Well what are they under equipped for?
Its a broad statement
They have modernised to an extent there army which was close to full collapse when putin took over and reformed the country and military
The term modernisation is dependent on your views of tech and where you live
Its not as high tech in many regards to the US but there main weapon - nuclear weapons are up there with the s400 and s500 systems and hypersonic antiship missles
Depending on what it is you need high tech is not always the best way to go depending on systems and reliability and your countries defence / offense strategy
AKs and PKMs are widely used in Iraq and else where by private contractors showing there reliability and stopping power for example in rapid response teams to extract vips etc from ambushes
So some older russian gear is still respected and capable from watching professional contractor interviews and footage
The west dominates with sniper capability and optics/precision
Germany in ww2 had high tech but it limited production and caused supply issues
Russia kept things more simple and mass produced.
While its a different era and technology with ww2 at the end of the day modern russia keeps things simple in many areas and puts money into nukes its main deterrance weapon
Its recent tactics of popping up little green men as they are called into areas they need them is not high tech, is strategic and they need only an ak or basic at weapon etc
so the discussion of gear upgrades to me is also relevant to what they need them for
Currently i only see a defensive requirement as opposed to offensive
And does there gear meet that?
While not all of it is top tier its reliable and cheap to produce and en mass an invader id expect would pay the price with a prolonged invasion
To casualty levels the west would not accept
And it would thus do its job against any invader

Russia was doing well financially and the US saw it as opposition not wanting to join the IMF like China ( they are all in BRICS) , its basically an economic war
Dr Roberts noted that the US cancelled there nuclear treaties without discussion with Russia that were established in the Reagan administration and the US Senate also voted to be able to use US nuclear weapons in first strike situations
The so called Hot lines are gone and once black and white lines for conflict are now blurred
The US think tanks seem to have the US NEOCONS thinking they can win a first strike and that to me is there only chance hence there aggressive policy with Russia hence pushing over heavy divisions to Europe
However if 10% of any sides arsenals is detonated its all over for humanity
So from a logical perspective you need to look where the real war is cause no one would nuke unless there nuts
Its clearly economic and on places like Wall street and the banking system, and in agreements like the Trans Pacific partnerships etc
The Corporations have the power now and run countries like the US and put people into power like Obama ( just like that he was there - came from nowhere )
Dr Roberts has attempted to have investigations started into the US financial system but has been stone walled but Corporate lawyers and bankers
Its very clear the US financial system is failing and the US policy makers are simply adjusting the markets buying time ( he discusses this in detail in his many comments)
Internally the US is falling apart - flints water issues are the tip of the ice berg. The US power grid is itself old and failing amongst other critical infrastructure. The US itself is being neglected with essential services.
The US gold markets are are a clear example of the manipulation on wall Street

The EU is part of this corrupt profiteering through Market manipulation and trade with the US dollar etc and Dr Roberts believes due to the massive un-serviceable US debt, if the EU splits over time as Britain has from it
The ongoing effect would be US financial market will collapse sooner than expected with the EU unable to support the US / investments etc
THE EU is in essence helping to prop the US markets up with there corrupt use of money. You can argue it all you want but that's the reality
US Bankers with European support are trying to keep the US western lifestyle and general system going for another 10-20 years but its all starting to crumble
Suppressing the Russian economy especially there energy sector is helping to keep US profits up and Russia's down
The US's middle eastern allies have too been reaping rewards
However the flawed trading system we have Its going to collapse at some point ( it always crashes but this one will be the final one ) , and resources are starting to run low.
The worlds biggest problem is over population and given a small number moving out of a battle zone in other countries look at the effects - social and economic

the UK is so multi cultural now - its no longer British as one would call it.
The UK is a social mess now and so Europe heads down that path.
I note when a country loss there identity, it makes them unstable, more prone to civil war if you set them up to do this, and they can be easier to control with less major groups to contest with as society is fragmented. There is no national unity. Its easier to become part of a world order in that context which is where the world needs to be heading, to survive, at a lower population level. Less resistance from a population that is fragmented and and has a lacking in identity. Moving them to a unified purpose is easy to do - its what a fella called Hitler did. Germany was a mess and he unified them and directed them to a purpose. Making people do very evil things i note.
Europe is such a mess they have poor out dated equipment and are forced to rely on the US for military support. Combined with a mixture of peoples which is growing - you start to get countries who do not want to fight and are unsure what they are fighting for or for what borders if such a thing exists for them anymore. That why the US are there as they are pushing for it, to keep the economic war going they have to support it with force, backing up there intentions.
ironically all the of the main business leaders of several nations France, Austria etc want to resume trading with Russia amongst all this and it may be a main drive now the UK could exit after voting that way
But A US military presence is saying no
So who is doing the threatening?
The reality to me is NATO is outdated and not working, not needed ( just like the UN ) and it will crumble along with the EU.

