No dice. No matter what I try the result is always the same. I'm just going to have to wait for a working model.

OK, thanks. I'll give it one more try.

CMBB INSTALL ISSUES! COME HERE FOR LATEST INFO!!!!
RCHRD replied to Madmatt's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
I'm just not computer smart enough to get all this to work. I'll have to wait for a new CD. -
The manual says 'Insert disk and double click setup.exe' Where is it? I tried Start-Run-Cmbb Installer. The computer locked up, with the CD drive speeding up then slowing, then speeding, etc, etc. So I tried explorer, again clicking on CMBB Installer, the only choice. I got the message "D:\CMBB Installer.exe The directory name is invalid." What's the deal? Every other disk I run works just fine.

Thanks a lot, guys. I was sweating bullets. I had rooted around the tools menus, but I couldn't find anything on my own. Should I reset the security back to a higher level now??
-
Ok, thank you. I'll try it now.

I try to pre-order, and I get the message; 'You must have cookies turned on to shop on our website.' I've never had this problem before. Why now and why here? I just want to order the game. How can I 'turn on cookies'?

Short Summary of problems with the Beta Demo

I really like the way the camera moves works now. Don't change it. -
Thanks for the answers. I'll take it back tomorrow.

I bought a Visiontek card. It says prominantly on the box 'nvidea Gforce mx420' Its a PCI card. When I looked in my case I thought my old card is plugged into an AGP (brown) slot. I haven't opened the box yet. Should I take it back and exchange it for the AGP card by the same manufacturer, or does it matter?

Any good Berlin maps c. 1945 out there?
RCHRD replied to benpark's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I thought I found a source for a 1939 small scale map. Some guy in S. America. I think that copies are only available in paper. I'm still trying to get it. -
CMBB: Grain Silo fight at Stalingrad possible?
RCHRD replied to kunstler's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
A website: 'Stalingrad-info.com' (Spelling?) has a group of pictures of the elevator, then and now, plus other good photos. It's a pretty good site. -

Dorosh is right. It is a great big freakin concrete thing. It's still there. -
Waffen Grenadiere im Großdeutschen Freiheitskampf

Now wait a minute. The 14th SS division fought during the Brody pocket battles. Formed from Ukranian volunteers it gave a good account of itself. -
To those with the Nafziger books and Panzertruppen....
RCHRD replied to Commissar's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
The panzer Tactics by Sharp, offered by BTS, has some of the same text as PanzerTruppen. A lot in fact. I was hugely dissapointed. Get Panzertactics. -
Thanks. I copied and printed it.

I'm on about turn 12 or so of my first PBEM (I can never remember to check the turn number) What I've done up till now is get a file and give orders, then get another file and watch the replay, new file, watch, new file, orders. But tonight I got a watching file and, before I sent it back, I saw that I could bring up the orders menu. Will somebody point out what is contained in each file transfer, how many kinds there are, and what options I have for each file I receive? Thanks, Richard.

Yeah, I saw it, too. I thought what you thought.

My first exposure to Fionn was back before CM was released. This is, in fact, the first forum I ever visited, the first I ever registered at. Almost at once Fionn stood out. Obnoxious, insulting, haughty, combative, rude. (Not as much as Madmatt but nearly so.) I thought the guy was a jerk and was glad to see him banned. Now he is restored to the board and I can see what led him to that state of affairs. He figures again prominantly in many threads. Some are decidedly provocative, almost taunting. Even if it is all in good fun I can see how it might chafe against his patience, and his temper. I can understand a little better now why he might have snapped back at some perceived slight. Fionn, I may have misjudged you. My apologies. [ June 01, 2002, 12:31 AM: Message edited by: RCHRD ]
