2. Cant they be nuked !..I know there are no nucleur decvices in CM but ask BTS to make a special Peng Bomb!... They r like roaches ! And yes I am of Irish decent,,and German. Guess what side wins?? ,lol
3. This forum is about Combat Mission..Not their sociological and masterbatorial problems..this is as lame as Gomer Pyle !

6. I here all this raving about PBEM and would like to give it a try, however I have not done it before.Although I have the instructions I do not really know what it entails.I am also concerned about the size of the so-called playback files and how long they take to load thru e-mail.If there are any players out there who are new like me and wanna give it a go let me know.I prefer smaller scenarios (25 turns) and can probably do 2 turns a night.
7. One way to avoid this is by sticking to the roads.Unfortunately the AI does not abide by this and tries the short route and gets bogged.Try using the Move or Fast option in increments(waypoints),rather than one long path.It keeps the vehicle (or unit)on the right path and does not slow it down.Example: When asking squads to cross a bridge,if u use just one straight path, they sometimes run down the slope to the water and back up and finally get across, but if you tell the squad to run to the beginning of the bridge and then across to the other side (2 way points) it does it quickly.
8. My Scenario "Take the High Ground" is fun as both sides,it's at the scenario depot. It involves Armor and Infantry,Company Sized forces and a hill that both forces must try to take. [This message has been edited by Panzer Man (edited 09-14-2000).]
9. Read your posts and had to try it.I played as the Germans vs the American AI.Was this supposed to be a replay of Barckmanns corner? It certainly reminded me of that famous story.Only the Americans were coming at me from all sides in this one? Anyway, I had 2 of my Panthers in pretty good Hull down positions and moved the 3rd into the wheat field on the right flank when I saw all the Shermans breaking thru.I lost that Panther but the other 2 survived.I admit all the smoke made it really hairy but I just stayed there and won the battle 53-36 (Axis minor Victory). But there was a Sherman literally face to face with Barckmann when it ended. The only thing that irked me was the way the soldiers got caught up in the bocage. That really hurt me.Every time I tried to reposition a squad they were weary from being entangled.
10. I dont believe it is counted..I have a scenario where the AI blasted me with Smoke. I guess it felt I had too much firepower and was trying to block my LOS. I tried to tone down the AI's usage by reducing the number of rounds. There is no number for smoke rounds. If the off map arty uses Smoke it reduces the total number of HE rounds. So it is very costly to use.
11. Heres My second offering. It's called "Bloody Bridge". There is no briefing yet but you must play as the Americans because of the Assault Boats.A Bridge is defended by Waffen SS.You outnumber the Germans by almost 3 to 1. Can you take the Bridge? The Link is here http://pages.prodigy.net/bogart69/bbridge.zip

It was created with the 1.05 patch.Let me know what you think ? 12. You might have to remove the old .exe. first..Put it someplace safe until you are sure the Patch works..
13. Perhaps there were bonus points added or subtracted... The Ops designer would jave to answer that.I am working on a scenario with a similar problem..I was playing as the Americans.Their Buy points were twice as much,3000 to 1500.The Germans surrendered and It said it was a Draw.I imagine my losses were much costlier than theres and pointwise it calculated a draw..I only used one flag and I need to make it worth more,,but I dont think that is possible.
14. It really means someone put a Banana in the Muzzle..You need the Banana removal squad to remedy that..lol
15. If you are out of their LOS and they appear boxed in,,use smoke and get into a better firing position.
16. I had the Smoke turned off, because I thought the game was running too slowly.I realized it was my damn Anti-virus that needed to be shut down. Anyway, I was playtesting a scenario I am working on and I had a dilemma.I needed to cross a bridge but there was a German MKIV in the road shooting my troops and tanks up anytime I neared the Bridge.I realized I had smoke and I decided to give it a go. Damn!. The smoke enveloped the MKIV, letting me get a Jumbo and 5 squads across..then once it started to dissipate my M10 whalloped it! I now realize how important it really is.If used right it might save the day.I wonder if it was used by Armor that often..?
17. Thanks,,I think you nailed it on the head...I removed trees and brush...no luck,,I relocated the Setup zones closer to the action and voila!..Within 2 moves the AI was reacting ! I believe way points would also be an excellent choice (like steel panthers allowed you to use). Now that I am creating scenarios I want to be sure that all the AI's units are being used, otherwise why bother to purchase them.I hope all scenario designers keep this in mind,I know of a few scenarios that have very large boards and I really wonder now if the AI was utilizing all its troops. A few AI Tank Commanders hanging out in the back of the board eating cheese and sipping wine can really affect the outcome if the game.
18. Thanks,,that could have been the problem...there was a lot of Trees/Foliage...etc..I'll remember to try to keep the ground clear.
19. I am working on a scenario, and something very odd happened. After my first play test I went back to the map to see what condition the AI's forces were in.To my surprise I found two Trucks at the set up stage with embarked squads unmoved..and not bogged down or immobile. I also found 2 Shermans only a few tiles away ,again unmoved and showing no signs of damage. I won the scenario but these extra forces would most likely have changed things dramatically. I dont understand why the AI didnt use these units. When I create scenarios I usually embark my troops because I feel it looks better and is more realistic.Could this throw off the AI when it starts the game. Any answers to this would be appreciated.
20. no..I think i know what happened.I saved my map in the Saved games folder, and i believe when i was testing it and saved it i didnt rename it..So possibly it changed the file from a scenario to a saved game file, which u cannot open in th editor..Dumb dumb move on my part..
21. After my initial complaints about my FO being spotted by an AT gun over a 1000 meters away, I later realized that I was NOT playing with Full FOW.This changes things dramatically in my opinion.I have never seen anything like that happen with FOW on.It is my opinion that when u play with FOW off,the AI finds the high priority targets much easier. So, when the arty drops it simply targets the FO if he is in LOS.I will never play without Full FOW turned on anymore,It is much more realistic and more fun.