The original NATO is a fragment of its former self; and from a European perspective was something collectively used in a different era after WW2 in an uncertain world with clear lines and allies/enemies in that thinking of the time
That's all gone now Its all Corporations fighting for the Worlds resources and profits
For the EU to succeed it needs to stop being corrupt, have decent economic policy ( Brussels needs to stop raping other EU countries resources at the behest of the US )
It needs to start caring for people and have its own standing army , and military tech with mixed peoples and actually be a unified EU
Europe should sort its own issues out and that includes with Russia
The US needs to sort out its own Country out and stop going into all other countries
There are probably more shootings in the US than there were in the IRAQ war or Russia/Ukraine war
This I believe is where Trump is coming from in his views and hes quite correct that NATO should be self funded
what are US people doing over there - They should be with there families in the US
But Europe having its own army it could potentially threaten the US / China or Russia! if it was possible
So id expect US policy makers would want to see a fragmented Europe stay as is
France said they wanted a unified Europe with its own army and looked what happened to them

NATOs toast as far as I'm concerned, as the years drag on and millions of refugees flood Europe people will lose the will to fight, there national pride will be gone an there country will be in economic ruins, no borders
The world we know it , is a mess, the US is trying to keep together what it can for its power bases and its own economic survival with its allies
I now know what it was like to be in Rome and watching Romes peak then decline in power
Rome was torn down from within and destroyed by corruption so watch the same unfold here

Its interesting to read articles and see military footage on these - you take it as you will
Like all media information I do not know if it true or not now days
Since no one else is reporting this its just another angle to consider
With all eyes on the Turkish conflict there has been quite alot going on in the Ukraine and its border lands with actions of both sides not generally reported in mainstream news.
If Turkey is in there it doesn't look good for Ukraine to have essentially terrorist supporting them.
Else it could be a false flag op by Russia to generate support for a counter offensive if they are attacked?

My take on this video ( correct me if you think I'm wrong )
This appears to be for mass manufacturing of tanks and ( general armor ) base modular designs with interchangeable setups.
This would be cost effective and would mean having a huge stock pile of interchangeable parts freely available.
As to whether these tanks are better than the T90AM? I don't know.
The weapons systems were not discussed in depth, they seemed to talk more about the defensive systems.
They looked high tech but I was unsure as to there actual effectiveness.
Its common for Russia to be trashed re there military tech but everything I've seen is generally legit, and works reliability well.
I think people often under estimate them.Given there best weapons have not gone up against US Armour it is hard to say.
With one less crew member that means more 1 extra guy to go in another tank so you have savings and crew going into other tanks.
I also noted the turret elevation which I thought was very high?
I wonder if SAM attachment could be added or anti drone weapon versions?Perhaps an AA variant will come out - new Tunguska perhaps?

They talked about the crew comfort, but comfort is also based about going over things at high speed etc / suspension and id like to see how much a crew member moves around when going over terrain. But it still looked nice. Russians are not used to it and they are discussing and showing there modernization of Armour to current standards.
I felt the whole comfort thing was recruitment thing - to draw people into wanting to be tankers. They did talk about it somewhat. Good chance to get some PR in.

If you over power or under power to the US Armour in game you will draw criticism from all sides.
Makes it hard for a games developer

I shot your AT 14 DB by direct targeting your AT14 with my Jav crew
They often will shoot if you get them to target directly what ever you want.
Can be expensive use of a missile but worth it depending on the situation.

