To anyone who was thinking of buying it on video, its coming out in Feb on DVD. So if u have a DVD player save ya monnies and wait for a better copy that will never wear.

The funnuy thing is most war movies suck bar the odd one. IE the winter war Its probably what make me enjoy documentaries more. Im so pissed off at these film companies who spend millions making for eg SPR and it sucks. The same for U F$%^KIN 57. I mean what a crock. Have u seen so many depth charges in ya life, blowing up a few metres away form a sub. Ohh whats that the sub seems to be ok!!. U would think one director today would have the ability to make a good , accurate war movie with these huge budgets. Enemy at the gates has had 100+ million spent on it, the most expensive for a European movie. Hmm that will be interesting. Stalingrad was a nasty war. If that movie isnt an NC17 STATES - R18 NZ i dont want to see it. SPR was R18 because it depicted realistic war scenes. If Enemy at the gates is a kiddies movie im gonna be pissed off. I have heard theres a love story going on in it to hmm. Pearl Harbour is apparently a love story as well, about a WOMAN torn between two men. What a crock! Part II!!!!!! There wont be much fighting in that, i mean how long did the attack go on for,( how much fuel did jap planes have 20 minutes or so to fight with) cause thats about how long the attack scene will last and thats it. The rest will prob be sucky sucky kiss kiss. The future of war movies looks grim. More movie stroy emphasis is now on fighting one another over woman, than the actual enemy.

I think hand to hand combat will be interesting here as alot of that went on in Russsia, with German lines being overrun attacking russians. Will they have guns or pitchforks? Whatever they model it with , it will be amusing. Ill just have to make sure i have 10 MG's to hold em all off.

I agree with PeterNZ. Im generally am quite used to this going down in PBM with certain individuals, so i prefer to flame them in game so to speak than on the board. There recons die so fast they dont know what hit em. Reconing to me is ok like that if a person has artillery support and gun, tanks support watching over em. As long as they go straight back fine. If they try to take on the whole army ( ie coming up the lelft siide then heading into the middle of the rear area with no one to support/cove rthem )they are lame, so dont play with them again. As unrealistic as this recon tactic is the game itself has some unrealistic flaws. U cant expect too much here though. The thing is people are using what they can to achive what they want. Lives arnt an issue as it is in real life. So as a defender to recons make more AT guns present.!!!!!

I sent an e-mail directly to BTS ( 1 month ago) asking them to change this etc but i got no reply. I wanted the option to choose whatever kind of experience level i wanted. Its not that hard to patch. The thing is if someone wants to make heaps of cheap troops that will die rather quickly; whilist having elite snipers etc cover them go for it. I'd still have vets mostly, its up to the individual to choose what he wants. Also comes down to tactical use of them, so what if u have elite guys, u will get less for your money and they can die just as quick. And i agree with the idea too that its unrealistic having certain nationalities fighting with one another. But hey its a tactical option. Personally i was thinking as well maybe a new option added where (IF U WANTED) if u choose German SS units thats all u can get; SS units. Not army units or faljager etc. American and not Polish rah rah There is a lot of mixing. Maybe there should be a limit to the mixing. Maybe Fionns 76 rule should have included fionns 2 nationalalities types rule. No more trhan 2 mixed nationalities. hehe Well that my two cents worth

The ai is ok, but needs work. However u cant expect to much, in a game like this. Humans will always be a better, varying challange. The ai does stupid, funnny and sometimes crazy things. I know there are probs but i can live with it. I play PBM anyways and soon ipx/tcp!!!!!

Ive found that if u dont actually target a tank/vehicle wiht me squad, theres usually a 50% chance the platoon will fire at them. Panzerfaut units themselves shoot off but platoons dont sometimes. Its a bug i think, maybe an AI aiming thing who knows really. It can suck but ive learnt to live with it playing the germans.

Any chance u will be bringing out some new bmps, houses etc and new vehicles? With a new expansion, with the all the CMHQ mods etc on it as well as new maps i think it would be sellable. Hey Lucky when the patch comes out make ya self free one night, im gonna connect to u and kick ya ass!!!!!!! If u are a newbie and have any questions dont hesitate to ask any of us. Me mate Tripps has the game as well hell be keen to play u all some time, hes just getting into it, but hes a know all about WWII so he pretty good in that department. Also a freebie to those who used to play it Tanarus is free from October 15 i think. Its a funny tank game, just thought some of u who may have payed to play it might want a quck bash for free.

Why arnt motorbikes in the game?, they were used for recon etc like the us jeeps. They are an important vehicle also they have a mg on em for fast assaults. Why were theses left out?

Hi Kiwi, u beat me ages ago, so we are up for a rematch and i think u are going to lose this time!!!!!! hehe from 3 pbms im currently 1-1-1 well see how we go when u send me ya game on Sunday. Also if u live in Auckland we will have to get a TCP/IPX net game going one night when it comes out. Im in Hamilton so on a weekend it will be a $5 toll for the whole weekend pretty cheap. Any one else in NZ we can link with? I know Peter NZ is in London so its a bit far to do a toll call, maybe i could stay up late one night and fight over the net.

I'd like to have a look to compare it to mine see which is better. I think my map will be better! Wait till u see it!!! i got it from a 3d image of Cassino hand drawn in me Grandpops NZ WWII book. Me map is 90% accurate to that of the cassino battle map!! Even the right roads, rivers etc are there. Has taken me along time dam it. Also i have all the NZ forces of battle and german, not to mention other allied groups as well. I have NZ cpts names etc down to what the exact weather was like that day. The prob is its really 4 battles rolled into one. Dam hard figuring out how to play it.

Its ok for a documentary, an American perspective, to me propaganda showing why they fight. From the "WHY WE FIGHT SERIES" Id rate it a 6 outta ten for value. I hate propaganda crap, theres alot of non war stuff on thee as well. As for movies well SPR on DVD has got awesome sounds, the movie was ok 8/10. DAS BOOT extended on DVD 9/10 its pretty good. I enjoyed Kellys Heroes more for humour but 9/10 all the same. The thin red line was ok as well, but it went a little too psychological 7/10. Im after the Finnish war vid which im waiting for, and im ordering A rare SS video hopefully they will be sweet. They will be 10/10 i hope. I prefer real war footage movies at present as the movies tend to suck. Im still waiting for that perfect war movie like most of us. Fingers crossed "enemy at the gates" might be half decent. anyone have any more "new: info on it?

I just grabbed the book for a quick lookie at the maps and man the maps are real good, ones drawn from a CM type viiew shoooows everthing real good. Ill try and redo the map for CM, when its done ill send it to u Peter for a lookie.

The book has a picture of them using a WASP Flamethrower and other tanks Shermans i think. As well as other pics. There is bugger all to find regarding NZ in WWII on the net, Ive tried searching. Use www.google.com/ searcher as well when searching its pretty good finder.

I have a book my Grandfather left for me. Its all the specific details of 26th Battalion, 2 NZEF. He fought in Italy after Cassino, as replacements for the kiwis that died. This book has it all from leaving NZ to the last battles in italy in real good detail. If u want details of Cassino from the NZ perpective ill write up a large mail and send it to u if u want to use it to make a game. Ill help u beta it etc. We just need some German info now.
