pass on for discussion. I believe the experience of the platoon HQ is 99% dependent on the HQ leader. Thus, I cannot believe they would lose experience if a member that is not the leader is lost. To account for this using Biltaid, I calculate if the HQ leader is lost in combat using straight percentages (1 in 4 chance if a platoon HQ unit loses a man). If the leader is lost, I assume the whole unit is lost when entering in the data using Biltaid (one problem w/ this is emergency reorganizations are a little off). If the leader survives, I enter no lost men in Biltaid. If I lose the Company commander, I pick one of the platoon commanders to take his place and reduce his experience level by one. I then generate a new platoon HQ unit to repace the one just promoted. Also, I randomly add one leadership trait everytime a HQ unit gains experience. Any thoughts on this system? Regards, Hobo While this sounds silly, it has a big impact on the game play. I just lost two regular platoon leaders in the last battle. Both of them with tons of leader traits. I now have two of my platoon led by green LTs each with less traits than their predicessors.
  14. Was cruising through the early games like most everybody else when my friggin commmander asked me to do a night probe in rain and fog against a friggin Battalian of pioneers. Its back to training conscripts for Captain Gloser. Seahawk - One feature request for the aid. It would be relly cool to keep accumlated numbers on number of enemy and friendly kills per unit. Also, using the aid I had a squad kill 57 men and not get promoted from regular to veteran. Does this make sense? Regards, Cpt. Gloser [ April 11, 2003, 07:15 PM: Message edited by: hobo ]
  15. I want my attached units back. One anomoly in the rules has you losing your attached units during an emergency reorganization and never getting them back. I would think that once things have settled down you should get your attachment back. In my case I keep getting and losing an attached 150MM gun. I would think the men would go back to their gun once the emergency is over. Any thoughts? Regards, Hobo
  16. I am a big fan of BCR and Wreck's rules before it. For those interested, I use the editor to keep my leaders from battle to battle. If a command HQ gets hit I randomly determine if it is the leader and then randomly determine if the hit will keep him out of the next battle (80% chance of not making it). If the commander gets it, I promote my favorite Lt to his spot and randomly gerenate a new Lt. For every advancement in the the commanders experience I add one randomly generated skill. My solution for getting around the ammo bug is to normalize the ammo amounts between the Germans and the Russians. Thus if Germans get 80% and the Russians get 50%, I set the Russian level at 70% (100 - (80-50)). Of course this only works as long as the Germans get more ammo than the Russians. Thought somebody might be interested.
  17. News Flash - Lt. Gerdes was wounded leading his men up a hill to an objective. The LT was one of the most talented leaders in Hpt Glosers company. His men really rallied around him, his ability to attack the Russians was unmatched, and he was pretty good at conducting surprise attacks. It looks like Gerdes will be out of the battle for 6-9 months while his leg heals up. In his absence Lt. Bauer will assume control of 2nd Platoon. He is a little green but equally talented scoring high leadership and stealth skills and is a fair shot. Good luck Lt..
  18. TB, You can count me in for CMBO RoW tournies forever. I just missed the final round (congrats Vadr, you really did beat me bad  ) and am dying for a rematch. Regards, Hobo
  19. Any progress on this yet. I loved the rules for CMBO and want to play it again (as the Germans) for CMBB. Regards, Hobo
  20. I am half way through the scenario and I must say it is very well done. I have taken the VL directly in front of my setup zones (Northern VL) and am beginning to wheel right towards the other two flags and bring my reinforcements up from the setup zone for a two pincher attack. The only strange thing that you should change is the green T-26 tank that is just North of the North VL kind of backed into the battle. There was a regular T-26 over in the field over there that acted fine. But the Green guy just seemed confused (and died pretty quick!). I will send out a proper AAR report when I am done. Regards, Chris I will mail you an AAR when I am done.
  21. Vadr - You dog. You just barely nipped me in making the RoW II finals. I would have made it if I had given you a half decent game. Anyway, thats not the purpose of this note. I am about to start a new PBEM game and need to know whether you still need my services. Hobo
  22. Hey VJ - I would be happy to take a look at it if you need some more feedback. Hobo
  23. aah. In that case I can live with it. Can't be having a buggy game. Thanks, Hobo
  24. TB155 - Even though Vadr insured I will not make the finals, you can count me in for Round 2. Hobo hobo@mindpulse.com