From having played alot of games in CMRT, and CMBS sometimes your tank will get a rare shot through rows of trees that looks impossible.
Its not something you can get to happen , it just happens on a stroke of luck with being able to see lol

When I saw the subject line I thought it had to do with ATGMs skipping off the ground. Last week a compilation video was released of fighting for the Donetsk airport (from Ukrainian perspective) and there was a situation where it looks like a AT-4 (or possibly AT-5) missile bounced a hundred meters or so before striking a tank. Hard to tell if it really was a bounce or if the gunner made a very sudden upwards adjustment. Either way, it was pretty cool.

Ive killed a T90 with a jav.
My opponent had BDRMs either side and they both were taken out in the explosion.
I was not sure of the personnel on board to comment re the extend of damage inside.
They were one action point away - maybe one of them was two aps from what i recall.
Ive hit BMPs with javs , If they have light armour beside them its a 50/50 if they go up.
Its Hard to space armour as some times you want to concentrate armour / firepower.
Therefore have an infantry screen go ahead and or sniper cover if you do to see ahead a way
a narrow fire arc to minimise threats is also recommended.

Was top of that ladder then too for CMBB, CMAK . In saying that it was about fun and playing random games.
Just ended up there on top. Just like the All Blacks I hope lol
I play either side, I do not really care and let my opponent choose or mirror games
Played more Russian or Ukraine than US generally
I've actually won about 7 games I think games as US and never recorded them alonmg with a few Russian games as I was trying to be nice to my opponent and keep them interested
When I play US i am now trying to find ways of making it hard for my self
Ie no Abrams Tanks or I take 1 only
And I use Bradleys only or the other Stryker 105? cannon
I'm trying Sniper Teams or SAW Teams with AT launchers as a main AT force along with Humvess and 50cals but Tunguskas are doing damage to them with there straffling its very hard
I never use TRPs or anything gamey where possible
Also trying similar tactics with Russian units and just using BMPs or similar

My guess is Russia is going after The Rebels and ISIS in Syria to support Assad.
Essentially Russia I believe will advise its ops to drive ISIS out to the UN and begin active mil ops. Putin had been hinting at active operations there against ISIS on RT for the past few weeks.
As to how far it goes who knows.

I believe what you pay for in aircraft points may work itself out in damage to enemy units.
Ie A US single Jet is 1800?
Carries ATGM x6?
6 Shots - Should mean 6 Kills
BMPs at 300 Points each is 1800
If tanks you may get more bang for buck.
Risk is being shot down by AA.
Personally id rather use artillery or ground units.
Im top of the warefare hq ladder for a reason for CMBS.
And one of those is not putting points in air units.

If the team is quite small, would it be possible for some modders/programmers to help with addons and skins/mods and anything else.
If legal contracts were signed , new units and so forth could be made and added as beta. Steve and co test and sign off leaving them more time to focus on more complex issues.
The CM modding community is quite talented.
My concern is given the teams size and the releases to be done the games potential will be limited with slow releases.
How long are these updates going to take?
Id like to see this game reach full potential.
I know of people who have quit CMRT due to unresolved bugs and other issues for example. Alot of games still have bugs while new games are being released.

Is 4.0 based around win 10 and direct x 12?
Or older systems?
Once you hit 4.0 will it mean quicker or slower releases from your end with the changes it makes?
Will the upgrade speed up mission/map design etc for you and in essence for map makers and there work?
Will all vehicles become ridable?
Ie Guys hanging outside on top of BMPs for example in black sea?

If you go beside another unit the option should be there to give out ammo / secondary gear. Share the love
Game is quite restrictive not being able to share ammo
Especially in modern warfare where you go thru ammo quick
Is there going to be an update to the spotting engine in the game?
I ask this as I know top ranking ladder players and best friends who have quit due to the spotting engine over the years playing over many games systems - normandy to black sea
I can appreciate some of there arguements and have seen appaling spotting issues on game myself that make no sense
Some are bugs - others are?
I do appreciate in regards to spotting what the game is trying to achieve and kind of how it works however which is why i still play
But ive never seen Battlefront discuss the spotting engine in depth and would appreciate a proper explanation of how things are seen and work and any changes to this so i can understand the engine better
Id like to see Hypothetical game modules or module packs of say Chinese forces for example and you can use on any custom map vs US forces or whatever your opponent has bought
Forces are quite restricted and you could add in any nation
You could also sell scenario packs
