  1. Does anyone know what factors are taken into consideration fot a close assault. Unit type/experience/range? PS- I know that engineers make tanks blow up good!(gotta love satchel charges} ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  2. Belive it not the book is actually WORLD war II. BY B.T. White, Exeter books. ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  3. If you want more info on Camo and colors (if you don't already use it), try "Tanks and other armored fighting vechicles of wolrd war II". Smallish book with over 300 color illustrations (as well as historical data) Cheers ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  4. Very nice! These Mods really do add to the flavor of the game. For those of you who aren't into mods, get into them. Tiger and the rest of the artists do so really great work. Trying playing (if you don't already) from camrea position 1 or 2 and its a totally diferent game One question Tiger. The tracks on the Panther G are the same color as the tank. Is this accurate of the Camo or your Early work? ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  5. Thanks. I wouldn't recommend EAX support. It sounds great now without the $ for developers. I was curious if the CM 3D sound would work with a Platinum card. I guess it does. ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  6. I know that CM uses some apple sound mod for 3D. Does this conflict with EAX? Is this application included with the sound blaster Platinum? The sounds sound good as is but if they can be improved . . . ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  7. Gamey! I think not. The layout was such that placing my unit there simply provided some cover by using the woods. As a game mechanic I understand the idea. But I had NO idea that this was part of the game (live and learn). I would think that a reteating unit when reaching the edge of the board would prompt you-"remove from play?" or something like that. My Puma wasn't panicked. Nor had I instructed it to bail or even move. ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  8. Ok. So having my unit ACCIDENTLY move off the map and disappear from play ISN'T a bug. "Dude" "What" "You knocked your Tiger off the board" "What. Oh. Sorry. I'll put it back" "No way dude! You bumped it. Its history. You shouldn't have put it so close to the edge" Yeah. Right. . . . ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  9. I was playing a QM as Axis during a Allied assualt. Had a Puma behind some woods near the edge of a map. As an armoured car came into view the Puma began the back up-right off the edge of the map!!! Never to be seen again. Just reversed and disappered. Why? Does this mean the world is flat? ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  10. I think leaving the way it is is OK. A gentlemans agreement for mutual settings before a game. One Point and one issue to follow: 1). POINT-With Details off does the computer still know what the damage is? 2). ISSUE- Was playing a quickie, had several infantry units closing and out flanking a single american rifle squad and I had Puma (with a damaged gun) pressing them as well. I was hoping that the puma would intimidate them but they ignored it 'cause the gun was damaged! They wouldn't have known!!! (unless it was a bent barrel). BUG? ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  11. The CM Borg is a chick! (Notice the concealed bust line). ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  12. I checked past threads on this but I wasn't satisfied with the information. It would seem that the AI is really fond of smoke. It will, without fail, throw smoke like theres no tomorrow. This usually follows a failed attack. I know that smoke can be effective, but the AI doesn't follow up after the smoke (just sits there). Is this a bug? I'll tell you right now if those were HE rounds instead of smoke, I'd be hurting! What would the purpose of this tactic be? ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  13. Very cool tiger! Looks like a paint job I used back in the day of GHQ/Microarmour (dating myself . Whats up with the cross on the mantle? ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  14. Given the fact that luck (or unluck if you prefer) is being modeled here, it's also possible that that intended target was missed and round struck your unit accidentally ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  15. I tried that and my men flat out refused (actually implied my mother and father weren't married). ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  16. Drinking and playing CM? The demo didn't say anything about that. Don't misunderstand me, I'll start drinking right away. I'm just a little suprised is all. . . ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  17. Pardon my intrusion good sirs. And thank you in advance for your help. Exactly how do I take a screen shot? ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  18. I've got the same thing. To be honest, I wouldn't have noticed it if it hadn't be pointed out. A better way to see the effect is to use a mine field and look at the words in the field . ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  19. Given the fact that so many of these discussions are about little fiddly bits and details, I guess I'll add to the fray. Is there any consideration given to button/unbutton tanks receiving fire. Tests conducted by the US Army showed, that in a buttoned up tank, A penetration of the vehicle (in one side and out the other), would create a vacuum that would kill the crew. To put a finer point on it- using sheep as crew, they were sucked out the hole that was left as the projectile exited the compartment. Needlessly graphic but you get the point . So, is this taken into consideration in the game? I hope this isn't another FATAL FLAW ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  20. Thanks for the help! Everything works great. ------------------ Hey look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  21. I'm curious how many of you are using Mods. And which ones you are using. And if they work OK. Threes the limit right ------------------ Look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  22. Thank you for the explaination. sorry about the 2nd thread. ------------------ Look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  23. OK. Lets try this again. In playing the demo, while switching back in forth between allies and axis, the computer seemingly (key word) got shots off before I did and killed the target with those shots. Even when keeping unbuttoned, hunting, and having a good idea where the target was, I lost on the draw. I'm assuming the computer doesn't have an advantage and its just luck of the draw (which I can live with). ------------------ Look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  24. Hey guys. Just wondering if when I receive my copy of CM, if I should use the patch or not? I don't know what it fixes, but there are a lot of posts about 1.04 bugs. Do I want to do this? ------------------ Look, the bleeding stopped. Uh oh. . .
  25. Thanks. I'll try adjusting the TNT.
